Been a huge fan of Grindstein for a while now. I'm using it in my mix and my live sound. Exactly one of the reasons I love the Grindstein is it has the capacity for ugly and pretty both. You did great in making this pedal and all the EQ work and IRs you helped put out. The sound of this Grindstein pedal is so versatile. Its punishing on the low end, but still has clarity on the brights. At first I was using it exclusively for rhythms, but it's so very good for leads too. It doesn't lose definition or articulation. I can still hear the chugs when I palm mute, I can still hear clarity with the really high notes. I love the Grindstein. Probably my favorite pedaltone I ever used. Not ONLY is it a good pedal, it's also a good preamp. One of the best I've ever used.
@@KohleAudioKult it was a good thing that you did. Love both of your guys content and it would be cool if you collaborated again in the future. And yes, Kyle should do a video on the Grindstein!
Kohle and Kyle Bull in the same room, talking about HM-2s? That's some fucking content right there. Edit: Also, you gotta try a seven string a bit more and think of it as playing in drop tuning and having a whole six string still in standard on all the strings below the 1st. It's the best of both worlds.
Love seeing portable fly-rigs. Very much where I'm at these days. I currently have a Laney Ironheart Pedal on my board-rig and it does a basic job, but I definitely feel like I wanna spice it up with some "unpolite"! 😈
My caveman brain also struggles with more than six strings which is a real shame. I recently purchased a Jackson KV7 Corey Beaulieu Pro model to learn some Trivium and I'm makong slow progress. Too bad there's, "no way back just through." I really appreciate that Kristian and Kyle finally got to be on camera in the same room. The fact that Kyle gets to go "brutal" here and later (outside of his comfort zone and my knowledge base) was fun and will continue to be so. Kristian and Kyle, thank you both for spreading knowledge that has personally shaped what I do with gear. Stay awesome.
the good old infamous boss hm2..back then almost everyone made fun of it and hated it and now some people are so stupid to pay 300€ for it. i bought mine for 25€ used back then and still have it just because i was too lazy to sell it and didn`t know what its worth it right now just like the ibanez ts10, DOD 250 etc.., same (price) hype for no reason, cheers 🎸🎸
Learn to build them yourself and you quit worrying about all this shit. I just built a klone for under 20$. Built an HM-2 last month and am working on an FX69 right now.
a HM-2 chainsaw clone in front of an solid state amplifier is just a recipe for a tonal disaster and also a nice titel for a horror movie "the HM chainsaw massacre" 😂👍
I have a HM-2 Heavy metal Boss pedal that I bought when I was 14 years old. It is actually the first pedal I had. However, I stopped using it when I discovered the Super overdrive pedal. But, after so many years I am starting to reconsidering to use it again.
Yes please, do a video kyle. That will make a sad overweight man in texas cry his eyes out. Grinstein is a fantastic pedal, dont think it needs a boost though.
I can get this tone using a EHX Russian Big Muff. Volume to taste. Gain at 20%. Tone at 100%. I put it after an overdrive, with the base tone being a normal 5150 tone. You can do the same with a Swollen Pickle Fuzz as well. Awesome vid!
i've tried several times to use on my stuff chainsaw tone beacause i love swedish death metal but i failed every time. no note articulation mushy lows fuzzy as hell. i prefer the classic high gain metal tone, scooped but not too much. it's also a matter fo riffs and tuning, i use standard e or one tone below, but my riffs are not adeguate to this tone. palm mutes are not good only bigger open power chords on E and at max on A strings and some leads. i have to try the grindstein that blends hm-2 with regular distortion. as you demonstrate.
@@KohleAudioKult I agree, it's a fair price and I was being a tiny bit facetious! Whenever you want to start giving away some of that extra gear, us hobbyists would gladly take it!
All due respect, I love you guys, no offense but over the years I have to realize again and again that the "HM-2 type sound" ( ̶c̶h̶a̶i̶n̶s̶a̶w̶ ̶t̶o̶n̶e̶ compressed fart sound) is really not for me.😅
To be fair, it's not a good tone at all. I can't like it for the life of me. The grindstein pedal actually made it somewhat passable, but not for me still 😂😂
How do you like my quick and dirty chainsaw rig? 😇
Oh man that was lots of fun! 😆🤘 And Kyle Bull dropping in for some chugga chugga?! 🤘😆🤘 BROOOTAAALLL!!!! 💀💀💀
Naassttyyy sounding.
I love it! 🤘🤘🤘
Getting Kyle in was even more spontaneous! I dragged him in when the camera was already rolling.

Noob. Any of the bands with this tone in the style of like six feet under?

Don’t use it if you want a „good“ sound. But it’s nice for the nasty stuff!
Want to grab that Grindstein pedal!!! 🤘🤘🤘
More love from Pennsylvania, right here!

Just stopped by to show some love to the Grindstein Plug-in, my #1 go to option for heavy chugs 🤘🏽 😎
For a reason! Great to hear that!
Hey Kristian! Cant wait for your new hapas guitar review man!
Coming closer 😜
Have you ever worked with Dismember? These tones recall them.
They’re one of the Godfathers of that tone!
Klirton in front of amp?
It just sounds great! I definitely have to buy the Grindstein pedal... 🤘
I would call that a fantastic idea, but I might be slightly biased 🤩

Still arguing who's Fiesta?! I don't care, brown or blue I really took that thing at the Junkyard into a bloody rush. Namastè.
Hold my husqvarna! I can barely handle such satanic belligerence!
Great video and collab!
Has the Bull mentioned he loves 5150's? :p
summary: how to get a shitty tone for a lot of money 😂
Only hm2.
I like that Kohle thinks a $1000 guitar is affordable lol
That’s a good price for a great guitar!
But I do know that as a professional I live in a different world than a hobby guitarist or other people.
