You know, the best explanation for the Oath's not coming online until 3rd Level that I've heard is that the paladin swears the Oath at Level 1, but it isn't until they have proven themself by keeping their word for two levels that the Oath Magic will reward them by flowing through them fully.
Thank you so much for this video, I've foolishly offered to run a session for my family this Christmas and just realised I'm going to have to make characters for all of them that I can teach them in the space of ten minutes since none of them have played before.
Couple things to add 1. Think not only of yourself but what best suits your party during choosing fighting style and Oath 2. There are lot more Oath's but again based of your tennants choose the one for you 3. Next to Paladin spells a Paladin can do a lot of Cleric spells.
I made a Paladin Oath of Vengeance feat Magic initiate so I could get some cantrips and an extra lvl1 spell at lvl1 Then get blessed warrior fighting style for two more cantrips from the cleric list.
I love the idea of a paladin but o wish they were a 50/50 split between caster& melee instead being like 75% melee but I still like it a lot regardless only thing is I don’t think my preference of race works well with a paladin from what I’m seeing online
Can you share a picture link of the artwork of that female character in plate armor? Looks very good and gives me inspiration for commissioning art for my next character
@@TheRakanow I still rely on my spell casters to keep me alive though because as the tank you take the brunt of the battle. Idk, water finds it’s level man.
Im playing a lawful neutral Paladin as variant human, I rolled pretty well for my stats as in: lowest in intelligence as a 12 but highest and not much difference from the rest of skills in strength as a 17 but because of class and archetype I have a 19 strength (at level one)

Well done guide for new players. Nicely done.
Ohhhh that’s how you know how many spells I wasn’t truly getting it from the book but you have really made sense of it thank you!!
Thank you for the amazing simple video
I am new to DnD so I have benefited plenty from your video
Keep up the great work :D
Thanks so much for this guide. I always play wizard but I wanted to roll a paladin for a one shot and has not much time to prepare
This is a great video and the first I’ve seen that really explains how it works
Thanks! I hope it helped out in your game.
Thanks Rich. New sub here from Oz.
Keep up the great work
It’s funny to see people watching the old videos, I’m glad you liked it.

Is that Dark Souls 2's Majula music at the Oaths explanation?
Thankyou very much I loved this tutorial :)

This was excellent brother! Do you have other videos like this for other classes?
Great video 👍
Love your videos!
what are all the spells?
Great video! When would you want to cast Magic Weapon instead of a Level 2 Divine Smite?

I meant in the thumbnail of course…
great video, thank you!
Great guide
Why does it say I can use Summon Celestial but I cannot add the spell?
With oath spells are those the only spells Ik as a paladin?
No
2:18 this chicks bazongas are either in the middle of her torso or she has a really long neck and a short torso.
"Comment"...for the algorithm.
Comment received, good job!
Why is find steed so recommended? I cannot find any use for it
Movement because you will travel a lot
I made a Dragonborn Paladin
I couldn't that race is a bit OP

Majula theme=like and follow
so can a paladin dual wield and hit with each wepon in the same turn?
Yes if the paladin uses the attack action and then uses there bonus action for an attack with there off hand weapon.
@@RichMerry thanks man! Just discovered your channel and am absolutely loving it so far..keep up

Also AC is 18 because my character has chainmail but wields a longsword and a shield
Just finished my first ever dnd session, and got lucky fighting an owlbear
Which was undead
I think your DM should have lowered you a bit and gave you an extra personal magic item. Those stats are way to overpowered for lvl 1
Such a great video thank you
