Today, I've been wearing Amouage "Jubilation XXV Man". "Jubilation XXV Man" is my favorite Amouage fragrance- it is a reminder to me that cedar is one of my favorite notes in fragrances, and I highly recommend this fragrance. I love "Interlude Man" too: it's my second favorite from Amouage. "Epic Man" is not bad, but I don't prefer it because it is too castoreum-prominent for my taste. Those are the only three Amouages I've tried.
Another great review..thanks Sebastian. However I’m wondering why you’ve left out Beloved Man, Jubilation XXV and Dia Man which I find to be lovely as well?
When I first started my fragrance journey, Amouage was one house i wanted to check out before any other. Reflection Man was also my introduction to the house, and I did not care for it at all. At the same time I sampled Journey Man and loved it immediately. It was my first full bottle purchase, I still have it and wear it. I am surprised that it is never mentioned when you see Amouage lists, and was so so surprised to see it on yours at 1. I’m dying to get my hands on Material now. Enjoyed this one Thanks !
Thanks, Sebastian for giving a thorough rundown on my absolute favorite house. Jubilation XXV, Reflection Man, and Honor Man are my favorites. Rocking Beach Hut Man right now. Meander is nice as well.🤩👍✊👌
I currently bought 10 samples of this house and so far these are my top four... 1-Reflection 2-Beach Hut 3-Overture 4-Journey And I have yet to sample a few more
I have 14 Amouage bottles in my collection, and I must say my favorite is Beloved Man! Really surprised that you don't have Jubilation XXV in your collection! Also I think you will appreciate the experimental Imitation Man (Very hard wear for me tho) Looking forward to get Boundless and Memoir.
I approached this house with high expectations, about a year ago. I got three decants of the most hyped ones: Interlude, Reflection, and Jubilation. To my nose they came across quite good but nothing mind blowing at all. I left them underwhelmed , and turned my exploration focus on several other niche houses… Except that after a year of sampling 100+ niche fragrances, and a few times of revisiting the Amouage samples, now I’m looking for a bottle of Jubilation to buy and to add to my smallish collection of 10 carefully picked fragrances. The other two remained underwhelming. Thanks to your video I know which new samples I have to get for further exploration.
Jub 25 seems to get the most hype since it’s one youtubers have raved about. But like you, it just wasn’t anything special to me. From the house my favorites are Journey and Memoir, never smelled anything so spicy and peppery such as Journey.
Glad you mentioned Silver Man. It may feel a little old school for some Amouage fans. I think it's beautiful though! Certainly one of the most elegant fragrances from this house.
To me Beach Hut should be like Tropical Island Jungle Hut. The feeling i get is more dense foliage, so maybe the hut is back off the beach in the jungle? Swiss Family Hut.
I agree with you completely. But in my description of my test wear, I described it as not only being back off the beach, but 6 inches under the soil. Very dense.
I have a flask version of Silver Man, from when they had those silver cases for them. I don't think I've ever worn it, smelling it on a strip is more than I can handle. Also surprised that you didn't mention Jubilation XXV, that is one of my favorites, along with Dia Man.
My favorite and the only one for which I have a full bottle is Bracken Man. The most photorealistic Fougere ever, it smells literally like you pull a fern up out of the moist ground in a marshy area, roots and all with the soil still clinging to the roots. The cloves contribute to the formation of this photorealistic accord. But this is more of a modern take on the CLASSIC Fougere, not a "barbershop" fougere. I differentiate the two, mainly by soapy/powdery accords in the "barbershop" Fougere displacing much of the earthy greenness of actually replicating the fern smell. Bracken is very similar to the 2010 reimagined "Granddaddy of them (classic fougeres) all": Houbigant Fougere Royale.
One of the most underrated from Amouage, and perhaps my favourite. I have a feeling the people who call it "barbershoppy" steer some potential buyers away. Incredibly modern, and nothing dated or "dad cologne" about it. Bracken, for me, is much more of a "scentscape" wear. A vibe. A real outdoorsy, foresty, ultra-natural smell that's simultaneously autumnal (with the warm spice) and springtime (with the damp greenery). I'd put it closer to a Slumberhouse-esque creation than a typical "barbershop fougere". Gorgeous stuff.
Just got my nose on this house, and Journey is my favorite. The way the spice and pepper dance with the tobacco and leather is just absolutely beautiful. Memoir Man is runner up for me. Didn’t have a chance to try Myths Man, but that is one on my radar as well. Great video! I’ve seen numerous videos where people say they don’t know what occasion to wear Journey, but imo I think it’d make a great fall/winter signature scent.
Can't believe jubilation XXV is not on this list. 🤔 My top 5. 1. Jubilation XXV 2. Journey man 3. Epic Man 4. Boundless 5. Interlude Man. Love the channel, keep churning out the great content. 👍
Figment Man is the only one from the house in my collection and one of my favourite fragrances. Heavy on the soil and animalic, but with a uplifting citron in the opening. Another one I've sampled and liked was Myths Man. Although our tastes don't usually align, I do always enjoy your videos. Keep up the great videos.
Amouage is a house that is still new to me and I haven't purchased anything from them yet because of the price tag, but sooner or later I'll definitely get Journey man and Interlude because I love them so much. Thank you for the video!
hi Sebastian my favorites as per below and I have them all reflection 45 interlude 53 overture interlude jubilation 25 lyric man enclave potrayal honor man beach hut man black iris
Beach Hut, the name is a perfect name for that fragrance, coming from a person who lives in the tropics. Imagine you're on an unspoilt, tropical island. Now imagine you're sitting inside a hut on the beach which adjoins a forest. As you sit inside this hut, you smell the woods and various leaves that were taken from the forest to build it. Hence the name, Beach Hut.
From the first time I tried Jubilation XXV man it was love at first smell. The first compilation being the best in my not so humble opinion. The reformulation was a bit louder but not quite as refined. I had considered buying a bottle at the end of 2021 but read a few reviews from people in Canada from an online retailer claiming it was a weaker formulation. This caused me great consternation. Not sure if anyone here has heard anything but would be nice to know if you have. Lyric man was pretty good juice too.
I bought Jubilation from 1 month, and to be honest I really enjoying it. They said about the new formulation and it is not strong as before; but to be honest never tried the old one, but I am enjoying it
When I wear journey man I get a fair amount of compliments. I've also been told that it makes me smell like the inside of a Kirklands store. Two of my mail coworkers told me when I wear journey man it makes me smell like an old man. The good news is I wear the fragrance because I love it. My wife also loves journey woman.
I will always keep Beach Hut Man as part of my collection, but I've either sold off of the rest of their offerings that I owned or retired them to my bottom drawer. Personally, for me, most of their catalog got boring and I didn't get that "wow" factor long after the first couple of weeks of owning it. It's hard to put into words, but I find most of their releases are just a "meh" and for the price point, other houses/fragrances are more intriguing and hold my attention longer.
Big fan of Amouage. I don't hear many people talk about Portrayal Man but glad you did and I agree with ya, it's a keeper. No Jubilation Man? That's a holy grail of the House in my opinion.
Great review from a great youtuber about a great house I own most of the “man” line fragrances and my personal top 10 are: jubilation 25 gold lyric beach hut honor dia imitation Interlude Overture Meander
Thanks Sebastian love the video & this house , one of my top 3 houses ... I love Boundless for my Tobacco frag , but I own Journey Man , Interlude & Interlude Black Iris as well as Memoir Man . I look forward to try a few more in the video and plan on getting Interlude 53 . Cheers Brutha 😎
Sooo.... XLNT talk on Amouage... and I picked up a bottle of Reflection yesterday.....it is XLNT! And Lyric is on my list. If it's anywhere near Tom Ford's Black Orchid...it's worthy! thanks!
The Beach Hut Man to me is the smell of the 'Hut' and not the "Beach" itself. I'm imagining the Hut being made out of bamboo with moss and ferns outside, slightly minty and woody bamboo. Also, WHERE'S JUBILATION??!!!
First night tonight trying interlude man and I love it, definitely buying a bottle. I bought about 50 samples recently of definitely houses and enjoying my journey so far 😍
Amouage is luxurious. An ancient type of luxury of the Sultans of the Arabian peninsula. Probably as close as I will come to it, but it brings me there, and when a scent fires my imagination like that I know it is a great one. Sebastian this is your year!
I just recently discovered the house of Amouage and it has quickly become a favorite. Overture is my favorite, followed by Boundless, Black Iris, Jubilation, and Epic. Still a lot to discover. Agreed the new extraits are amazing, but way overpriced. How is Jubilation XXV not in your list?!?!
I certainly plan to try "Bracken Man" because I love cloves in fragrances, and because I can like aromatic fougeres. I plan to try a lot of fragrances from your list.
Beach hut man is supposed to smell like sipping a mojito in a bamboo and grass beach but. Not ozonic. But I get what you are saying. I was worried you were not going to include it on the list. It's my favorite on here and lasts forever as well
Epic is the only Amouage that I have a backup bottle of. Purchased about 8 years ago. I wonder how reformulated versions compare. My version lasts 24 hours into drydown. Fate is another favorite that some find challenging, but ohh, is it good. I love Journey Man too, and it's in my collection. Some unmentioned ones I own and love: Jubilation XXV, Opus VII, and Opus X, which is my vote for the most masculine true rose scent ever, but sadly discontinued I believe.
It's fascinating to me how we all experience things differently - good advice to always sample before you buy. My favorites (so far) from this house are: Overture Journey Jubilation XXV Fate I haven't sampled Beach Hut or Bracken yet, but it seems like I would like those. I like Lyric, but it smells rather one-note to me: Rose, rose and more rose. Which is fine, but not very interesting. The two fragrances I can't wrap my head around, however, are also two of the most popular: Interlude and Reflection. Interlude, to me, smells like smoke and ash, with an underlying, indistinct sweetness. Unique but certainly not pleasant. Reflection just smells like a chemical floral explosion; Grandma c. 1974. But other people really enjoy these scents. I wish I could.
i recently bought Reflection, the first notes were exactly that, chemical floral, but unlike anything i have ever smelled before. i was charmed and i HAD to get it. After about an hour, it mellows down, the chemical spike goes away, and it smells warm and flowery. I smile whenever i apply it, I'm very happy with it. Now i am very interested in Jubilation XXV and Overture, heard a lot of good recommendations. How would you explain those 2 scents? (different people have different way of explaining scents, but your seems to really resonate with me so I'm interested in your explanation precisely :D)
I agree with some of the comments in that Jubilation 25 is missing from your list. It’s this scent of a king that lured me to the Amouage house. But oh well, it is your fav list after all 🙂
Those who are "shocked" that Sebastian didn't feature Jub 25. It's for the same reason I don't buy one. The current formulation is watered down. Think La Nuit D'Lhomme. Not worth it until they release the extrait.
@@ThePerfumeGuyIt could be those who have the pre reformulation are the ones who are singing it's praises. Those who have the current one know the reality of being underwhelmed.
Exactly!!! Went in to a shop today to check out ysl and was utterly disappointed. Barely a noticeable scent on the tester and wasn't interested in what was there. Ended up finding an extrait by some company H&H called king oak and it's incredible! 2 sprays was all it took to last all day can't find anything online about it but bottle said it was from Paris is parfums? Really sucks cause I just got into fragrances recently and would like another bottle in the future :/
@@countbooga6997 The newest release of La Nuit called Bleu Electrique lasts about 8 hours. Noticable projection for the first 2. I have it and it smells just like the original, but actually performs. Sadly, its over $100 for a 60 ml and only sold online
Great list and I enjoyed it and I like Amouage Interlude Black Iris and Amouage Reflection Man and Amouage Sunshine man and Amouage Enclave and Amouage Gold Man and I'm going to try the rest of the house and have a blessed night.
Thank you very much for the video. I was waiting for it. It is a pity that there is no comment on when to wear them such as: day or evening and summer or winter.
Actually I tried different samples of Amouag perfumes but none of them I can wear and I did not see any attractiveness in their perfumes beside they are very expensive Last perfumes house I can think about when it comes to buy a perfume! Thanks
Enclave to me is just a minty beast... I love it only for winter/fall.... For some reason that mint note on my skin is too much for any type of heat.. Keep em coming💪🏿 "THUMBS UP'🥊🔔
I like Memoir Man and Interlude Woman both being from Karine Vinchon Spehner but I haven't sampled her other Amouage creations as I don't mess with Cumin.
Great video Sebastian! I thoroughly enjoyed your list of your favorite Amouage fragrances. It's a wonderful house and I need to get my nose on many of the fragrances you've mentioned today!
Sebastian you surprised me because I thought you may like Jubilation XXV Man but it did not make your list & again one my favourite from the house was your No.1 Journey Man not many people speak about this 2014 release the other I really enjoyed is Reflection Man I found this content very useful thank you
He has a gripe with jubilation xxv because it makes you look for palaces on Zillow, research on how to domesticate a tiger, and how to occupy oil reserves..
Hi Sebastian Yes indeed journey is one of the best of Amouage . However I don’t like bracken by the way where is beloved For me Beloved Journey Boundless Interlude black Enclave
I'm a woman, an d fairly new to fragrances. I'm just now getting into Amouage, and have tried Sunshine Woman and Lyric Woman. I'm curious--what makes Amouage's fragrances labeled as Man vs. Woman? Florals? Are the "women's" scents softer? Do men wear any of the women's scents and vice versa? TIA!

Agreed beloved is best but it has poor performance
The jubilation is so weak.. 😶
Two of my fave Amouage's that's not mentioned here is Myths Man. Also love the New York in the 70's scent, Imitation Man.
both are so underrated

I agree with some of the comments in that Jubilation 25 is missing from your list. It’s this scent of a king that lured me to the Amouage house. But oh well, it is your fav list after all 🙂
Yea I didn’t care for it but I’ll try again!
1-jubilation
2-journey
3-opus xi
4-myths
5-interlude
For beach hut I imagine a marina in the off-season. It's starting to get chilly, the tourists are gone, lots of autumn rain, etc.
If you like Interlude/Black Iris Man try Bvlgari Man Terrae Essence
Great Video ! I have a lot of these. Honor Man ,Imitation Man Jubilation 25 Beach Hut Man and Lyric ! Epic was my first purchase from this house!
Jubilation 25 was my first niche fragrance experience.
I am surprised that you missed Jubilation XXV Man, and ranked Epic Man at last. Both are great fragrances.
Those who are "shocked" that Sebastian didn't feature Jub 25. It's for the same reason I don't buy one. The current formulation is watered down. Think La Nuit D'Lhomme. Not worth it until they release the extrait.
Yes it’s not anything special to me and I have heard nothing but good things about so not sure what people are raving about?
@@ThePerfumeGuyIt could be those who have the pre reformulation are the ones who are singing it's praises. Those who have the current one know the reality of being underwhelmed.
@@ThePerfumeGuy 👍 what about the amouage library collection (Opus).Do they interest you. We need your rating on that please.
Fate was my first amouage, still one of the best perfumes I have ever smelled, my second amouage is jubilation 25
Great Video Sebastian. Surprisingly no Jubilation 25 or Dia, which would be my #1 & #2, followed by Lyric, Portrayal and Beach Hut.
Will try Jub again and will try and sample Dia. 😀
LYRIC BEACH HUT REFLECTION AND JUBI 25 THE BEST
Great list and I enjoyed it and I like Amouage Interlude Black Iris and Amouage Reflection Man and Amouage Sunshine man and Amouage Enclave and Amouage Gold Man and I'm going to try the rest of the house and have a blessed night.
Honor and Beach Hut are the two that I wear the most.
Journey Man at no 1 is a pleasent surprise to me, as it's so underrated. Mine favourite from the line.
It’s so so good!!
I usually wear boundless, it sticks in my clothes for days ❤️
I love Enclave and Boundless very modern but classic type scents.
One of the best videos on UA-cam braking down Amouge best frags.. big like 👍
This is a great house. Lyric man and Beach hut man are two of the best fragrances ever made.
Thank you very much for the video. I was waiting for it. It is a pity that there is no comment on when to wear them such as: day or evening and summer or winter.
1 Jubilation
2. Epic
3. Interlude
4. Reflection
5. Lyric
Jubi didn’t really work for me.
Happy new year Sebastian.. What was the bonus from the 90’s?
Actually I tried different samples of Amouag perfumes but none of them I can wear and I did not see any attractiveness in their perfumes beside they are very expensive
Last perfumes house I can think about when it comes to buy a perfume!
Thanks
Beach Hut is a Beach, but a beach in the dry desert
Amouage Interlude and Boundless are among my collection...one word awesome
Enclave to me is just a minty beast... I love it only for winter/fall.... For some reason that mint note on my skin is too much for any type of heat.. Keep em coming💪🏿 "THUMBS UP'🥊🔔
Mint bomb? 🌿💣🌿
Lyric man gets me compliments everywhere I go
Awesome Videos. My favorites are Epic and lyric. Epic is really epic collection of notes. And lyric is nice spicy rose !!!
I like Memoir Man and Interlude Woman both being from Karine Vinchon Spehner but I haven't sampled her other Amouage creations as I don't mess with Cumin.
I do really like Gold man....
Hi Sebastian...what do you think about Epic Man ....I would love to know ...thanks 🙏🏻🥂
Here in this video: ua-cam.com/video/Tr12gqANX1A/v-deo.html I discuss it.
I was in selfridges the other day and I started thinking they’d gotten rid of the caps. I ain’t know they were only for testers🤣
Hi Sebastian Yes indeed journey is one of the best of Amouage . However I don’t like bracken by the way where is beloved
For me
Beloved
Journey
Boundless
Interlude black
Enclave
There are some that I don’t know like Beloved or Figment, Myths or Dia. 🥲
@@ThePerfumeGuy ok I see figment is very bad however dia and myth are not bad here in Oman gold and intrude are very famous
@@ThePerfumeGuy I have all Amouage man collection except latest reflection
I'm a woman, an d fairly new to fragrances. I'm just now getting into Amouage, and have tried Sunshine Woman and Lyric Woman. I'm curious--what makes Amouage's fragrances labeled as Man vs. Woman? Florals? Are the "women's" scents softer? Do men wear any of the women's scents and vice versa? TIA!
Such perfect timing for this video as I was just looking into trying fragrances from this house.
Awesome!!
Beloved man is a great one!
Amouage is watering down their fragrances just like Creed. Too bad because it was my favourite house. Luckily I still have some of my vintage bottles!
Say it ain’t so!
Great house. I would go with Overture Man, it's the best from this house.
