As much knife stuff I’ve seen on the internet I’ve never seen anyone else talk about shoulder, elbow, wrist cuts. It might be out there but I’ve never seen it. It’s so essential!

I always train forms with full range of motion on everything. With that being said, dealing with an aggreser I go to thrust first then wrist moves. I have found that when live training against attacks it's always close and quick.

I use these drills as part of my stretching/warmup routine. Great for loosening up the upper body before a workout.

Wrist cut. You'd be surprised (or maybe not) how quick that stops a fight/attacker.

From a minimal calorie expenditure viewpoint, elbow, 1 or more, then follow thru as shown at min/secs 3.44, 3.45, 3.46, centre, outside, inside, blade angles. That ought to fix it. Go.
    Fantastic. Holy shit!

I started learning Arnis, and I had the first stick fight class last week. It was very exciting and fun.

I use Bowie Knives most of the time so i use a combination of all three techniques, but my favorite would be Elbow to Wrist and if ur the one on the inside of an alleged attackvu can thenvuse ur thrusting techniques.

Just the right speed to follow along......then full tilt.......Footwork not a problem for Me. Kicking? Yes, as I explained in another comment......I can do ''low'' kicks (some) and Frank Hamer ones...By the way like that green house in the background.

Depends on the knife i use at the time. I got 3 large and 1 small, a kukri, heavy duty bowie, and a flesh penetrating bowie. Rambo 5 first knife in fact, deadly prop but very useful, no worse than any other knife.
The kukri, I'll take something off the target any chance i get, cut as deep as possible if i cant.
Bowie 1, blade weight and shape (mtech rhino bowie) allows harder hits like the kukri but lighter and better stabbing too.
Bowie 2, that just goes hilt deep in anything with minimal force. Its sharp as shit, easily my most dangerous. Bit heavier though somehow so its more up close and personal or you tire out.

A nice set of flowing technique that is wonderful to focus on. It naturally occurs to me to make progressive and regressive footwork a part of all movements due to the triangle footwork drills. My preference would be the elbow into wrist as generally not as much force needs to be exerted using a blade as with a clubbing weapon. Thank you for taking the time in producing these training videos.❤️👍😁

Could you make a video similar to this but more techniques with a KUKRI? or if you have a video on that already direct me to it?

philippines knife that i learn not swing wide like that but thrust the tip of a knife to the angle and cut down so barely has a chance to block but when we do the drills we use wide swing

Since firearms got here lots of restricted and made more expensive as well ammo allmost not affordable or availlable anymore in Latinamerica (at least for law abiding citizens), I switched over to knives as an main defense tool. That is not regulated by law here. Ammo is so expensive over here my guns basically are useless by now. Then the registration and renewal costs of the firearms licenses just exploded.
Thus I switched over to the Ganzo 729 type Spyderco Paramilitary 2 knife as EDC and defensive tool. That has an 3.25" blade with an effective cutting edge of 3" without the ricasso (with ricasso 3.25" and till the handle including finger choil it is 3.5").
I saw yesterday your other Kali video on the rubber buddy used and I find Kali is one of the most practical and easiest defensive schools there is. Anybody is able to at least to some degree reproduce those movements in X cross, + cross, - horizontal, | vertical and quick stabbing and retracting.
I find that in real life maybe the most practical and doable - not those fancy karate movements nobody lay person can ever remember. Kali is IMO real life practical.
The PM2 clone from Ganzo has an basically 3.2" practical blade lenght, 3.3mm spine, flat grind, 44C stainless, 58 HRC Rockwell, axis lock (which is rock solid and will never fail due to strong springs) and it is a leaf shape blade. Is that 3" blade lenght enough?
I heard some say 5" is the bare minimum and better would be 5.5" in blade lenght to reach every organ in an stabbing situation. I doubt I could reach the lungs from the front, (in real life any knife encounter will be allways only from the front) with an 3" blade by stabbing beneath the rib cage from the front pointing a bit upward the blade. Kindneys have to be reached as well from the front since that would get out of the fight the person soon. I doubt an 3" Spyderco Paramilitary 2 is able to reach those critical points. And an fixed blade or really monster folder is basically socially not permissable here. So an defensive folder like the 3" bladed PM2 is basically the only orange peeler I could have all the time with me without making people suspicious.
Defending with this knife against street dogs may be an reality in the near future as well where Kali endless movements are coming practical. So Kali has many uses.
I dispatched a week ago my Chihuahua dog (snake bite?) with the Paramilitary 2 knife and it went in as butter and out as well. I never have seen an blade go in that effortless and it was sharpened only to the fingernail test. I stabbed the dog between the ribs towards the thorax and it went in till the ricasso (3.25") me not even really notice it. The tip of the PM2 is rather pointed and thus weak. Blood gushed out of the wound and the dog was dead in 15 seconds. The dog did not even notice something just threw his head a bit back. This type of blades go in with less effort than an vets needle.
That sold me to the Ganzo 729, PM2 typo of knives since they fit me very well as well. Just the short blade lenght of effective 3" worries me at stabbing. I use the knife with an paracord in order not to lose it in an fight twisting it around my wrist so it can not fall off even if Iet it fall off the hand.
Just reaching vital organs may be an problem on the PM2 types of knives in an real situation.

Stepping with a thrust is more distracting. It is somewhat easy to stand and follow a hand/arm but when you see the persons entire mass coming towards you it takes away the focus on the knife hand as your brain is concerned about the larger mass coming towards you. Another tactic when cutting is to repeat, "You're bleeding man, you're bleeding!" Some people may not know they are bleeding so they won't be as mentally in shock than if they know they are bleeding.

I was looking at your website, and I saw DVDs for beginners with double sticks, but do you have a beginner single stick lesson as well? I use escrima sticks in my karate class, but we don't really focus too much on one single weapon, and I would like to get proficient in the sticks, from the ground up, which I assume is one stick, and then two?

The closer my knife gets to a sword the more elbow and shoulder I’ll prefer on my cut.
But I’ll always prefer a thrust before a cut despite length as it has the least telegraph and combo into a cut to return to a position where I can either cut or thrust.

I understood the concept really well from this video alone, but now im worried I may be on some kind of government watchlist in my country.
Remind me to never exercise self defence with a knife.
