I had trouble resetting the 'serv - oil' indicator & the oil tripmeter. I did it several times before I got it right. The instructions seem all correct. Press the Trip/Info button on the handlebar to the left to scroll to the oil tripmeter. Press and hold the button to the left again for a few seconds until the oil tripmeter starts flashing. And press and hold it for 15 seconds to reset. But I think the issue is I had to be pretty well exactly 15 seconds. Eventually, when the tripmeter was flashing, I started holding and counting the number off flashes to get it right. First time I held for 12 flashes. No good. Then 13, 14, and then 15 flashes of the 'oil' - voila, it reset. Hope that helps.
Thank you. I could not reset the oil service indicator, because the Yamaha information is too vague. Thanks to you, I have now been able to re-set it !
Thanks for the video on this, the owner’s manual is annoying vague on the reset procedure ! It says to hold the trip button after the oil trip counter is flashing for 15-20 seconds so you would be excused for thinking that the reset would happen whilst holding the trip button but not so, if you keep holding the trip button, it never resets, you literally have to count the times the display flashes 15 times & only then does the counter turn to zero.
This comment was perfect explanation. You need let it flash 15 times then hold the button in for 15 flashes. Was so annoying that the yamaha dealers. Not know how to do it on my last service
hello, have you noticed any oil consumption on your xmax 300??? mine looks like it's burning some, i did 1600km since last oil change and it's almost at 3/4 level... (my scooter has total of 3000km, bought 2nd hand, but still in warranty and i changed oil myself when i got it just for safety...)
Yeah I think it’s common for this engine, but nothing detrimental to the engine. There is someone explaining it in the comments section of my other videos but I forgot the name
if i do change my oil at 2500km.. how to i set the oil change warning alert to 2500km always? or when i reset at 2500km, it will take that as the algorithm?
Just bought a used 2019 with 3k miles with extended warranty till 2023. The oil level was low and dark too . I don't know if this is an issue with the xmax 300
Thanks for this video , you did a great job . Would you be so kind to tell me the size of the sump plug if only you know ? Is it a 12 mm x 1.5 , or a 14 mm x 1.5 ? Cheers .
From some comments I had from a viewer, they say they "think that it will not affect the reliability. Maybe the exhaust/catalyzer will be affected from oil consumption later. The XMAX are quite reliable and some already have exceeded 40,000kms with no problems..So no need to worry!"
Enjoyed watching your video, funny part is I don't even own a bike/scooter but if I do it would be an XMax 300. It would have been really helpful if you mentioned what parts your changing, like if I was supposed to buy those online or in a shop ( What O ring or What size washer?) or if you could have mentioned it below in your description, it would be way more helpful :)
Thanks for your comment! It wasn’t a tutorial so I didn’t think to mention the particular parts, but they’re common items you need for an oil change available anywhere 🙂

Thanks for the XMAX oil change video. Very helpful.
Thanks Warren, glad I could help 🙌🏽
Outstanding job, Well done, Jerry D.
Thanks Jerry!
Really cool buddy as always i enjoy your videos. Have a good day😎
Really grateful for the support Anthony 🙏🏽 enjoy your day too 🙌🏽
@@tapecknows 👍🏼😎. Any time buddy
Very simple to do on the 2023 model, theres a menu for counter reset (oil and V belt) select what one you want to reset and press ok
I'm glad they've made it easier on the new models!
Good day. What is the black box with the red button on the center of the handlebar?
It’s the controls for the heated grips
@@tapecknows Thanks a trillion.

I don’t think you can change the interval when the bike shows the change oil alert.
Nice video….can you please make a video how to replace the coolant and how to open the radiator cap…..thanks
Thanks for watching!
Thanks from Slovakia 👍

Anyone got any idea why mine won't reset? The "oil serv" warning came on so not sure if that changes things. I've changed the oil and filter.
Did you manage to reset it?

I think it is a characteristic of the XMAX 300, I heard it likes to consume oil
How can I get my dashboard to read miles instead of km/h
Is that possible?

Thanks! I don’t know the dimensions of the sump plug but I’m sure your local dealer can help 🙂
@@tapecknows They cant tell me either , and YAMAHA XMAX specs dont tell you either ,
Thanks anyway .
Any symptom for the oil consumption ? I had this issue with my pcx , now currently change to xmax 250 , greetings from Malaysia. Cheers.

@@tapecknows any root cause for the oil consumption?
I think that’s just how the engine was built
What's the part number for the crush washer?

@@tapecknows Awesome, thanks so much!
Hello,
Manual said 5,000km oil change interval. May I know the reasoning behind your 3,000km oil change?
Mine was done 3,000 miles not km. We work with miles here in the UK

what u need to do first 1000 km i want to do it myself. dealer in holland asks 200 euros
I think it's really only an oil change and make sure everything else is running correctly. I'd check the owner's manual for specifics
How would you dispose of excess oil??
Your local recycling points, check your borough’s website for more info 😎
Hey on the Roscoe 6, is it heavy?
Pretty heavy compared to the other bikes I have. It weighs around 15.8kg stock
How come it's so corroded? I've never seen a new bike that corroded!
It’s all the salt on the roads here in the winter
Peccato, non capisco l'inglese e non riesco a fare il reset del display! :(
scusate 😢
First thing I would be investing in before socket set is anti rust fluid, everywhere metal, after a power wash!
Haha yeah true! I need to take care of that as well 😅
It does Not work this way at 2021 modell unfortunately.
Edith: it does go
Thanks for sharing!
@@tapecknows I have asked my garage today. He gave me the tip to measure exactly 15 seconds with a stopwatch. That worked!!
