Thank you Father for this powerful homily. I am so grateful to learn of this Miraculous miracle in Hiroshima. I have never heard this before. Living the message of Fatima.
They are the modern day Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (Daniel 3:23-30).

I had not heard this history before although I am Catholic, attended a Catholic grammar school for 8 years, and was born exactly 4 months to the day before the commission of this shameful war crime. That fact alone gives me pause: was my American citizenship a "barrier" that somehow prevented my discovery of this miracle? Was it a fact too inconvenient and embarrassing to the United States to circulate in its public space? ( I notice also that Pedro Arrupe was one of the six. Later he would become the head of the Jesuits worldwide. )
It's understandable that the world doesn't want these facts known. Friendship of the world is to be an enemy of God.
I too only heard these facts about a years ago. The problem isn't the world, the problem is with the church not shouting these miracles from the roof tops.
But since the dawn of Vatican II the Church has been infiltrated by satanists.
. Thus the silencing of things such as these.
Not only this issue but many many Catholic Truths are silenced as well.
We have come to the time of having in the Church "Teachers who tickle the ears"!
The church pre Vatican II had an 80% Sunday Mass attendence, now in 2024 The Church has a 20% of Sunday Mass attendence.
Something is severely off and many bishops are either blind or intentionally silent on these facts.
. Many many basics of our faith gets scoffed at when mentioned to lukewarm Catholics.
May God help us all, because if you read the last chapter of Zechariah you will see, a far greater nuclear war is coming.
Yet the church Poo Poo's it away.
Many will perish.
The dead will be from one end of the earth to the other.
The Bible says these things. It's all in there in black and white.

I have read a book about it from I think it was 1945 with kinda oldish English... few years ago but yeah even there i don't remember having it said that they were doing what our lady of Fatima has said that people should do to be saved... to pray rosary.

My grandparents and parents suffered horrendously at the hands of the invading Japanese when they came to VN. The Japanese executed indiscriminately men and boys from the age of 16 upward just to show that they were the new lords and barons. What about the human rights of those victimized by the Japanese ?
Judging from the Priest's young voice, he obviously has zero understanding of history. During WWII, Imperial Japan imposed a years-long campaign of repeated human rights vilations and unimagineable and unspeakable atrocities on the peoples of continental Asia and the free nations of the western pacific. Her biggest blunder in December of 1941 was to attack Pearl Harbor, waking the United States from its isolationist slumber. Four years later in the Summer of 1945, a war wearied world witnessed the defiance and mortally sinful pride of a defeated nation that would sacrifice and fight to the last man, woman, and child to defend its island homeland from a final Allied land invasion which would have resulted in the deaths of millions more Allied and Japanese combatants and Japanese civilians. We had the means to end it quickly and we used it. I would not have wanted to be in President Harry Truman's shoes for all the tea in China. It was an extreemly tough call that had to be made and he made it. The resulting humiliation of Japan ensured that no such tyranny would be attempted again. So be it.
@@mrlxii62factually correct, assuming you understand that Truman was a high ranking member of a secret society. History is written by the winners or those who hold power over the press. People aren't even sure about what bombs were used as it looks so similar to carpet bombing. I really don't know what happened other than many defenseless innocent people were killed on order of a secret society member. As a former teacher of US history, I can't imagine trying to teach any of the falsehoods I unknowingly used to pass along. There was no internet or other resources to critically look into events that we have at our fingertips now.. We need to remember that it's always good vs evil. Truman had a choice. He dropped the bomb on Catholics on the feast of the Transfiguration on purpose. It's the 33 degree decision. I'm sorry for anyone in the world who has been harmed by evil. It is a valley of tears. Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us.

Father Schiffer wrote a booklet called The Rosary of Fatima. It was published by the Blue Army, now called World Apostolate of Fatima. So both they and Jesuits have changed since the 1950s

Thank you, father, but I disagree with your last line. It should be: May we always be on God's side. As sinners we distance ourselves from God and we never know that we are perfectly following His will, so we can't assume that He is always on our side...😢 He does desire salvation for us, but that is different than us deserving it in every instant of our lives.

As a Japanese Catholic, I thank you Father, for remembering Hiroshima. 😊 But I’m afraid I need to point out some facts below:
-There were actually more than 16 Jesuits living in Hiroshima city at the time and there were also 7 religious sisters of the Society of the Helpers of the Holy Souls. You can read a brief account of what happened in the online articles below:
“Researcher confirms that 16 Jesuits experienced Hiroshima A-bombing and told world of tragedy” (Article by Hiroshima Peace Media, Nov. 12, 2019)
“A-bomb memoirs reveal August 6 experiences of 16 Catholic priests from overseas” (Article by Hiroshima Peace Media, Nov. 12, 2019)
-Centre of Catholicism in Japan at the time was Nagasaki, not Hiroshima.
-The church building that appears in the photo used in this video is not a Catholic Church. It is Nagarekawa Methodist Church in Hiroshima. Rev. Kiyoshi Tanimoto of this Methodist church helped some of the severely injured Jesuits to cross the river so they could get to the Jesuit seminary outside the city centre. This is well documented in the book “Hiroshima” by John Hersey published in 1946.
Unfortunately, the Catholic Church building did not withstand the atomic bomb and everything was burnt down as it was built in a traditional Japanese style housing (made of wood).
I hope the world would come to know more about the heroic virtue of charity shown by these priests, brothers and sisters in such a difficult time that they lived in, and not only the fact that they survived the atomic bomb. God bless! 🙏✨

I had a dream right before this about a nuclear war. Angels, Orthodox Churches and all such things were in the dream. Men went insane and turned to animalistic self destruction afaint their neighbors. The world became possessed by evil.

I have a book of Saints here by Robert Ellsberg of Maryknoll, he says on p 62 that on August 6, 1945, Arrupe was serving just four miles from the center of Hiroshima. He was miraculously unharmed with 5 Jesuit brothers by the blast. He celebrated Mass remembering that day and the survivors he tended in the following weeks in each Mass he celebrated for the rest of his life, he died on February 5, 1991 according to Ellsberg.
I believe Nagasaki ground zero was the cathedral.
No, the Jesuits were in Hiroshima, the survivors in Nagasaki were at the Franciscan monastery built by St Maximilian Kolbe....our Lady told him to site it on a particular side of the mountain. St. Maximilian simply obeyed his Queen, No one understood why until 1945.

I believe and have witnessed actions of a higher power several times in my life, even though I was brought up in the church by our parents, for years I was a skeptic, even after several manifestations of unexplainable physical occurrences. There were however 4 that convinced me 100% there are powers of a nature beyond our ability to explain or comprehend. But we try. I believe the priests did have a holy intervention in part to protect them, but on the other side of the coin I can't help but wonder if somehow the walls of the church have a lead content in there design, or maybe a covering lead based which prevents radiation from passing through. I know it took America a while to hop on the lead based poisoned products train, even longer to eradicate and there still exists today lead products, house paints and toys being passed around. Some houses had countless coatings of lead based paint, which to me sounds like a perfect layer of protection in today's world of radiated products and government weapons testing. I also understand the fact that crews of nuclear submarines were given wine at meals to give them some type of protection, a lower absorption rate of the radiation if any existed. Wine is used as far as I know, greatly in the church. As for the extreme heat and portions of the structures left standing, I am not sure, that would to me be the divine intervention. Much like the cathedral in Coln Germany that survived immense bombings of the town, when everything around it was leveled to ground, even the stain glass wasn't scratched. They've been building that church for 300 years now. Giving credit to the skill and precision of the bombers and the fact that all historical sites were supposed to be off limits, not one stray bomb hit. I am around today if only by the grace of God and his representative, my Guardian Angel, who I met and chatted with in person, long enough to realize what he was and with two shocking and unexplainable to far to be random coincidences, yet factual and provable very personal connections. That in itself tells me I have a part to fulfill in Gods plan, much like the priests.
