That’s beautiful, God bless you that you have that machinery. I I. use a lawn tractor with a plow but I only have a 50 foot driveway, but I remember the days of snow shoveling I’m 56 years old I’m done
Hi jojojeep1, I am not sure what I would have done if not for the machine. It is one of those things you don't use every day but am very fortunate to have when I need it for jobs like this.
JAC63 It’s like my dad he has 200 acres upstate New York his driveway is about 3/4 of a mile he has a Catapillar bulldozer that’s with the plows it with, and then he plows all the other trails he’s got trails all over the property he named after my mother and my sister everybody’s got a name for the trail and he keep them open to maintain with the bulldozer, and he’s got huge city tractors with 10foot arm bar on the side To cut it Fields, but not me I live on 100 x 100 on Long Island so I just need a little tractor
I have a blade just like yours, mine is black is the only thing I can tell is different. I just bought a skid steer a John Deere 318D to be exact for this very purpose, plowing snow. I thought I had a long driveway to the house but you got me beat. Mine is only a 1/8th mile but it seams longer in the winter. My old Ford 3000 diesel just did not cut it last winter. Great video and I hope it works as well for me. Thanks!
Hi rtta51. Oddly enough... the plow came with no shoes. Plowed 20 ft and decided it wasn't going any further until I added them. I have them set so the blade leaves about an inch of snow behind. Rarely do I see any gravel when I am done.
Not to shabby, looks like it could use a deflector on top to keep it rolling forward. Wideer with the powder would be nice but its the heavy wet that will tell what you can push or not. Cheers
Hi Crash 5291. Yeah, it needed a deflector and now has one along with wings on both sides of the plow. Given the depth of the snow though, not much of it came back over the top. Fortunately we don't get too much wet snow here in southern Alberta. It is mostly powder. Thanks for your comment.
I have the same plow, they come in either a 86" or a 92” width and I got the 92 incher. I used it a few times last winter but this winter I’ve just used a 8’ snow bucket and my plow on the truck for the drive. I’m curious as to what the thing on the left of the plow is, it’s a rod that goes to the left and has the circle pad on top... you can easily see it in the video here. Any ideas? I put two-link heavy duty chains on my skid steer this winter. They ain’t cheap at a grand for the four chains but they grip like a boss.
Hi Curtis, yeah... I got the 86" plow. With the wings I added I am out to a bit over 8' in width. I decided on this plow instead of one for my Super Duty as it was one third the cost. It doesn't typically snow this much in southern Alberta and when it does, it melts pretty quick when the warm Chinook winds arrive. Not sure what that bent rod with the circular pad was for... other than something to bang your knee on. It was removed and sent to the scrap metal pile shortly after this video was shot. Thanks for your comment.
JAC63 They are nice plows for the money, I got mine here in Wisconsin where I live for $1100 shipped a hundred miles to me. There’s some in a online surplus auction here in the state that might go cheaper and they have some other TMG Industrial stuff in the auction too that I’d like to have but not now like two post lifts. What skid do you run? I’d say it’s a Case. I have a 2005 Case 430 with hardly any hours.
@@hermancm You are correct. They are nice plows for the money. Used it about a dozen times with no problems and excellent results. I have a 2008 Case 445 Series 3. Bought it used about 4 years ago. Way too big for my needs, but a nice machine.
Joseph Strassburg. Hi Joseph. This particular snowstorm dumped a foot of wind driven powder on us. Some of the snowdrifts were certainly testing the limits of the blade. A snowblower would be nice, but they are really expensive. It took a couple of extra passes to clean up the spill-over, but it performed well. Thank you for the kind comment.
is that the coolant indicator that is beeping? our 247 in the summer did that all the time even after the coolant was topped up and the sensor was replaced.
Hi Riley, The beeping you hear in the beginning of the video is the seat belt/lap bar warning indicator. It beeps the moment I start my machine and keeps beeping while it is running until I sit in the seat and secure the seat belt and lower the lap bar. Very annoying. The same beep is used for other warning indicators. My Case 445 has several temperature sensors and I had to replace all of them to get the constant beeping to quit. Your machine may have several too. There is a second, double beeping sound audible at some points during the video. That is my GPS tracking system dinging my phone letting me know the machine has traveled beyond the geofencing.
Hi Andrew, Agreed. It was really nice to have a white Christmas for a change. Even nicer to have the moisture. The pine trees on the side of my driveway really struggled with the drought we/they endured over the summer and fall. Thanks for your comment.
Ryan Butterly. With 12" of snow... I plowed straight down the middle of my driveway. If you would have watched the whole video, you would have seen me angle right and left pushing the snow to both sides.
Dale Nienow. Hi Dale. You are correct. I have a 2008 Case 445 Series 3. I bought the plow at Uncle Wieners (no giggling) in Edmonton. It is made in China and I am not sure of the company who made it. I purchased this plow over a box plow as this one doubles as a grader blade. I did install a rubber deflector and wings to gain some of the benefits of a box plow. The plow is well made and works great.
JAC63 I have a CAT wheel loader 926m with boss boxplow and a CAT 299D2 skidsteer with boss boxplow and I have a case skidsteer with a snowblower as well I live in Wisconsin!
Dale Nienow. I love Wisconsin! I actually grew up in northern Illinois. Definitely right in the midwestern snow-belt... and you certainly have the machines to deal with it!
Hi J R, As you can see in the video... my first pass was straight down the middle of the driveway with the snow being pushed evenly to both sides. My subsequent passes up and down the driveway were made windrowing the snow to the sides with the blade angled as required. Thank you for your question.
@@jac6362 1000ft.! feels like a mile. Think you would be a lot better off with a blower, if snowfall is regularly like that, you're going to run out of places to put it quick. Friend of mine has a blower on his skid steer, can't believe how far it throws it.
Hi clmahs728, yeah... a snowblower would have been awesome with this much powdery snow. I did take a serious look at buying one, but they run about $18k up here in Canada. In reality, we rarely get this much snow in my part of southern Alberta. Another hours drive west towards the mountains and it would be a much different story. I only spent $1100.00 on this blade, plus it doubles as a grader blade which I use to help maintain the gravel driveways. If I was to get another snowfall like that and needed more room, I have every confidence that the blade or smooth bucket on my machine would have no trouble pushing it back another 30ft if needed. Thanks for your comment.
Hi Raymond J This blade doubles as a grader blade and consequently does not have much curvature to it. The more speed I applied, the more the deep snow cascaded over the top. Results of this very first run quickly showed I needed side wings and a deflector on top. The blade now has them. We have had additional snowfall and those additions to the blade allowed me to move much faster and "get it rollin". Thanks for your comment.
Hi Justin, I have had a few other people say the same thing. If I went any faster, the deep snow tended to come back over the top of the plow. I have since added a rubber deflector and two wings. It is now much more efficient and the snow goes the direction I want it to at faster speeds. It kinda makes me hope for a few more heavy snowfalls this winter... kinda... Thanks for the comment.
Hi Desert515, I have had my blade for over a year now. I have used it dozens of times to plow snow, level gravel and spread topsoil and have yet to notice any structural problems. It is like anything else... if you take care of it... it will last. If you abuse it... you will certainly lose it. Thanks for your comment.
I just purchased the exact same plow it is the exact color, I believe two other companies bought out and reproduced them since they were that color. The one I purchased has a repaired A-frame on both sides top and bottom. There is also a slight crack that needs to be repaired around where the bolt goes through the top of the a-frame . I am sure it will not break on me , you just have to know the limits of your equipment.

over the river and threw the woods to grandmas house we go hahaha cool video dude
Nice to see someone with enough sense to use the shoes when plowing gravel road.
Hi rtta51. Oddly enough... the plow came with no shoes. Plowed 20 ft and decided it wasn't going any further until I added them. I have them set so the blade leaves about an inch of snow behind. Rarely do I see any gravel when I am done.
Yep I bet you was scrapin all them stones back on the road way in spring
Hi Skeets, Yeah... there was a little bit of scrapin this spring... but not too terrible.

I want to get the 86" and was wondering what it's width is overall when fully angles as I need it to fit in my 82" dump trailer.?

That's the leg to keep it standing up when you disconnect it from the machine.

Build the snowbanks high and it will drift full... just sayin' It IS good to have fun, though!!

just learning how to plow huh. thats a good thing
You need a bigger plow with a snow curler on it
Smaller angle bites and more speed !
try 45 angle left or right!
Ryan Butterly. With 12" of snow... I plowed straight down the middle of my driveway. If you would have watched the whole video, you would have seen me angle right and left pushing the snow to both sides.

shouldn't you turn the blade either L or R?

Do you put you skid steer in float ?
Hi Betterbelieve. Absolutely. If I didn't, there would certainly be a lot more gravel exposed.
Dont you keep your vehicles and machinery in sheds or at least covered up? Too expensive to leave in the weather to rot.
That is the longest driveway on planet 🌏!!
Hi Mike, Yeah... it is a pretty long driveway at just under 1000 ft.

you need some silicon spray on your blade and some more speed dude they you can get it rollin in front the blade !

Sad to say it but these blades are total junk will break or bend by the end of its first season

JAC63 maybe you got a good one the one I have had to be re structured twice because the steel bent and twisted
I also bought the same plow.
I absolutely mangled the a-frame in the middle the first time I used it.
