    That was very very interesting! Thank you for letting us in on the tools of your craft. I'm fascinated by this video - I was brought up Roman Catholic and am used to seeing the Christian version of some these things - Catholics are very big on candles, for example!
    It was really intriguing to see your 'set up', Alison and I'll look forward to seeing more on that.

    your practice comforts me and feels similar to my own. I myself am not Wiccan but I believe in the God and Goddess, in the way of the Sun and Moon having energies that pull me towards them. Idk if you feel the exact same way but it’s nice hearing someone else say Lord and Lady without it being directly tied to a religion, or it being believed to be exactly real people. I also give offerings to the Universe itself/Nature! I rarely if at all give offerings to any deity as I moreso believe in the bigger picture, the world, the energies of space. Thank you for your insights and sharing your practice!!

      That’s such a kind thing to say, and I really appreciate it, thank you. I absolutely believe in the energies of the Sun and the Moon and that ‘something’ is at work in the universe, and that it has both male and female aspects. I feel it is right to give offerings and show gratitude to the Earth that nurtures and sustains us. I’m really glad you are here, thank you so much x

    I’ve finally found time to set aside to watch this & immerse myself in it!
    I really enjoyed it. I love how you reiterate that you don’t need certain things & that if you do want them then you can build them up, not have to have a sort of ‘shopping list’. Wish list yes, but shopping list, no.
    Interestingly, in your end chat, when you said it’s not about tools etc, I spoke - “ it’s what’s in your heart & your intent”- you then said almost those exact words! That gave me goosebumps & made me feel quite emotional.
    Thank you for all the time & effort you put in to these lovely videos.
    I hope to watch the second books one soon.

    Hi thank you for another great video i really enjoyed this and you took the scaryness of doing spell work out of it. It can be very daunting doing a spell or any work the first time i used to watch alot of American witchcraft videos and got so overwhelmed with them,.not that theres anything wrong with our American cousins or anyone else for that matter im sure you know what i mean hopefully. I would love a video about making black salt please. Have you made witches bottles at all that would be a good one. Oh by the way im half way through the book you recommended by Kate West the one that you read straight through in one sitting The Real Witches Handbook

    Thank you so much, Alison, for this interesting and useful video. My tools are not very traditional , my athame , for instance, is a piece of dagger-shaped wood I found on the beach … I tend to be found by witchy tool rather than look for them. I was impressed by what you said about candles , colours etc. Could you talk a bit more about candle magick? By the way, I ‘d like to know if you re-use the same candles more than once, I saw that the ones on the silver candle holders were not new. If they are basic part of a spell , I use new candles until they are burnt out. But I tend to use again candles from previous sabbats , for example. What do you think about it? Thanks , take care ❤

    • @fifty-somethingwitch2406
      @fifty-somethingwitch2406  9 місяців тому +1

      Hello Antonella! Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I love that your Athame is a piece of wood that you found! Absolutely lovely. As far as candles go, the two ivory ones in my silver candlesticks are my God and Goddess candles and not used for spellwork. I use them until they have burned down and then replace them. However, when I’m using candles in actual spellwork, I use the small candles and I choose colours appropriate to the task and I burn them all the way down. I would never use any leftover candle (if there ever was any) in any other working, because there would probably be a conflict of intent between one spell and another. I really hope that makes sense! I am planning a video on candle magic at some point which I hope you will enjoy.
      Thank you so much for watching ♥️

    Love you videos.💜I wanted ask.. do you ever feel anxiety after a candle spell. Or do you ever feel anything uncomfortable? Being older time takes a bit of a toll on body. I find sometimes I have some unpleasant sensations such as anxiety after spell-work. Wouldn't have even noticed it 20 years ago. Thank you & Blessed Be.

    • @fifty-somethingwitch2406
      @fifty-somethingwitch2406  9 місяців тому +2

      Thank you, I’m so glad you enjoy my videos. I don’t usually feel anxious after spellwork. I try to be absolutely certain about my intent and what I want to happen before I start work on a spell. I do find that the more energy I put into a spell, the more tired I feel afterwards and I have to take some time to eat, drink, rest and have a bath to ground myself. I’m sure we all feel different after ‘working’ though x

    What is the difference between a ritual and spell? Sorry. Beginner.

    • @fifty-somethingwitch2406
      @fifty-somethingwitch2406  7 місяців тому +1

      That’s ok! No need to apologise!
      A ritual is something you’d do to mark something like a full moon (known as an Esbat) or one of the festivals that we celebrate (known as Sabbats). They are simply a form of celebration and can be done either alone or with a group. There may be readings, music, blessings, and are often followed with food and drink.
      Spell work on the other hand is where you are working to bring about a specific intent, for example, a change in your job, or your home for example. You are being specific about what you want to happen and your focus is on the outcome. Sometimes, rituals do incorporate spell work but in my experience (and my own preference), it is more usual to do spell work alone.
      I really hope this helps! ☺️
