"I left watching in 2018 but last time I remember he was in a dog food match or whatever with Corbin." Yeah, but here's a problem, That happened in 2020. so......
@TheCerebralAssassin1996 I still got news about WWE from time to time, the particularly bad stuff always made it through like Seth and the Fiends hell in a cell. I never saw it but I know about it
It’s probably because every match after 2020-2021 time period was a ref bump, inference, spear, 123 let’s go home. Besides that it was really good title reign but it could’ve been better, if he just won more matches clean which would’ve made him an actual dominant heel.
Elimination chamber(with sami not goldberg) was the ultimate classic, i remember watching it with my dad and he knew nothing about the bloodline but still was super interested and disappointed by the time the match ended. In my opinion the best match of 2023
Reigns' 2020 return is the equivalent of the Austin. 3:16 promo. What seemed inconsequential in the moment ended up being the starting point that WWE would build the next era on
I earned appreciation for it after the fact, I started watching wrestling again during Cody’s second wrestlemania run. Obviously the Bloodline was still at full strength until the jey situation. The pay off @ W40 made his title reign worth it 100%!
Honestly Roman Reigns really became a GOAT during this title reign and really solidified himself as one of the Greatest of ALL TIME. He was the face of an era and a big draw to the WWE
Think of it, without the most bizarre time for the world, things may never have changed. Things may never have changed for Roman Reigns. Things may never have changed for the product. The pandemic era is the closest thing to an oasis. It may have given us, some of the over the top and substandard storylines but the one thing it assured was 'continuity'. Continuity to either go fail or succeed but to go.
I feel like they overdid the interferences really bad. It’s Roman freaking reigns he doesn’t need help to win every match. 2021 was his best year as champ easily. He was actually there most of the time and he didn’t need interferences.
This single title reign defined how a title run should be, it got bigger and better through the weeks, months and years. He wasn't overexposed, any time he defended the title he felt important, the title felt important, and his presence showed that in the ratings. It doesn't matter if Cody or Seth defended their titles more in a year than Roman did across 4 years. None of their title matches felt as big or important as Reigns. Just look at the title picture now; you've got absolute nobodies challenging for the title and it doesn't make either Cody or Gunther feel bigger at the end of it. Cody is a boring champion, he is only relevant because of the chase for Roman's title. Gunther will also be the better wrestler and more powerful person in any rivalry. So it's difficult for Gunther to feel like a bigger deal by overcoming a challenger. That's why Roman's title reign was the best, he got bigger, badder and more ruthless. Even an entrance with him holding the title felt more important than any other champion.
Hi Superkicksstudios, I absolutely love ur videos. Pls could u tell me the instrumental that was playing when u were talking about the Roman Reigns vs Finn Balor match at Extreme rules and also the Roman vs Brock match at Crown Jewel. U use that instrumental a lot and I really love it but I dont know the name of it. Thanks🙏
In my opinion it stopped being a good title reign when he became double champ. 2020-2021 was hell of a run. But he was THE guy, so it is understandable that they wanted him to hold the top spot for a long time
In my opinion, the Finn Demon pulsations were cool, in an anime kind of way....If he won, that would have increased the aura of the demon character.....However, in hind sight, him losing was the right choice but it should have been because of The Fiend and not some "spiritual accident".....
wwe missed out on a brother v brother where if jimmy lost he pledges his loyalty and allegiance to the tribal chief and if he won jey was out of the bloodline
I do think an easy way for Roman have lost one of the belts would’ve been to have him vs Rollins in a ladder match, and both grab a belt and proceed to fall off the ladder
Title reign was great until after wrestlemania 39 imo, the jey stuff was good but everyone with half a brain cell knew he wasn’t winning, everything felt like filler to get to mania 40, the rock coming back helped increase interest for sure and the story telling after rumble was great, but the 8-9 months we had to wait to get there was painful
Roman should have Dropped the WWE Title at Clash at the Castle in 2022, Roman was Holding that Title Hostage far too Long, Plus He was a Part Timer and Only won his Matches with Interference. But Overall Roman had a Legendary Reign.
Watching the lead up to Survivor Series 2024, I don't think Sami and the Uso's looked interested in reuniting since they couldn't capture that magic as Roman and Heyman showed up much later.
Id say yes it was very good but it did have filler for points when wwe didnt know how to advance the story and when roman went super part time it hurt the story a bit but still thr bloodline was able to tell some of the greatest stories wrestling has been able to tell
39:15 "But the bigger thought was, 'what can we do for the fans'?" ... and for our bank accounts. And for our family members' careers and brands. And our own personal legacies. But also, for the fans.
Good, was getting stale before HHH took over but it got revived with Sami's inclusion and subsequent outing. Coincidentally then it fell. But the vibes were great. (IMO)
*Looking at the pros and cons of Roman’s title run…* PROS: - It allowed Roman to finally find his stride as a main eventer after years of bad booking during his disastrous babyface push - The tribal chief gimmick has been phenomenal - The Bloodline story has been great for the most part - Had loads of great matches - The run proved that sometimes less is more despite overstaying its welcome - Roman’s mic skills had massively excelled - Took part in lots of great feuds (most notably the feud with Sami Zayn) - Elevated the Usos CONS: - Should’ve lost to Cody at WrestleMania 39 (I will die on this hill) - His part-time schedule sort of put a damper on his run - They were times were the reign felt like it was more about quantity over quality - It seem like WWE kept the title on him a bit too long for stat padding purposes - The Bloodline story dragged on a little bit too long despite being great for the most part - Most of the finishes of his matches were way too predictable - They should’ve just had Roman carry the Universal title only (I really was not a fan of combining the world titles at all)
@@StreetsAhead120 if you really believe that WWE were going to let him break Bruno Sammartino’s record then you probably are a lot more delusional than I thought. His reign got stale. "I left watching in 2018 but last time I remember he was in a dog food match or whatever with Corbin."
Yeah, but here's a problem, That happened in 2020.
so......
@TheCerebralAssassin1996 I still got news about WWE from time to time, the particularly bad stuff always made it through like Seth and the Fiends hell in a cell. I never saw it but I know about it
“Jammed down the audience’s throat harder than Zdeno Chara’s slapshot” is hilarious
I'm just glad it's over. I need The Bloodline to end too. I don't care if I sound like a hater, I'm just so fatigued lmfao.
It’s probably because every match after 2020-2021 time period was a ref bump, inference, spear, 123 let’s go home. Besides that it was really good title reign but it could’ve been better, if he just won more matches clean which would’ve made him an actual dominant heel.
Agrees
Ahhh shut upppppppp
Elimination chamber(with sami not goldberg) was the ultimate classic, i remember watching it with my dad and he knew nothing about the bloodline but still was super interested and disappointed by the time the match ended. In my opinion the best match of 2023
When he was just universal champion it was perfect the undisputed reign was weird
I've wanted this vid since maina 40.
Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns are the best UV champions🔥🔥🔥
Roman reigns wit this reign solidified himself as the greatest of all time
The Roman kevin series was some of the best stuff of this whole title reign along with the jey uso saga and sami uso
Reigns' 2020 return is the equivalent of the Austin. 3:16 promo. What seemed inconsequential in the moment ended up being the starting point that WWE would build the next era on
Do a Roman’s career from 2012 to 2024 would like to see your thoughts
we are in a great era rn
This storyline between Roman and Jey uso was so amazing
I earned appreciation for it after the fact, I started watching wrestling again during Cody’s second wrestlemania run. Obviously the Bloodline was still at full strength until the jey situation. The pay off @ W40 made his title reign worth it 100%!
The build up to wrestlemania 40 was easily the greatest build in the history of the company
14:44 “Edge didn’t wanna make his decision yet. He lived true to his nickname…” Boi😂
Can't wait for the new Drew McIntyre video
did you see drews first appearance, he didn't have a beard and he was pretty tall, but he didn't take any steriods yet so he was kind of skinny
I feel like they overdid the interferences really bad. It’s Roman freaking reigns he doesn’t need help to win every match. 2021 was his best year as champ easily. He was actually there most of the time and he didn’t need interferences.
🎯
Carried WWE during its tough times, I just wished he had done a little bit more than 31 title defenses.
Man how did his entrance to 37 look so good?! They used 8K cameras?! Lol
it was pretty solid
You 're fired the end 0 Vince 0 pinches the end 0
This was this generations “Undertaker Streak”
In a word- epic
Thanks🙏
2023 wrestlemania decision was absolutely perfect. He definitely should’ve won that match.
Way better than codys title reign, not even close
Cody needs to lose it now the rock isn’t involved in wm
Cody has been a good champion, at least he’s been on the show every week than ur boring ass Roman
Legend.
Saying that Roman versus Brock at mania 38 was a dud seems like quite the stretch
HE WON'T ALLOW ME TO LET GO HE WON'T ALLOW ME TO LET GO HE WON'T ALLOW ME TO LET GO 29:24
wwe missed out on a brother v brother where if jimmy lost he pledges his loyalty and allegiance to the tribal chief and if he won jey was out of the bloodline
There were only two matches in this reign where it was a 50/50 outcome : against drew mcintyre and the first cody rhodes match
Ayyy, it was cool. It was pretty badass.
I do think an easy way for Roman have lost one of the belts would’ve been to have him vs Rollins in a ladder match, and both grab a belt and proceed to fall off the ladder
For me that reign is incompleted, I wanted to see rock vs Roman on that reign in WrestleMania 40 but stardust fans ruined it.. 😢
do the goat responds?
Title reign was great until after wrestlemania 39 imo, the jey stuff was good but everyone with half a brain cell knew he wasn’t winning, everything felt like filler to get to mania 40, the rock coming back helped increase interest for sure and the story telling after rumble was great, but the 8-9 months we had to wait to get there was painful
It really dragged on the last year but the pay off was amazing and very much worth the ride.
What made this run special is that you can relate to every character that was apart of the bloodline like it’s crazy how wrestling works
Now, it is time to give Drew McIntyre a 4 year world title run!
21:10 it's fox demanded for a big match on SmackDown as much i remember
He called Jey Jimmy. Just thought I'd point that out 😊
From blue eyes of a hero to eyes that shows he sold his soul for wwe.
Roman should have Dropped the WWE Title at Clash at the Castle in 2022, Roman was Holding that Title Hostage far too Long, Plus He was a Part Timer and Only won his Matches with Interference. But Overall Roman had a Legendary Reign.
I would have preferred them to split the belts. Roman keeps his reign and the universal title and Drew wins JUST the wwe title.
Nah drew would’ve done nothing with it him dropping it to Cody was the right decision it made more sense imo
Watching the lead up to Survivor Series 2024, I don't think Sami and the Uso's looked interested in reuniting since they couldn't capture that magic as Roman and Heyman showed up much later.
One word: legendary
Tribal Chief Roman Reigns and his four year run is Vince’s last great run of story telling
He finally got his guy fully over
Id say yes it was very good but it did have filler for points when wwe didnt know how to advance the story and when roman went super part time it hurt the story a bit but still thr bloodline was able to tell some of the greatest stories wrestling has been able to tell
39:15 "But the bigger thought was, 'what can we do for the fans'?" ... and for our bank accounts. And for our family members' careers and brands. And our own personal legacies. But also, for the fans.
“But most importantly, what can we do for my ego?” -Dwayne.
Good, was getting stale before HHH took over but it got revived with Sami's inclusion and subsequent outing. Coincidentally then it fell. But the vibes were great. (IMO)
Roman’s reign is what brought me back to wrestling again. Indeed, what a time to be alive!
I would of respected the run so much if it wasn’t a unification at first because it fucked over so many talents
22:03 i laughed alot hereee chair and reigns xd
*Looking at the pros and cons of Roman’s title run…*
PROS:
- It allowed Roman to finally find his stride as a main eventer after years of bad booking during his disastrous babyface push
- The tribal chief gimmick has been phenomenal
- The Bloodline story has been great for the most part
- Had loads of great matches
- The run proved that sometimes less is more despite overstaying its welcome
- Roman’s mic skills had massively excelled
- Took part in lots of great feuds (most notably the feud with Sami Zayn)
- Elevated the Usos
CONS:
- Should’ve lost to Cody at WrestleMania 39 (I will die on this hill)
- His part-time schedule sort of put a damper on his run
- They were times were the reign felt like it was more about quantity over quality
- It seem like WWE kept the title on him a bit too long for stat padding purposes
- The Bloodline story dragged on a little bit too long despite being great for the most part
- Most of the finishes of his matches were way too predictable
- They should’ve just had Roman carry the Universal title only (I really was not a fan of combining the world titles at all)
The only Con is that it wasn’t long enough.
@@StreetsAhead120 if you really believe that WWE were going to let him break Bruno Sammartino’s record then you probably are a lot more delusional than I thought. His reign got stale. It was time to move on. You should at least be grateful he had a lengthy championship run they’ll be talked about for years to come.
@@joelseanoa8839You’re the one that’s delusional.
At first I was upset with Roman beating Cody at WM 39 but it made fans support Cody more. If Cody won at WM39, fans would’ve already turned on him by now
@@StreetsAhead120It was long enough, perhaps too long
I just find it disrespectful we never got Almighty Bobby Lashley v Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. Bloodline v Hurt Business would’ve been MONEY
Bhai love from India 🇮🇳 ♥
