As a recently new owner of an AE Cadence Limited Edition (Titanium, 8Hz, but same case shape with the regular 41mm AE), it wears quite a bit smaller on wrist than 41mm suggests, and I'd bet with the thinness of the XPS it would feel even more so. My main nit-picky point is the relative lack of bracelet taper, but I've come around to see it more as a feature than a bug (i.e the watch slides up and down your wrist less). The watch is also blingy. Even my titanium one which is darker is still pretty blingy (but according to Teddy Baldassarre, it's still *less* blingy than a royal oak or an overseas). I think not enough can be said about the movement finishing of this XPS version though...it's literally top of the food chain stuff. 22k gold micro rotor with exquisite finishing everywhere AND the geneva seal as a cherry on top...this is in the ring with the pateks/APs/VCs of the world. The latter two can't even put the geneva seal on their movements. And when you factor in all that, $24k starts sounding like a bargain. all that said, I love my AE Cadence and its become my favorite watch in no time and Chopard has risen to become my favorite watch brand of all time. If you haven't tried on an AE yet, I almost hesitate to say you should...it'll live in your head rent free. Cheers! edit: just fact checked and I see that VC does have the geneva seal on some of their movements oops
Great input Sir! And great choice with the Cadence. I have got the 41 on my radar but i need Chopard to get on with rubberstrap options for the 41 First.Rumour says its coming
Very good watch. I follow this channel for a while now and I congratulate you for the quality of the reviews and the all time, all weather smiley face. Jenni, If I may make a comment, I would suggest you review/enhance your sound recording arrangement ... Other than that, do not change anything. Cheers,
I don't have an XPS but I have 2 Alpine Eagle 41s the steel with blue face and the two tone rose gold with grey face and they are both in the top end of my favorite watches in my collection of about 30 which includes rolex, panerai, hublot, breitling, franck muller, cartier, JLC and a few others. The alpine eagle is a beautiful watch and I'm really happy with both of them. I'd love the all rose gold model with blue face if I find at a good price!
The Chopard Alpine Eagle is an amazing watch, looks gorgeous on your wrist. Still no match for a Royal Oak. The 2 points I have a problem with are the bezel, to tick and round, as well as the micro-rotor, which is not so elegant imo. Maybe try a Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda Pf 36 mm steel warm grey with the diamond baguette markers ?
I own a gray dial AE😊😊😊😊😊 nice watch but got mine used at a local watch dealer…. mine does not have the small seconds…. mine is the b.tthole dial😊😊😊😊😊 the bracelet link removal system is really cool in comparison to other watches
Great review. Love the dial but the small seconds and Roman numerals are deal breakers for me. Also, if the bracelet tapers, it’s minimal - looks like an Omega bracelet.
Great review and thank you! You mentioned the dial has a more light bronze than pink color...does this change with lighting, say inside to outside, to night? Thanks again!
I own a regular Alpine Eagle 41 with a grey dial and I find the fit on the wrist absolutely perfect. It now retails at 15.900€ so it isn’t cheap at all, but the finishing of the case and bracelet is very high end and the caliber is COSC certified. And the dial with its iris pattern is really gorgeous. So, as it is easily available, I consider it to be a very nice and reasonable alternative to the more prestigious but unattainable and completely overpriced Royal Oak, Nautilus or Overseas. The only criticism I would make is that, though considered harder, lucent steel is still very prone to scratches, especially with the polished center part of each link of the bracelet. I don’t mind it too much, but if you really wear the watch daily and casually, as I do, it will definitely get scratched.
Mhmm I guess that's a matter of personal preference? Thin watches 'read' very elegant to me but I can see how one might find some watches too thin, e.g. the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra or something along those lines :-D I'd be scared to crack them in half by accident :-D
Thank you for this informative video , especially that I was considering this lovely watch but I have also a request 😊could you ply make a review about the Tag heur carrera in the pink dial ? Many thanks in advance ❤
It is so expensive at the moment in the 2nd hand market is because Chopard has not really delivering the model yet, there is a delay in their production.
hätte die uhr im september direkt bei chopard direkt kaufen können.. hab es aber dann nicht gemacht. aber werde es vermutlich noch wenn ich das geld dazu habe :D wär aufjedenfall ne urh die ich als daily tragen würde.
I prefer the Streamliner, and having had both on the wrist the Streamliner is much more visually captivating to me. Nice vid, Jenni Hope you, your husband and baby are well
This model has a far better movement than the RO: one of the best and historically significant micro rotor movements on the market, with Geneva seal. So I personally don’t think it’s overpriced. Were it an AP or a Patek, it would cost 10k more and I think nobody would complain.
@lefataliste thank you for that. I really hate how people compare it to a regular alpine eagle the movement in the xps is on another level and is why its more expensive.
T4YC: It's now recognised as a thing to have "fatigue" of certain watches. And I am starting to get fatigued by integrated bracelet watches. I am on the list for one, and I am starting to not be excited about it. Perhaps it's just a flash in the pan. I also grew up through the 70's and remember what happened to that generations integrated bracelet models.
Market price is now below Retail price, or at least I am seeing it pop up. I really like the watch, but I think it will go down in price. It's close or was close to retail because it's new.
This integrated bracelet hype is bound die at some point. What will have to AP then? They're literally a one watch brand. The only other line they have is code 11.59 which hardly anyone ever buys.
Well, it got weeker at some point in history and has never been stronger, that's for sure, but bear in mind that ap and patek have been able to maintain the strength of their integrated sports model for over 50 years. These iconic models will outlive the trends
Nice watch, chopard have good design ,but i dont know why luxury brands just compet for having the most expensive watchs, its just like if the high price were the only reason making the watch interesting for rich customer,
Well, not perfect since the bracelet needs a microadjustment mechanism. I’m mystified why this feature isn’t absolutely standard on nicer watches. Even my 500 euro kickstarter watch on bracelet has a pretty darn good microadjustment.
I love the bracelet, and since the bracelet is the biggest attraction for me in the RO that's really sth. But I dislike the association with AP. It's not independent enough for me, I wish the bezel was more original and the watch overall had sth captivating that would make it its very own thing
personally I neither like AP nor RO, yet this Chopard stands not the palest of a chance to challenge it... let's be serious, please. looks very, very ugly to me, yet I respect all taste.
Nah, RO looks a lot nicer for me. This looks too generic, looks like a Hublot lol. Saying move over Royal Oak is a bit silly. girl calm down with the clickbait.
I personally don’t think it silly to point the fact that the RO has become over the years a questionable offer: non COSC nor Geneva seal certified central rotor movement, only 50m water resistance, a price ranging roughly between €27k and €30k and a dramatic scarcity… I personally think there are good reasons to try to find a nice and reasonable alternative! Just my opinion of course.
@@lefataliste I agree but it's still silly to say move over RO for this piece. I wear my OP most days but my RO is still dreamy to look at and from one of the very best watchmakers to boot.
@@lefataliste I mean, she didn't even point out any of the things that you did about the RO, you did a better job in your comment lol Like all youtubers in the watch collecting community, she knows that if she says something dramatic or mentions 'Rolex'' or 'Royal Oak' she will get more clicks. It's literally just clickbait. I didn't click on the video for the watch itself, I clicked because she insinuated that it was going to dethrone the Royal Oak(Which I don't remember her mentioning)
The Alpine Eagle 41 is my grail watch. This thing is gorgeous. Thanks for reviewing it.
It is STUNNING!! Thanks for watching :-)

good call on getting the 8hz ti model. would be my choice as well. amazing watch.
Very well put and good point about the bracelet - though I'd love to see a taper eventually ;-) (hope Grand Seiko would do that, too :-D!!)

Did you Had the Chance to Check Out the XPS already? If yes, how does it wear different to the normal 41 mm? Thank you
@@ricok4595 I have not.
The Chopard is an amazing watch. Excellent video 👍😎
This watch helps to put Chopard on the radar. Looks very elegant.

Its shine so bright. I have st moritz 8739 with salmom dial, whenever i wore my watch everyone looked at my wrist because its shine
Hi @jenni any idea how it wears on a wrist closer to yours? say 6"?
They're very nice. More scratch resistant than a sub? Not on the bezel I would think. what watch were you wearing in the video- a Datejust 36?
I own a gray dial AE😊😊😊😊😊 nice watch but got mine used at a local watch dealer…. mine does not have the small seconds…. mine is the b.tthole dial😊😊😊😊😊

How about a review on the newest 38mm AP Code’s. The navy with the rose gold looks pretty amazing. Maybe a IBWC candidate!

How important do you think the ”hight” is for you from a visual point of view? I sometimes think some watches are too thin…

Gorgeous watch
Mover or Move?! 😁 Well done Jenni great review - love this watch but shame it's so pricey!

The cut scene had me laughing!
Can't go wrong with a bit of Missy Elliot from back in the days ;-D
Beautiful watch, but I would prefer the skeleton TT in Titanium in the same price range.
I would take the Zenith Defy skyline over that. Very classy watch with AP vibes.
I prefer the Streamliner, and having had both on the wrist the Streamliner is much more visually captivating to me.
Nice vid, Jenni
Hope you, your husband and baby are well
What about the weight?
No micro-adjust though 😢
For the price, I will still buy a RO, this needs to be 30% cheaper at least to be a popular model
This model has a far better movement than the RO: one of the best and historically significant micro rotor movements on the market, with Geneva seal. So I personally don’t think it’s overpriced. Were it an AP or a Patek, it would cost 10k more and I think nobody would complain.

For me i think the 5712 is the best
Just got Alpine Eagle 36m on my 6.3inch its fit perfectly
I envy you!:) congrats

Why no taper on the bracelet? That would have made it wear more elegantly.
To my eye, and taste, there’s the VC Overseas, and everything else.
Can't ignore the Moser Streamliner
💯
It'll be wow for my wrist
It is more of a personal choice but this dial actually reminds me of certain distal portion of human digestive system.
Love it and would definitely pick it over a RO
Thanks for the video Jenni.
For me, no. I find the Roman numeral hideous on a sports watch - I'd have a GP Laureato over this any day.
I can understand that but I personally like the dressy touch of the Roman numerals. A matter of personal taste of course.
Honestly the baume riviera looks quite similar. I’d rather have baume
what is olex?
The alignment of the slots in the screws draws my eyes away from that beautiful dial which ruins the visual pleasure of the watch for me.
Nice dance 🕺🏻
❤❤❤
Nice review. Love the dance. But no micro adjust, polished centers, not perfect.
Nice watch, chopard have good design ,but i dont know why luxury brands just compet for having the most expensive watchs, its just like if the high price were the only reason making the watch interesting for rich customer,
Everytime I see tht dial I wonder where the cat is, you could tuck a tea towl in that......
Nice but the hype will die away pretty soon, then you can pick one up on the grey mkt for list or less!
very nice 👌🏼

I wish the bracelet had more taper
The IBWC would like to see how it wears on a small wrist!
101% mega-agreed
What is it with these companies charging a premium for taperless bracelets??? Ruins the watch 😢
I love the bracelet, and since the bracelet is the biggest attraction for me in the RO that's really sth. But I dislike the association with AP. It's not independent enough for me, I wish the bezel was more original and the watch overall had sth captivating that would make it its very own thing
It is not Hyped Approved but surely enthusiasts Approved...😅
😂😂😂😂
The only let down is the bracelet…
The no taper kills the watch, yuck
It does have taper , I own the same watch
as the time teller would say, it has a butthole dial. The Royal Oak is so much better
Someone told me the dial looks like a bum hole 😳 now I can’t un see it 🫣
Yeaaah, no...
It‘s not perfect. It has no taper.
Yep
What doesn’t taper? The bracelet looks to be 20/16 to me
The Alpine Eagle looks like an asshole to me, hope they make a dark brown version so we can see what happens.
65 hour power reserve is not impressive. It is very unimpressive for such an expensive watch.
Yes Tissot make 80 strange
Nope 👎🏻
Abit too much editing for the thumbnail, dial colour was way off
Too big
Jesus this thing is hideous 😂😂😂
personally I neither like AP nor RO, yet this Chopard stands not the palest of a chance to challenge it... let's be serious, please. looks very, very ugly to me, yet I respect all taste.
I like Chopard generally, but this one ain't it. Looks like a department store fashion watch.

AP & Patek are so overated... there are many better offerings for much less on offer. The Alpine Eagle is outstanding.
first!
