This is not the original original version, probably the first recorded version but it differs quite a lot from the original composition from Kunihiko Murai

This seems to be the only version of this rock-style version of the song that I can find online, which is a real shame because it's great. I would kill for a studio version of this that I could share with people.

※”Akai Tori” means "Red Birds". Akai Tori formed in 1969 and disbanded in 1974.
After that, the former members split up to form“ Kami-Fusen”, “Hi-Fi Set”, and “Humming Bird”.
They were a group that each person could be for vocals and the beautiful harmonies were attractive. Not only did they sing traditional songs with beautiful chorus works, but they also had a soft rock musicality, In my personal opinion, it's close to the image of the British tradfolk “Fairport Convention “and “Pentangle”, but I think Red Bird was a unique band with a different tune in that it also dealt with Japanese indigenous folk songs.
After the break-up, Yamamoto's“Hi-Fi Set” went down the path of fashionable and urban city pop (then called new music), and Goto's“ Kami-Fusen” followed an acoustic path that stuck to Japan folk traditions.
Although they had different lines, they were both a group that carried on the Red Birds DNA that they shared in terms of beautiful female vocals and chorus.
"Give Me Wings" has become a famous standard song in Japan, but many people have gone unaware that it was a Red Birds song.
And it was very unfortunate that they could not sign a contract for sales in Europe and the United States even at that time, and were buried in Japan for a long time,
and their singing voices and songs could not reach to the world without being known, and they could not receive a fair evaluation.
