I think this was executed great, the focus of this show is on friendship, and the finale is about how they are growing up and moving on from the days where everything was their friendship. When they kissed, it was too early, when james said he would wait, he knew why they needed to.
I love this scene, and I am gutted that we didn't get to see more of james and erin's romance, but orla's reaction at the end to the man with the hammer made my day! 😂😂😊
"This is incest!" Although James points out that it isn't really incest, Michelle might feel that way, since the gang are as close as family at this point.
This is all the more heartbreaking after the series finale when you learn Michelle has a brother that the family disowned after he joined the NRA and killed an innocent person. She sees her friends as family and doesn't want to lose any more family.
This is the closest DG gets to a romance involving any of the main 5 characters, which is very disappointing. To the people downvoting my comment: You prefer that nothing more happened?

How is it too early? Wait for what?
How cruel of Derry Girls for teasing us with this scene and then not having any more romantic scenes with Erin and James
Yes, yet when I mention that many people tell me that it's better that nothing more happens.
Did you not watch ep7 they were so sweet 😭
Oh and for what it's worth the creator says she sees them together when they're older ❤
@@drartemisa21 Yet doesn't include that in any ep!

Michelle is 100% in the wrong, including assuming they'll have a bad break-up.
It makes a lot more sense after the series finale when we find out what happened to her brother. She really doesn't want to lose anyone anymore.

Aww. Erin & James kissing in a place in County Donegal. ☘️
Most beautiful county, from a dub. RIP Trá na Rosann
Erin & James should've ignored Michelle & popped each others' cherries!

Ummmmmmmm their kids.

@@yuvalsela4482 Michelle is straight, so how would that work?
@@DavidZ4-gg3dmnot necessarily. she could be bi, she could be lying to herself, she could be a lot of things
@@yuvalsela4482 She's very outspoken. If she were, we'd know.
