Ive wondered, what does tofu taste like? Texture? Is it hard like cheese or softer like cream cheese? I know ppll say it takes on flavor of what you cook it with but Im terrified of the texture, smell etc as I have very weird taste buds & nose for stuff lately, even though my taste buds are limited due to a brain tumor. Its weird I know but want to get an idea before buying it. Which ones do you suggest for amatuers & how to use? lol
Tofu is so versatile because it has such a mild flavor! Buy extra firm, press it for like 30 min, and cook it in a pan in WHATEVER seasoning or sauce you want and voila. Also bomb in an air fryer
Dont know what meal plan you follow but I LOVE the Crunchmaster Protein Salted Caramel chocolat protein crackers/brownie thins! OMG OMG OMG! They are a snack/dessert but are crunchy like a cracker. Besides eating them by the bowlfuls, Ive crumbled them on yogurt, cottage cheese with strawberries(mimics choc cog strawberries.. +other berries you like. Could put them on oatmeal, or whatevs. They taste like the crunchy edges of a brownie lol & have helped my sweet tooth so much. I get them at Sams Club & you get a ginormous bag for like 5-6bucks. Also, Sprouts & TJs have frozen chocolate covered bananas, to die for!!!
I saw your recent instagram post in which you have your psoriasis on full display and are still shining through, your strength and body positivity almost make the psoriasis invisible. I’ve struggled with Psoriasis of the scalp for years (which is awful enough) but the past 6 months its started flaring up all over my body especially the top of my arms and top of my feet/ankles. Because of that i’ve avoided wearing sandals, going bare foot, wearing any top without sleeves etc for the past few months but seeing your post I see how silly i’ve been to let a silly autoimmune disease destroy my confidence! Thanks for showing me that we’re all more than any skin condition (or anything else on the outside), its whats on the inside that really shines through! 💕💕

Whitney, here’s something fun to do with tofu. Sometimes I’ll cut it into cubes and soak it in some flavor (sweet chili, coconut aminos, whatever) and then after an hour or so in the fridge, I’ll bread it with gluten free bread crumbs and almond flour then air fry it! So good!!!

That tofu... BEST TOFU OUT THERE!! I cut it up into little slices then put it in a pan with a little avocado oil, a little garlic salt and some chili powder. So easy and so yummy!!
I was a tofu skeptic but I've really come around to it. It's great with homemade peanut sauce (Pinch of Yum has a good recipe), soba or rice noodles and tons of veggies. Yum! It's also good scrambled with spices and you can eat it as a scramble or you can put it in a breakfast burrito with sweet potato, avocado, beans, salsa/enchilada sauce, cheese etc. So good! Would love to see more tofu recipes!

I recommend patting the tofu down with a paper towel to get as much excess moisture out as you can, and then marinating it in coconut aminos and garlic for 30 minutes or so. Another great marinade for tofu, if you're a fan of the vinegar-y taste, is apple cider vinegar and honey :)
P.F. Chang’s copycat lettuce cups with that tofu is awesome, I put both blocks, a whole bag or the cabbage and carrot mix from Trader Joe’s and the Trader Joe’s Soyaki, too with Avocado and sesame seeds it’s so yum yum yum!

After watching this yesterday I went to Trader Joes and got everything you mentioned. I love the bbq popped ridges, addicting! I did find frozen chicken burgers that are chile lime. I cant wait to try them!
Vegan here haha! Get smoked tofu or make sure to really dry it out so when you cook it it gets crispy and also toss it in a bit of cornstarch and that will help dry it out and crisp it up!
i like to crumble tofu in a pan with olive oil and cook it for a long time til its golden and has a lil crunch, then add tajin! its great in tacos, burritos, or even just with black beans and quac!
Siete makes bomb (cassava) tortilla chips made with avocado oil. Perfect alternative to traditional corn style chips if you’re corn intolerant like my husband. Or if you want to just try something new (really delicious on their own too). And Costco sells them too so you can enjoy the goodness in bulk!
Dry out firm tofu with some paper towels for about 10 minutes. Cube them and throw in the air fryer till wanted crispy consistency. Meanwhile, heat up the pan, add some chopped garlic and onions, and any veggies you want, add some panang curry paste, some coconut milk or just water, cook till veggies are preferred crunch, and enjoy! 🤤

Hey Whit, try the Trader Joe's sprouted tofu! Sprouted tofu is easier to digest and has more protein and nutrients compared to regular tofu. It comes unflavored which I actually prefer bc it's easy to throw on whatever seasonings you're feeling at the moment :)

I used to hate tofu until I learned how to cook it but now I love it!! 🥰🥰 It’s so versatile and healthy. You can use silken tofu blended with spices to make a healthy mayo. You can crumble it up and do scrambled “eggs” or instead of cottage cheese in lasagne! Hotforfood (UA-camr) has an amazing golden Thai curry soup and she tops it with crispy tofu. It’s sooooo good and healthy but I eat it more during winter. But honestly anything from hotforfood is so good!
I'm so glad that you incorporated wholefoods cause ya girl lives on Maui and we don't have a trader joes.... but I'm dying every time you show trader joe's goodies!

Always get extra firm tofu :) You can make a dank tofu taco meal by adding taco seasoning and splitting up the tofu in a saucepan. Totes yummy
