I saw Santana in 73 at Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City NJ. They looked exactly like that! Same singers and Carlos was dressed in white. I was under the stage watching the concert. Wish this was the clip. Unforgettable show!
Santana jammed just like this for 300,000 people at the California Jam, Ontario Motor Speedway 1978. I was pressed up against the fence 15 feet away from him the whole time. Came in 15 years old, left 21
I was at this show!! Day on the Green line up: The Outlaws, Santana, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Peter Frampton. Same line up on July 2 and 4th 1977. My first concert. I was 15 and visiting a cousin - I was from a small farming town in Illinois and this day changed my world. Thanks for posting.
this ia exelent video for the santana fans i always gonna remember this album the one before moonflower another great album the 2 live album under the santana belt
Ah, Santana during his "Devadip" years. This was my 2nd-favorite lineup after the classic Santana; a true fusion unit of Latin/Rock/Jazz. By the way, the songs included in this clip are "Carnaval", "Let the Children Play", and "Jugando". Thanks for the post!
En este video Santana ya esta con poco pelo, lo recuerdo cuando lucia su Africa, guapisimooooo ,lo recuerdo hace cuchucientos anos, hasta ahora lo sigo y disfruto de su musica.
wow, i wish carlos would play some of these tracks in some of his show these days, this from the day on the green show, i have the grateful dead playing on this show from them, both S.F.
I like watching the older videos of Santana. Thanks for uploading. Even though you don't see him, Neal Schon was with Santana, but during this time of the video, he was with Journey.
Tom Coster (keyboards) was wearing an "Eric Clapton" tee shirt. I know Carlos and Eric are mates, so I'm sure Carlos wasn't fussed. It's just funny that the guy works for one of the great guitarists in the world and he's got another great guitarist's tee shirt. Just an observation, not a judgment.
This is a GREAT clip!!! Btw, does anyone know who the timbalero is? This must be from the period in 1977 when Chepito left the band and right before Pete Escovedo came in on timbales and Armando Peraza returned. And this band features TOM COSTER..my FAVORITE Santana keyboardist ever. TONS OF CHOPS AND TASTE FOR DAYS AND DAYS!!!
The drummer is definately Graham Lear..the great.....David Margen on bass, Tom Coster on Keyboards...Raul Rekow.congas...and Greg Walker..vocals...not sure who is on timbales tho.
The bass player har such thunderous but soft tone,in spite of the bands frenzied energy there at the end.i didn't really care for this lineup, but I've overlooked the bass player, he's putting in down.
Thats definately not Pete Escovedo. Maybe one of his sons, but not Pete, even tho Pete was touring with Carlos about this time. Pete would have been in his mid 40s around this date....not even close
Since the 1970's I've been to multiple Santana concerts were the sound man was screwed! Here is a case in point. Vocal mics not ready? Come on! Greg Walker singing into a dead mic? Is Carlos just too nice to fire losers? The last concert I saw of him was like '97. Same story decades later. Get a sound man Carlos please!

This song makes the children, adults, old folks and birdies sing. Santana, I love you man.

It's Moonflower time! Carlos and the fellows are in top form! I love it when he does his own singing, too!
Day on the Green was always great.

You have to admit, Graham Lear and Mike Shrieve look a lot alike.
Pete Escovedo on timbales
enn
@charulinpinpon Nope, It's Graham Lear.
Oye como va.....!!
Hi bro
Around 6.30 what the f*** is Coster doing to those poor Arp synths. They're crying out for mercy!!
Let your band members sing babe.
did I see jorge santana too?
Greg Walker is tall.
RAUL
Ah, The Oakland A's Baseball Stadium.
santana is not a 2 of spade ... he s a King
That's correct....Common mistake cause he looks a bit like Mike..LOL
think it s graham lear on drums
Nope, Not Shreive...He was out by this time..This is Graham Lear who looks like Shreive.
Lot of folks asking who several Members are..... Me thinks the Soul-Sis off to the LEFT of Carlos is none other than HIS WIFE Deborah Santana......
Who is the Timbale player?
Los Lobos, Carlos Santana and such like still listen from time to time even though it is somewhat dated
Thats definately not Pete Escovedo. Maybe one of his sons, but not Pete, even tho Pete was touring with Carlos about this time. Pete would have been in his mid 40s around this date....not even close
To everybody asking who the timbales player is the great Eddie colon.
Bobby Sicilia
Thanks for let us know. Did Eddie Colon played for Ray Barretto?

Santana...what the hell happened to you?
Who the fuck lets their lead singer play the maracas?
México.... Not Mejico. Please write it right!!!
lol @ Eric Clapton TShirt ;-) Carlos is 100x Better than Eric.
Let the children play stop taking advantage of them and abusing
"Santana" was givin' a guitar as a gift by
"Santa" and then taught to play by
"Satan" himself.🎸🧑🎄👹😈
A great singer, but Greg W. is more than a bit out of tune here....
And out of time with the cowbell
