What happens to a person's brain when having been treated with a low-dose of an atypical antipsychotic for years, i.e. Sulpiride (high binding to D1 receptor)? Will that person have more D1 receptors afterwards and feel more "activated" after Sulpiride withdrawal? Thank you!
@FarhadTv True. It's a process called down regulation of the post synaptic neuron dopamine receptors. They don't disappear. Instead they retract due to hyper stimulation from coke continuous usage and don't work the way they should ever again.
@entehrend not after long term use, which is what the addict will do either way, the synapsis and some brain stems and cells are scarred for life , we try to raise the bottom of the addict and alcoholic,, poly addiced person.
I recently got hooked on coke and it's no joke. It will make you feel like superman but costs a lot. I currently snort about 1.5-2g a day atleast and thats not even bad. Luckily I have a good paying job so I can afford it. But remember it's addictive as hell because it makes you fell invincible but will slowly dry your life away. It's not just a 1 kind of party deal. You'll want to feel that rush again. If its for 1 night remind yourself that. It makes you crave liquor as well. I'm 19 years old snorting 2g a day and drinking 1.75ml of vodka a day. It's taking 1/2 my check atleast just for coke. Maybe do it 1 time and do it. Fuck coke. Please be safe bc the only reason i tried it is bc I want to kms.
I find it interesting that once you have cocaine, the number of your dopamine receptors decrease. Also once that happens you don't enjoy things as much.
Your information on dopamine is out-dated. A release of dopamine is associated with the motivation to perform an action, not pleasure from completing it.
well they say that eating chocolate after/during sex makes the experience a lot better (I think only for girls though... :/) but yeah go ahead and try it lol
so technically if you take your friend out just for an ice-cream...its equivalent of having sex with her.....so after we've had our ice-creams....i can say..''that was nice baby'' lol just saying
I think this argument against drugs is kinda repetitive. The more you do something you enjoy, the less it will have any effect on you. This isn't a drug related effect, anything that you perform alot does that.
Excessive dopamine will cause Schizophrenia and lack of Dopamine will cause Parkinsonism.
Don't mess with nervous system.

So this is what's happening in my brain right now... Interesting.
RightAway87 lolll
RightAway87 lol nice one 😁👌 be safe
😂😂
Simple and clear, very nice!!
Thank you this was very helpful for my presentation😇
Thank for the help in pharmacology
this is really helpful

This makes physiological addiction very easy to understand. This same process seems to be in place in some other drugs as well.
Wow very clear thanks!
Great work!!!
Great explanation
thanks for the informations ;)
Thanks 🙏🏻 ✋🏻best teacher
I thought this was an awesome video. It helped a ton.
Does the dendrite absorb the neurotransmitters or release them after they bind?
Good Job!
Awesome video! =)
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't dopamine primarily inhibitory? Would be better with a minus in the postsynaptic dendrite I think.
Whats the epigenetic process then?
Why can't the body just leave the dopamine receptors alone so that it would always feel like the first few times you've taken the drug??
Sorry, but the receptors do not grow back. They get burnt out over time and/or with heavy use. Hence the Old Saying "You're a burnout" ..
Thank you!!!
Do you have this on a website somewhere, so that i can cite this?

If it wasn't for your video I don't think i would had done my exam
Thank you ♥️
I hope those dopamine receptors grow back!
i answer myself here:
Major neurotransmitters:
Amino acids:
glutamate, aspartate, D-serine, γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA), glycine
Monoamines and other biogenic amines:
dopamine (DA), norepinephrine (noradrenaline; NE, NA), epinephrine (adrenaline), histamine, serotonin (SE, 5-HT)
Others:
acetylcholine (ACh), adenosine, anandamide, nitric oxide, etc.
source wikipedia.
Dr.Rockzo
i did try it! :D ..but i got banned from the ice cream shop.. :(
so do the receptors regenerate over time or is it a permanent loss
***** what about my sugar addiction, can things go back to normal, and how do I do this
Ik I'm 5 years late but it's a permanent loss
Leen Jad how do you know if it's a permanent loss, do you have a source?
Also your talking about dopamine down regulation right?
when i first had icecream 12 years ago? kids......

LOL icecream sex.. thank you doctor :)
cocaines a hell of a drug

I hope you’re able to quit
Psychedelics deal with Serotonin and DMT with MAOI's in the same way !
i am stady thes in bac high school

Could someone find a way to stop that adaption happening?
@@kevinfacts5200 no thats how the brain protects itself. Otherwise an amphetamines addiction would literally fry your brain.
Then you had a great night.

96' halloween
Anyone that does "Coke". all I can say is "Good Luck" 'cause you're going to need it in the end. Oh yea. There is an end.
dopamine = wanting
endorphines = pleasure
"brain cells cannot regenerate or be recreated"
how about you read biology textbooks...it will help..
well they say that eating chocolate after/during sex makes the experience a lot better (I think only for girls though... :/) but yeah go ahead and try it lol
So once I die and go to heaven I will forget who I am ? ( lol I'm a heathen xD )
so technically if you take your friend out just for an ice-cream...its equivalent of having sex with her.....so after we've had our ice-creams....i can say..''that was nice baby''
lol just saying
Tell this to CHARLIE SHEEN lol :D
meth- synthetic happiness
Cocaine is worlds cup of coffee
yayyy :>

Tell that to the brain 🧠 though
boring!
