As a recently born again Catholic after having being lost for about 35 years, I can't thank you enough for these videos. Father Ripperger's teachings are a great pillar for me in learning the right and true things about Catholicism. God bless Father Ripperger 🙏✝. Love from France.

I don't think i would say "born again Catholic" That's a protestant thing, we refer to ourselves as "reverts". I've been back for over 30yrs...welcome home. Have you seen the video called "Catholics come home"?? Awesome ... it will melt you❤

@RestoreJustice675 As Authentic True Catholics we must be very careful about being misguided by appearances and self-serving feelings that are so crazily popular today. Father Ripperger has great intellectual background but his Jesus-centered spiritual core far surpasses that. His intelect is just the sharp X-rays and radar to detect false Jesuses and disguised lies. We must grow to be the same.

Fr. Ripperger your UA-cam videos and episodes that you give is for me a virtual spiritual director in theological teacher. Here in New York City I ran into some priests from your area in Colorado who were here for the celebration of the sisters of life, at St Patrick's cathedral recently. I let them know for priests like you to preach from the pulpit. We need to know the real Catholic doctrine and tradition. We can no longer be anger around like lost sheep. I pray for the priest.. and I appreciate you for guidance and opening up of these doors for their homilies. For their weekly gatherings in teaching to the parishioners.
Through the Divine intervention in a dream that I went to the University of Saint Thomas in Houston Texas. This was in 1992. I believe it was Saint Mary's where the priest went to seminary School. Maybe you were there then, too. I was confirmed Catholic I was confirmed in 1995. In 2012 I had my birth records unsealed by judge in Detroit Michigan. My biological father was in Armenian Catholic. Is truly lovely to be careful. 🕊️❤️‍🔥✨

My understanding is that its a teaching of the church that you cannot pray, repent or even have a good thought unless God first gives you the actual grace necessary to do so.
So i cannot repent without grace, I cannot pray for mercy without grace, i cannot go to confession without grace.

I looked for a traditional Catholic retreat (any traditional Catholic retreat, not strictly Fr. Ripperger's) for about 4 years before I stumbled on one announced at my parish that usually wouldn't have been announced. They don't get advertised publicly, it seems to be more word-of-mouth, and within organizations connected somehow to the retreat master.
I'd guess your best bet is to join some organization that is somehow connected to Fr. Ripperger, in some way that you probably won't find out about until after you've joined.
      So glad they're on youtube.

Very good to get the audio. Extremely distracting to have random visual effects pop up in the presentation... I wound up putting a doubled cloth over the tv so I could concentrate on the words. I object to someone trying to push emotional laden images into my mind ... unless they are consistent with the audio material. Obviously Fr. Ripperger was writing on a blackboard ... but ... just saying. This is also a sort of 300 level lecture where one needs to 1. take notes and 2. Go over the recording more than once.

@@Kingship.of.Christ Grace means "free" as in a free gift. Merit means works of some sort. Ephesians 2:8 KJV "For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of GOD: 9 not of works, lest any man should boast."
Romans 5:12 KJV 12 Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, has abounded unto many. 16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. 17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) 18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous."
I could go on but then I would have to quote the entire Holy Scriptures to you.

A much simpler definition of Sanctifying Grace is the 'Indwelling of the Holy Ghost' - this is what 'Elevates' us to the Supernatural order and makes a friendship with God even possible.
Holiness is simply yielding to the Holy Ghost, who gives us a constant inclination toward doing Good.
This whole talk was predicated upon 'sufficient' Grace and not EFFICACIOUS Grace: Man saves himself 'with the help of God' - that's a HERESY known as SEMI-PELAGIANISM.
In reality, it is GOD who saves Man with the assent of his Free will.
We are all free to reject EFFICACIOUS Grace and, unfortunately, most of us do.
You should tell your listeners about EFFICACIOUS Grace, Father, which is a perfectly VALID 'alternative' school of thought in the Church instead of presenting 'sufficient' Grace as is if it were the only available option...
Those who are truly interested in Holiness would be eternally grateful.

So basically in order to get to heaven we must have the understanding of a theologian on all the particular aspects of grace, the virtues, sanctifying actions, etc. or else we’re doomed…the more I listen to Father Ripperger the more confused and discouraged I get.

Not necessarily, for it's written: "If I have all knowledge but have not love, I am nothing." (see 1 Cor 13)
I think a simpler approach could be stated as:
      1) stay in the state of grace (regular sacraments & prayer), and
      2) do good (aligned with God's will as well as one can tell)

A person who is not in a state of grace should pray in order to make and keep themselves receptive to the grace of repentance, so they can get into a state of grace as soon as possible.

Let me see if I understood a part of this lecture correctly: if I am in a state of mortal sin, when I pray, there is nothing there but breath and sound. Or, if I go to mass in a state of mortal sin, it means that I'm just in a holy building listening to a priest and, on my part, I'm just making breath and sound for one hour, nothing more?
In state of mortal sin, all that is holy is ultimately meaningless to the person. Is that so or am I missing something here?
Can somenone help me with this? Thanks...

    • @duathellto1460

There's no supernatural merit from anything a person does, while they are in a state of mortal sin. That doesn't mean there are no effects whatsoever from anything good a person does while in a state of mortal sin. Just no supernatural effects, because it's God's presence in the soul that produces supernatural effects.
In a state of mortal sin, the person can still work on breaking bad habits and forming good ones, and make an effort to incline themselves toward receiving the actual grace of repentance. It won't win heaven, because only Christ can do that for us, but if and when the sanctifying grace is restored, it'll probably help them stay in a state of grace afterwards. (Not adding mortal sins, like skipping Mass, on top of the one already committed is also very helpful.) Take a hypothetical drunkard in a state of mortal sin, who gets marooned on a desert island with plenty of food and whiskey. If he foregoes the whiskey and breaks the habit, after God gives him the grace of repentance, and he gets rescued and goes to Confession, is he likely to suddenly start getting drunk again? To be clear, you shouldn't wait to go to Confession until after you break the bad habit of sin, but clearly you can work on bad habits on a natural level and on the basis of God's actual grace, even while you have no sanctifying grace.
It's not that holiness is meaningless to a person in mortal sin, they just don't have it, and can't get it without receiving entirely unearned grace from God.

This made me think of a conundrum of sorts: ins't the human soul supernatural in some way since we are created at image and resamblance of God? And if it is, then wouldn't the human being also capable of something , albeit very small, supernatural?
      Thanks again for your comment.

@@douglasmotta5971 By Thomistic definitions, everything created by God is natural, and the soul is created by God. I think the reason for this categorization is that it clearly divides the things that God does from the things we do, and also the things that are finite, from the One who is infinite. Since many of our faculties reside in the soul, it would be a bit unusual to say that our thinking and perception are supernatural, right?
You might say that the creation of a soul is supernatural, since God does that. The initial creation of the entire material universe was also supernatural. And to some extent, everything God made resembles Him in some way and points toward who He is.

And, well, I don't take the thomistic view, otherwise angels are natural, ghosts are also natural and miracles are natural.

12:7 "and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.".

You know several times I have illuminated images used by Fr. Ripperger’s videos illustrate people not in the state of grace!
Please pay attention to close, highlighting images of people’s features such as close ups of eyes, mouths, ears, hands, faces. Some of these actually portray real, existing people involved in grievous sin! Can it be? Well it is!
    Ask the exorcist!?
Please find an illustrator able and capable in spiritual discernment. The present person/people are not! Peace.
May God provide and have mercy on any not willing nor committed to His Majesty and grace!
Lord, please make us holy, amen.

Homily on holiness. Beautiful pictures of cathedrals. Why in the first 3 minutes are you labeling a man’s wives as among the “ugliest women” imaginable. How might such a mean spirited comment make the thousands of women who look to you for guidance in their spiritual lives feel and think about themselves, women who consider themselves ugly, less worthy, unloveable. Please tell me Father, is that a sin and, if so, how serious is that sin? God is love. Is your comment categorizing some women as so ugly that they are beyond a man’s choosing them for marriage a loving statement? I think of it as massively unkind.
