  • If you take your 7PM to 2AM everyday after work and get things off of Craigslist "free", which you then flip on Facebook Marketplace or eBay, I really do believe that you could be making $100,000 a year. If reaching that dollar amount is really important to you, then you need to seriously think about this.
I know that this video was a bit different, but I'd love to get your $0.02 in the comments below to hear from you guys on whether or not this is something that you enjoyed.

I've made over $500 the last 4 days selling stuff I had laying around that I didn't want or use anymore on Ebay! I've had so much fun looking up prices, listing and packaging things. I'm going to my first yard sales tomorrow and this weekend.. I can't wait! Hopefully I come away with something really cool. Thanks Gary

    • @amaracea

Gary IS a motivational speaker. Whether he thinks of himself as one or not.
Thing is you think of “motivational speaker” as someone who blows hot air to make you feel good. To me, those people are “quacks,” not motivational speakers.
I think of “motivational speaker” as someone whose speaking has the power to motivate you - and that’s Gary.

The real value in telling people to start small scale flipping - I think you probably know exactly what you are doing here Gary and it's ridiculously smart. Being nearly 40 and being self employed forever I am ready to start building a future for my family but have always been bad at business. I need to raise funds to start the next chapter so have been micro flipping along with making more from work. The REAL value in hitting the thrift stores etc is that you learn the absolute basics of running a business and how to be profitable. I have learnt more in a month buying and selling small items than I have in a life time of reading and watching business advice.
I have no more words. Humility.

Couldn’t agree more. Why does everyone say they need a million dollar business? A 100k a year business is pretty damn great. Aim for that and then once you get it, aim for 500k, then a million, etc. You wouldn’t expect to speak a new language fluently in one month. Why do people think they can build a million dollar business overnight? Dream big, but realize that dream could take a long time...a very long time.

That's why it's not good that we have a large percentage of adults living with their parents until age 25+. For those still in school it can be difficult to live on your own but it can be so damaging living with your parents during those years where you're supposed to be learning and figuring things out. Even with nice parents it can limit the person who stays at home like that.

I just want to say if your thinking about selling on eBay don’t only look at the “sold and completed” price. Use it as a reference point. I’ve sold items higher and lower than the completed sale price. Also if you don’t find a listing of the item your selling post it anyway. Can’t tell you how many’s times I’ve sold items I thought wouldn’t sell or would sit for months. Take into account if your item is new, used, in high demand, rare and exclusive. Is it an item they only have in your country? You can probably mark up the price. Are there a lot of sellers who are selling it? You have to compete with their price even if you think your item is worth more! As you sell you’ll catch on to a lot of things. Love you Gary thanks for putting resellers out there! Reselling isn’t for everyone and you gotta love the hustle of it! A lot of people out here not respecting resellers because they just don’t get it!

    • @MikroAnimations
      @MikroAnimations 5 років тому +4

I would like to add to this by saying, don't get discouraged if your item sits on the market for a while. I made a custom LEGO model and listed it on eBay. I ended up selling it maybe 5 months later. I literally forgot I even posted it!

Don't judge lol but there was this game called Dead Frontier that was free to play online, Zombie Survival/apocalypse stuff right?
There was a completely open marketplace for players to list things they found in the city/dangerzones
and basically people would sell very common items that were also easy to run out of like food cans (dog food lol) and bandages for prices like $300 each and I would go out into the first few zones and pick up bundles of them and sell them for more "realistic" prices like $20-30 and they would fly off (my) shelves :)
      Every dollar counts!!!

You are spot on Veronica. I have been re selling for the past two years full time and I am the happiest I have ever been. I worked years in Law Enforcement and then 7 years as an Account Manager in Corporate Sales which I loathed even though it paid very well. Discovered reselling and never looked back and I currently only make about half the money I used to but business is growing and scaling upwards. I work many 12 hour days or am up on a Saturday night packing boxes. It never ever feels like work as I put in about 60 hours a week. Friends and family that have no clue will ask when I am I going to get a "real job" or am still doing that Ebay thing? I just laugh at them. It is a proven fact that most people by nature when they don't understand something will immediately criticize it. I am blessed to not give a flying fu## what anyone thinks and I have nothing to prove to anyone but myself. Gary Vee has been a huge inspiration for me these past few years.

Love the idea of a documentary like Juice commented before. Like if you got your family interviewed and high school friends interviewed. It could touch on the types of people your parents are and maybe show in real life the dynamics between yourself and your parents. And just go over your life and what brought you here I think it would be a serious right hook and super valuable for everyone watching.

One of the most enjoyable talks yet.. The baseball card game is VERY real! There is also a ton of opportunity around, both singles and especially the box or case breaks. I've been flipping golf clubs for the past several years, fairly successfully, getting clubs off CL, thrift shops, FB Marketplace, even ones on eBay that were just poorly listed (takes lots of searching, but those profitable listings are out there!) and flipping them through eBay, almost always doubling the cost, if not better. The two trash talk videos, and this, have really got me thinking on planning how to broaden my market and expand outside of golf clubs and go garage sale hunting, maybe get in on the mug life.

Yo Gary, just wanna let you know I’ve started flipping shit on eBay, going to dollar tree and finding steals on marketplace. So far I am about to break $1k on eBay & I’ve flipped my way through a few thousand dollars in Pokémon flipping and collecting. For that, I wanna say thank you 1000% for being the realist.

You love his content of implying people shouldn't go to college and then telling people to "hustle" and waste their life AFTER work selling dumb shit on eBay? You people eat up anything he says and you don't think it through.

Made 89K flipping so far in 2018. Started in February, it's possible, and I'm going to break the 100K mark by the end of 2018, and in 2019 I'm aiming towards 200K that year. The more knowledgeable I become, the easier it gets and the easier and faster I make a profit. NO excuses, I dont even own a car.

Awesome Sauce. I started in 2017 with the flip challenge. I had ALOT of books just sitting around. I started following Reezy and he showed me the way into Flipping Books on Amazon. In the next couple of months, I plan on quitting my job and start flipping books full time. Thanks as always Don Vaynerchuck.
