    I did 2 windows on my wife's Escape. Best instructional video I've watched in a long time. Outstanding. Almost impossible to fail. Thank you!!

      Thanks, JIGA. That's how they're designed...to follow along to while actually working on the car. If trying to be entertained, they are boring to watch...believe me, I've tried. Thanks for watching!

    Excellent instructional video - really like you style of teaching. Thank you. just completed driver door on 1991 F-150XLT truck and now have to do my 2002 E350 SDXLT van - this was the closest video to that vehicle. I feel much better about starting that job now.

    That's great if the regulator cable isn't broken or the motor for it isn't burnt out which is the reason you'd be replacing it anyway. So what if you can't raise or lower the window?

    I would say definitely a good video help me a lot. My only problem is the top corner piece a triangle looking thing I cannot get it back in the freaking car it won’t stay. I did everything you said step-by-step, but I think that thing broke and I don’t know what to do or how to fix it any help will be greatly appreciated. Everybody make sure to keep up with the screws from the door panel because there are a difference between the screws I didn’t keep Track of which screw went in which hole and putting it on. Was a problem I figured out which screw went into which hole and it went on perfectly Other than a triangle looking thing at the top, right.

    Does anyone know or can make any sense about this video? If the motor doesn't work in the first place, (which is why I'm replacing the thing!) then how is one expected to roll the window down using the switch to enable the removal of the 2 screws that hold the window in place?

    My motor is broken and the window is all the way down. How can i raise the window to get the bolts in the access point?

    • @GreaseMonkeyFever
      @GreaseMonkeyFever  7 місяців тому +1

      If you remove the door panel and weather protectant, the door should have openings that will allow you to get a wrench in and get the two bolts. From there, you can slide the glass up and out. It's tight, but accessible. Thanks for watching!

    Question... The one I need to repair has a dead motor. What do I do to separate the window itself from the bracket when the window is all the way up?

    • @GreaseMonkeyFever
      @GreaseMonkeyFever  7 років тому +1

      I had to work on a friend of a friends car (forgot what model/year it was) that was like that, but what I did was cut the cable on the regulator. I had someone hold the window steady and lower it during the process.

    • @GreaseMonkeyFever
      @GreaseMonkeyFever  7 років тому +1

      P.S. - On the backside of the track that the lift plate runs along, you have access to the thin steel cable. But with a good cut tool, you can also cut through the thicker cable sleeve. And if you happen to have the type of regulator that runs on a gear rather than a cable, just unbolt and pry the motor out.

      rgfisher21 Its actually easier to replace the motor and regulator at the same time. Got a complete oem replacement unit from PartsGeek for about $60. Hope this helps.

    what if the motor doesnt work for the drivers side and the window is all the way up???

    • @GreaseMonkeyFever
      @GreaseMonkeyFever  5 років тому +1

      You can tape the window to keep it from falling down, reach in the door and cut the cables on the regulator, then let the window down to remove the motor/regulator assembly. Thanks for watching, Jerry!

      Get a glass suction cup tool at your local hardware store or harbor freight has them for like $4. It doesn't leave the residue that tape does and it also provides a handle to work with, you can use it to hold the window in place while you are working on it.
