- New Jalpaiguri - Darjeeling Passenger train passing through the locales of Siliguri and begins its climb on the hills of Darjeeling. The passenger train is locally referred as Darjeeling Toy train runs from New Jalpaiguri to Darjeeling. There are tourist special services hauled by Steam engine between Siliguri and Rongtong as well as Kurseong - Darjeeling and Darjeeling - Ghoom.

Beautiful , exotic and highly enjoyable. I experienced the journey from BJP to Darjeeling in 1978 when there used to be steam engine pulling the train and it would take in water every 20-25 Kms and the speed was very slow but enjoyable all the same.

So much so, that we filmed our own version aboard the same train that was boarded by Saif Ali Khan & Vidya Balan. Another dream fulfilled with use of just a mobile phone and lots of enthusiasm 😉

Me I have visited Darjeeling for atleast 1 day n I have seen the DHR, but that day was my train to back to my home, so I could not travel in that train, I wish I come here to Darjeeling once again n visit the places and also have a small journey in the dhr train

@@sudhirtamang4564 that must be some off-case, may be due to line problem between Siliguri and NJP. Otherwise the train go upto NJP.
@@MomentsandPlaces ji,On 4/4/19 ,I saw that D.H.R.(NDM 605) went till silguri junction, I saw two things that is passengers all left the train at that junction and there was a red signal before the D.H.R. platform,I did know what is happening.

I would get rid of the road (except for walking/bicycle's/scooters), twin the rail line, electrify it and get rid of it's horn.
If people are too stupid to get out of the way of the train - that is their problem.
