Everyone, all the comments about Chef Jean are spot on, he is a treasure. Aside from that, try this recipe it is the best chocolate chip cookie I have ever baked. Easy.
I love him because he always seems so excited about what he makes, admits that sometimes he screws up, and he always seems happy and not arrogant.
I love him too because he IS actually that excited ! He Loves his work and cooking. An honest guy.... messes up sometimes, admits it, and carries on....
So not like other French chefs. He is great!

I just made this cookie recipe. Chef is right, these really ARE the best chocolate "chip" cookie I have ever eaten. I was a little worried that all that molasses would add an unusual taste, but it disappears into the gooey deliciousness and is not detectable on it's own. Instead, they will become a constant confectionery in my home. I LOVE this cookie recipe. I printed out the page and placed it in my favorite recipes folder.

Great recipe, now my go-to cookie recipe to satisfy my chocolate craving. Just want to point out that your online recipe says bake at 350 while the video says 325 degrees. I baked at 350 and the cookies were hard but 20 seconds in a microwave per cookie helps. I think my first bake was at 325 and the cookies were softer. Looking forward to making my third batch.

Just made these cookies, and like the dozens of your recipes I've made over the last 2 years, they do not disappoint! A real nice balance!!
I did not have bread flour on hand and maybe this is why when I replaced it with normal flour but the batter was a bit dry. I just added a few splashes of milk,mix, and it was nice cookie dough. Came out delightful just be patient and wait 5 mins before putting them on cooling rack. Just mentioning in case it helps anyone, God bless!

I will try yours as I can almost taste it. Try mine? Basic c. chip recipe (whatever you like). I chop dry montmorcey cherries , hydrate them and chopped black walnuts. Sometimes I add a single drop *because that stuff is strong) Fiori di Sicily. It is my signature cookie.

These cookies were a hit Chef. I used macadamia nuts and served them for dessert with strong coffee with a splash of Kahlua. Perfection.
He is not kidding. These are the best cookies ever both with and without the cocoa powder. Nothing compares and I have been eating cookies for over 50 years as well. This cookie is top notch.
