Another great video, teacher! Just a few additions: - before launching a comparison, remember to bring the kids you keep in your main team only for growth purposes back to your B team. Keep only the kids you actually play - you can cross compare attacking and defensive attributes. For instance, you can have defenders with positioning higher than average, but if you play in a league with very high off the ball, it might still not be enough - the roles-specific attribute importance in the tactic screen is not perfect, but still very accurate. Comparing it with your team's average might help you greatly in roles selection Keep up the excellent work! I really hope this will become the most followed FM channel before the FM25 (FM26?) release
These last 2 videos are perfectly timed for me. Won promotion to the national league in my 1st season with Dartford and didn’t know what to do with my team heading into preseason. I appreciate these videos so much.
Amazing work. Stumbled across your channel. I just watched four videos (this one, create your tactical philosophy, sweeper keeper and half back) but you explain everything so simply and without unnecessary chatter. You get straight to the point. Very refreshing. Definitely earned that sub and my likes. I haven't been playing for very long. This is my first FM. I recently started a journeyman with no experience and no badges and after a total of six years in the german non league (6th, 5th and 4th division), I've finally earned a spot in german professional football (3rd division). And at my hometown club too which makes it even better. I took them over in the middle of a relegation battle. I'm now facing the winter break. Perfect for a reset. However, the many new possibilities overwhelmed me at the beginning but your videos show that all you need is a clear plan and a somewhat systematic approach. Keep up the good work.
thank you for the comment and for supporting the channel :) Here in the states our soccer/football teams don't have relegation and promotion sadly, so I can't imagine how cool it is to be able to take your local club through the ranks of a division
Id challenge the opinion of using players to their "natural" position. If the guy has the attributes to play a certain role, he doesent need to have it marked for it. Good example is Savanier. I would rather use as a Regista than an M/AM role. Regista that I would use can be always a good slot for a solo or paired up. With him as a regista (he has decent defensive attributes as well+dives into tackles+switches sides with ball), you can have multiple more attacking roles (instead of having him as an AMC, why not add a shadow striker there?) to have more danger generation.
great discussion/counterpoint, thanks for sharing! I like the 4231 anyhow, and always love the 10 role.. so I won't pass up an excuse to use one in a tactic haha. so him being able to play the position and Montpellier has a good core of midfielders, thought this would work for the style I'm going for :D
I've had some ideas on how to do some special events (especially as we get into this Montpellier save). It wouldn't be a recurring twitch-thing or anything, but maybe some one-offs like cup matches or maybe away at PSG 😅
this channel is more and more the place to go for everything FM related. Thanks a lot for your effort. Cant wait to see the next videos in this series.
You saved my day. Im in sen after watcing and hearing your content. You should make these tapes people listen too, when they wants to sleep. You have the most calm voice and its deep too. Its a match made in heaven for such content. Please keep doing FM content. Their are no better in my opinion. Thank you 👍👍
Great video discussing my current favourite topic in FM. Also came at an interesting time as I just got promoted to the Bundesliga and now I want to figure out how to survive the season with my best players at the core of my tactics
Great video, always good to have a check of the players you have, as I have a tendency of plugging and playing my tactics and then dealing with the chaos that ensues! I'm sure it has already been said, but the current ability tab in the Squad page is based on your Assistant Manager's opinion, so their "Judging Player Ability" plays a huge role there. If they are bad, then they'll be inaccurate. Just thought it was worth mentioning. Personally I go offline with an attribute/role calculator but I know that's not for everyone.
thanks for the update/correction on the ast manager and how they could be bad. I didn't want to mention it in the video and open up a whole 'nother can of worms haha.
Whenever I start a new save, I always look at the assistant report found at the top of the squad depth screen. It helps to get an idea of what attributes the squad as a whole are good at. e.g. if the assistant says the squad generally has high flair and off the ball I would be more likely to use 'Be More Expressive' in my tactic.
This was some very good tips. I really like the way you analyzed the squad. Using the assistant manager best xi can also help to see if you have any young talent that is worth keeping, and maybe promoting up to the first team!
Another great video, thanks. An idea for an additional video on attributes could be about attribute groupings and how attributes fit together. For example: which attributes are key for a good dribbler (mental, physical and technical attributes)? Which attributes are involved in ball control, attacking movement, defensive positioning, etc. There are multiple good articles on this online to draw inspiration from. It’s something that’s on my mind at the moment and I’d love to see your take on it
whether by fortune or luck, Montpellier does have a lot of the player roles I love to use 🤣🤣 I saw Savanier could be a 10 playmaker... and I was like well this is going to be River Plate 2.0 😂
great content as always would you do a video about analyzing matches and finding out why your tactic is not working and how to fix it ? would really like to see your thought process during/after a match
thanks :) and I've got that on the schedule to do in the near(ish) future. Once I get to the season with Montpellier, I'll probably do the very first match as a video

@@nelsonpally another way, though it's more time consuming, is to look at your players and check out some of the attributes. So take a striker... what are some of their highest attributes? Is work rate their highest attribute? That's a good attribute for the pressing forward. Do they have good acceleration? That's good for the Poacher. I know it's tough to figure out what attributes are good for a role, but you can always ask in the comments if you've got a specific player question 🙂

How much would you sacrifice player quality for your ideal tactic?
If it came down to it, I would sacrifice the player's preferred role to benefit the tactic.
@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker I do something similar, sometimes I will flip the tactics so it suits the players on the other side
