The Messi vs Ronaldo GOAT debate/rivalry always comes up when talking about Football. It's like Magic vs Bird V2.0.
Both are pretty much undeniably the greatest footballers of this generation (and of all time). And even though their games are quite different, stats and achievement wise they are ridiculously similar.
Ronaldo is physically dominant. He is 6'2 and jumps ridiculously high (as you saw in the previous video). That combined with that deadly shot of his and he is a scoring threat every time he is near the goal with or without the ball. He is also quite passionate which can rally the whole team.
Messi on the other hand is super short (like 5'7 or something). He was actually diagnosed with some sort of not growing normally condition and was given growth hormones as a teen. Otherwise he would have been even shorter (like 5'4 max). Still, he dominates the game with his absurd maneuvers with the ball. Dude doesn't seem to have any regards for the laws of physics. He always seems to find space to make a great pass or finish himself.
I think Messi has a little edge over Ronaldo in terms of achievements, and he was a little better at his prime imo (coming from a casual fan). But Ronaldo's game has aged a little better
(both still playing at 34 and 36) and you could easily make the case for either one.
My opinion may be influenced by Ronaldo's arrogant and narcissistic behavior when he was younger. Still haven't gotten over it XD
Messi vs Ronaldo debate is just creation of Media. If you watch them week in week out you know who is the best and there is not even a comparison. Watching football since 2002 now. And I don't think we've ever seen or ever will see anything like leo messi again.
