I am an omani whos keen on opening a restaurant in tanzania but from what i hear and read am not allowed as foreigner an this particular field. Could you shed some light on the matter. Many thanks and God bless.
Hi Nabeel, thank you for your questions. The Tanzania Investment Center (TIC) and City Council of Dodoma have made it clear that they do very much invite non-national investors, also in your area of restaurant business. In fact it is very much needed. However, as a non-national you need to show that your entire investment cost (including land, restaurant building, equipment and re-investment) will reach $500,000. This is not actual capital you need to put forward, but just investment cost and you can divide this into several phases over a few years in your proposal. If you just want to rent a small place to serve food, then that is according to the TIC in Dar Es Salaam possible, too, with a small budget - but without the land or the support of the Investment Center. Regarding Rwanda - None of the other countries in East Africa (or the rest of the continent for that matter) will have business regulations that are as easy and flexible for non-nationals as you'll find them in Rwanda. The courts in Africa work. Just that sometimes people are too poor to get information or go to courts but it’s possible with creating awareness around worker rights. Most of this is government failure and nothing else. Any investor will respect your laws if you enforced them and created severe penalties for mistreating workers.

The state owns all land in Tanzania. Therefore, there is no private ownership allowed for both citizens and non-citizens. However a long term lease [max. 99 years] or sub-lease from a citizen can be done.

We are struggling to create income generating activities with our beneficiaries. Your input and insight is highly welcomed. Any ideas on how to begin or even propose these activities to potential funders?
Attracting investors is one, can your model be used as hub for not that country only but de whole continent. Can africa immunize itself from religious crazy, priests, pastors and imams, corrupt politicians, tribalism, foolish coups, brutal dictators and child soldiers? If all the effort is not in the interest of this country and all of africa together, to total divorce itself from all what that resemble colonialism the efforts will be futile, especially in commerce. Africa must grow up and be in charge of all its resources. This artificial umbilical cord to Europe must be cut and buried in the middle of the Mediterranean sea. Like the chinese Africa must get out from under that colonial curse and do business with each other and outside of africa with other countries without fear or favor. Its all nice to have lofty ideas--in a good way. Furthermore, no one start building a house from the top with a nice fancy expense roof, but the focus is alway getting a solid foundation and sometimes that takes alot of digging to get it right. Come hell, come high waters it is time for africa to get it right. Let your model be the hub. JAH GUIDE. #oneafrica.

OpenLiz, thank you for your feedback. I would like to see the email to clarify. I think you are referring to my Importing from Africa Program. This is one of several programs I built and it was targeted at the African Diaspora in Europe or the US to open up new markets for African products in the West and boost exports, which are crucial to get a positive budget in African nations. However, we have many trainees who do intra-African trade, which is growing fast. I hope this clarifies it.

That's fine but I'm looking to get a business started on the ground there on the African continent. I've heard you speak on a few things needed there through your videos. I'm just trying to figure out are you looking to do more than just export out of Africa because the videos say one thing and the emails say something else.
In this video I heard multiple things that are of interest to me and can be implemented quickly
@OpenLinz what type of business are looking to invest in Africa
Indians are the most tolerant people in the world. We Indian treat Africans as our dear friends. Hence Indian Africans are residing in India with high regards. Indian s should be given opportunity in Tanzania to work and to live. God has created the earth, not the Indian not the Africans.
Dr. Harnet, ich mag Ihr Programm speziell für Ruanda, wenn Sie eine Lizenz für 6 Stunden erhalten
Corruption levels? in Kenya corruption is pretty high.
Oh... And the corruption in the USA, Europe, and other places not present. GTFOOH.
Corruption is common in many places but it's not that bad

Thank you doctor you’re a pioneer in this field. I wished there are publicly traded shares that outsiders can buy and contribute in the development in Africa.
you can trade in share and even treasury bonds in many African countries including Kenya and Tanzania.

@@walterhunter3353 you can check the stock exchange website for kenya www.nse.co.ke/ and just google the rest of the information, Kenya and the rest of africa have stock exchanges, they have many foreign investors and the returns are good. i think there should be some restrictions on indians nationals doing business in Africa , the Africans in india are being treated very unkind
ikatel Charles well if an employee is mistreated there are courts where this can be addressed. Some of us contribute towards organizations that are leading the way in suing on behalf of workers. The courts in Africa work. Just that sometimes people are too poor to get information or go to courts but it’s possible with creating awareness around worker rights. Most of this is government failure and nothing else. Any investor will respect your laws if you enforced them and created severe penalties for mistreating workers.
@@hayonimengi4171 with what money if they have to work for someone who doesn't respect them and are abusive and pay them a potence in wages hire will they get legal help? Are these do called lawyers doing it pro bono
O Wanjera p
It's not true actually... being Indian I condemn your statement...we Indians love to respect all without any bias...some of them may do behave wrongly... But you can't generalise and apply to all of us Indians...here in India we treat good .n. respect with thousands of African students who pursuing their academic courses in Indian universities...we know better how to respect all...
Not true Indians are hard working and honest .I gave my relatives money to build my house all gone
Being and from Dodoma this makes me feel privileged, thank you Doctor.
You're welcome.
Incredible work that Dr Harnet is doing for the continent of Africa and the diaspora.
Thank you for your kind feedback, Eddie, I appreciate it.
Tanzania is on my list of countries to visit next year for business. I will definitely consider the capital city Dodoma to try to establish a business there. Thanks for the information. You're doing a great job, Dr. Harnet.
You're welcome you won't regret
Thank you!
Have you started business in Tanzania?? If yes, then tell me how is difficult to do. I am also planning to do the same.
Come to invest not to exploit
Sure
I love that Dr Harnet is speaking more about East Africa. Places like Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda are the hidden jewels of Africa. Too bad Eritrea and Djibouti can't make the list too. 🤗
She is from Eritrea
Let’s pray for all 55 countries do better n grow.
Im. Ghanaian 🇬🇭 and i love Eritreans including Dr Harnet and im confident in future Eritrea will be great. All hope is not lost
Dr. Harnet, thank you for feeding us such vital informations. May God bless you!
Very unique indeed. Thank you very much Dr Harnet.
Are there presently direct flights originating from regions in Ethiopia to Dodoma?
The state owns all land in Tanzania. Therefore, there is no private ownership allowed for both citizens and non-citizens.
However a long term lease [max. 99 years] or sub-lease from a citizen can be done.
Noo people can own anything... Am from Tanzania
Man how Ghana is with the land issue it is very bad so if the land can be lease then that is good no one will be fighting over nothing no one will go to no juju doctor to do evil on each other
What if I invest in a building or land and the government wants it back ? What are my rights ?

Great information as usual Dr. Harnet! Does this mean you are no longer physically taking groups to those respective countries that you mentioned on this video?? Everything will now be online??
Hi Avery, I am still very much leading business missions on the ground in Africa! The online business missions are only additional, so we can get the key information from African government and private sector stakeholders to many more people. In business, informed decisions are much stronger decisions! :)

The Tanzanian government has announced more details of the Dodoma Masterplan which is the complete regeneration of the area into a world class city......very exciting. They are now looking to attract businesses and investors. There are so many opportunities here.
Hello Dr. Are you still in Dodoma? I'm currently working with an NGO helping the youth affected with drug abuse, TB, HIV/AIDS IN Dodoma.
JAH GUIDE. #oneafrica.
