It’s suppose to be the middle of summer, but for some reason the weather has gotten slightly chilly again and so we went for Korean barbecue tonight. This place is actually one of my favourites but I haven’t featured it before and since one of you have kindly recommended it the comments - I was like, why not!

My travel buddy (adult son) and I love Korean food. We live in a small rural town in SA. No Korean food anywhere, unless we cook it from scratch which I do. What we do is make it a travel treat. Our favourite is the Korean restaurant next to the La Quinta hotel in Elk Grove Village, Chicago. We went every second night. Three weeks ago son and I were in Auckland and found Bamboo Kitchen, only 4 minute walk from our hotel.

I went to Bornga with a friend last month- a great experience and I can definitely understand the hype

With the spicy cold noodles, try eating it with a bit of the marinated pork ribs in one mouthful next time! This is how my family and I have it everytime we go 😁

You should try Mapo Galbi around the corner. You’ll have endless cabbage salad 🥗 😋 Their pork ribs, beef ribs and super chewy cold noodles 🍜

Stoneage food is far superior to Mapo. (These are my local restaurants and I've been to them multiple times. Plus I'm Korean.)
They serve free spicy raw crab as a side 🤤

Hi Janice, i like 678 & Jonggajip in Eastwood , in Strathfield i like Won Jo, i will try this one out as that egg looks great & your price of $117 is very reasonable for 4 people. 😃 OX tongue is one of my favs too 👍

How’s the smokiness & ventilation in that restaurant Janice esp during dinner time?Would love to try but don’t wanna get suffocated haha.. Great suggestion of having the cold noodles with BBQ btw! Can definitely appreciate the noodles more this way 👍🏼

Hey Janice good job on the videos... Just on the KBBQ can I give you some recommendations... Coming from a Korean and also amongst many other koreans, this joint is just so so...
For KBBQ both Pork and Beef: GogiWang in Eastwood
For marinade galbi: Mapo Galbi West Ryde
And if you have money to blow and want to impress guests: Bonga Haymarket
And if you order enough stuff (usually when your drinking soju) the steamed egg usually gets given to you for free...

And hidden gem that's not kbbq related.... BIWON in Eastwood is Chinese Korean... very very good ... Ttangsooyook, gun jjajang and jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle) is very close to the kfood standards of Korea...
