The way you lovingly placed your childhood photo in a shrine of self-love elements actually brought tears to my eyes, it's so sweet. So many of us have inner child wounds we're tending and that's just such a lovely way to be reminded to reach back and say to your younger self, I see you, I love you, you are worthy. I am grateful for the inspiration 💛 (also I lol'ed at the halloumi crystal 😂) Thank you for sharing all your creative ideas!

I really loved watching the evolution of your altar, because mine started in a similar place. It was just a little shoebox in the bottom drawer of my dresser with tealights and other little magical bits and bobs that I had as a teenager, and now, in my twenties, it's a whole setup with a table and storage shelves to the side along the majority of one of the walls in my living room, full of all the books, tools, crystals, and herbs I've accumulated over the years. Oh, and a million candles, of course, lol.

My partner is always poking around in my alters.
The other day I found she was using my magic candle in the loo while she was using it!
After a few talks I’ve noticed her being more intentional but not understanding any boundaries.
I had a dream of this all before it happened. In the dream she was trying to take out a magic dried flower from my pendant.
I’m still in the broom closet and I understand the desire for privacy around your alters

Most of my items are kept within a box since I don’t want to explain everything to my husband and child, but I do have a triple goddess statue, some candles and an incense burner set up on a shelf on a more permanent basis. Male-Witch music artist & YT tarot reader here in Hollywood LA with my familiar PierrO the rabbit 🐰 This video was fantastic! I too have so many items from childhood (rare for a male I know) & I too collect so many twigs from various trees I regularly commune with, in particular this very huge old & majestic poisonous aromatic Brugmansia Tree (Angel trumpet) you can smell for blocks throughout the city! & she even enters my dreams! I make Cucina tribal dolls in commemoration of our divine Mother, Father & Magic 🪄 Child (which is all of us collectively) I also have a lot of woods from the sea & shells & make my own besoms powered by copper, crystals & magnets which I attribute various masculine & feminine deities to. My music studio is right across from my altar & of course these two workstations work in tandem as my music is very faerie inspired. So glad to have found your channel! BLESSED BEEZ! 🐝 😇🧹🪄🛸🐇🐰🧙‍♀️🌙🎤🎵🎹

My first altar was one thing for each element, at first just a candle (beeswax= earth, needs air to burn, and the flame dances in air, fire consumes the wick, and melts the wax, which when liquid represents... well, liquid; candlewax is opaque & obviously not clear water, but, the liquid state is what represents that element for me, in its most elemental existence. Then, as I found things that felt really *right* to me, I added them. Mostly one at a time. So, I second Alwyn's recommendation; that's a fine way to start.

Ohhhh ooooo yes omg I never thought that!! Haha you have inspired me!! What an amazing idea I nevee thought of that! I just had an idea to put carnelian crystals in my terrarium so it can now represent all four elements!! Thanks sweet love this!! ✨💚🙌🏻💚✨

What a perfect piece of furniture to both display and store your sacred items you want to keep private and untouched by others. I love the space to honor your inner child, but most of all, I love that you've put your hands to making a lot of items from things you've found in Nature. It brings to mind faeries. It looks very powerful, yet at the same time, playful, lighthearted, and sincere. Thank you for sharing, this is the prettiest altar ever seen to my eyes and I really appreciate you sharing it. xo

Ahh thankyou so much reading your lovely heartfelt message gave me goosebumps! I am so glad you like it! I really wanted it to be a place where i felt so connected and most connected - so creating all the items inside just gave it that extra special touch - and the fact that they are all sticks from my woods i just feel that extra connected to them now!! Have a truly blessed sunday - lots of love

I always have a seasonal bowl-I have leaves, comes, twigs etc in an Autumn bowl right now,as well as a jar of feathers, a bird's nest that had fell down in the Fall. Love to be surrounded by nature, inside and out. Living and dried. Lisa

Your altar is absolutely beautiful! Thank you for a ✨magical✨ tour!! I absolutely LOVE the idea of doing a self-shrine. I actually repurpose a desktop shelf extension as my altar because it’s low and narrow. It has a second shelf that I’m currently using to store magical items. I never though of expanding my altar space. I have an entire corner!! Hehe… I know just what I’ll be dedicating space to 💚🧚✨💚

This is a beautiful video. You are blessed to be able to keep so many items to show. I have to hide my things because my parents are christians and my baby sister steals stones and crystals. I'm so glad you have such a beautiful home and save leaves and flowers and sticks. I found a small bamboo stick and opened the end and inserted a tiny amethyst in and tied it and painted glitter glue around it. I don't know what to do with it. So I look at it and think how pretty it is. I love your little tree you made from the little bottle. Everything is awesome!

One of my altars is our beautiful kitchen table! My spell language is food and drink, so I have a statue of Dionysus in the center at the back. I regard all my wooden spoons and my dough whisk and my rolling pins as wands. I love to work on it. My father built it for us. Just today I added a wreath made of wild grape vines, and I really like the energy it puts out. There is a little hand-woven basket made of the same vines, and I have a few vinegar concoctions sitting on the table. I keep a shot glass for libations for Di, and always try to give him a few food offerings. There is a candle in a jar on top of a small bed of dried rice for abundance, coins for wealth, bay leaf for prosperity and health, and a few other things buried in the rice. Garlic is always on the table, along with whatever produce I plan to use. It is a wonderful altar that has fed many people.
My other altar has animal bones, bits of wood, the ashes of a beloved cat, pictures and items from ancestors, and various, more private things. It is in our bedroom and is meant more for us. So one altar just for solo stuff, and one for guests!
