God I wish mine would do this. He loves loves loves getting in the shower with me (on his shower perch) but will tear my eyeballs out if I try to get him anywhere near actual running water. Sometimes he'll let me dribble a sponge on him, but mostly I think he just likes the sound (of the water) and the company.
Well birds like bathing them selves at at certain way and time. Personally my love bird loves using a boal (his extra drinking boal). Maybe your bird doesn't like the shower and might like using a boal or mist from a spray bottle, just experiment and see what they like. :)

Aww, my first budgie I named him Dino :D I had 3 in all, sometimes I'd disconnect the upper part of the cage, the bars, put it in the sink, and put lukewarm stream of water on, for the bird to run through, back and forth Afterwards I'd sniff deep whiffs of the freshly showered bird :D
this is lovely and you owners are lovely but I want to say that the stream is to heavy and the bird cant go under it because it would hurt him. If you pour it very gently, eaven drop by drop he would seat under it. All the best
I worried geting this type would lead to a Lot of annoying noises, Conure's too. BUT, I guess you can get into a routine and have lots of enrichment. They are fun !!
Silly Fool The lack of water in third world countries is mostly a result of poverty and poor infrastructure, caused by corrupt goverments that neglect them. Not because people in developed countries "use too much water"

Try a gentle mist then a gentle shower. They don't like the force of the water, just the spray.

ThaBiggMac I found that my caique loves the water to be just below lukewarm. Generally, if he doesn't like it, he won't run through!
Usually the water is just lightly warn. If its comfortable to the touch and doesn't feel cold then its good to go
