cool.. silver sealer is just a thin layer of aluminum paint. It will not alter sound in any way noticeable. Its just for moisture protection. It started out to hide ugly wood.. but thats nother story (pretty much like the white paint in ludwig 60's drums)
I mean, if you really wanted that visual appeal, you certainly could. For me, it was strictly because it would help this drum match my other shells that go with this kit. Just be very careful as to the masking off the holes and shells to avoid overspray, I was fortunate that even if I had gotten some paint in the outside, I was still going to refinish that afterwards (video coming next week!)
Honestly, I can’t say there’s any distinct improvement in sound, but I didn’t do any sort of scientific analysis of the sound before vs after. That would be a cool experiment, but I have my doubts it would really help sonically above the other things that do like shell construction, bearing edges, heads, rims, etc.
Yes, it's aluminium chain link fence paint. Don't worry about the "Purists" they're mentally deranged and suffer from ARD (Anal Retentive Disorder). I would go for repainting the insides of the other drums (mask off gretsch decal).
I mean, even if it’s not a sonic enhancement, I can appreciate a company hang goes through the process of finishing and making the inside of a drum look nice for the consumer.
Don't forget to subscribe to my channel if you want to see the final reveal of this kit!

Thanks for watching.
As always great video Mike!!✌️🏼
Thanks Adrian!
Great video, thank you. Do you suggest doing it to my Catalina Club Mod kit?

The internal Silver Sealer, paint influence the drum sound?😊
I don’t believe it does
Did it add to that Great Gretsch sound or mod the sound on the floor Tom?

@@malonedrum Agreed. I think the solver sealer is more of a "Gretsch touch" giving them a distinction from the rest of the Gretsch lines.
I should do that for fun to my catalina elite you love haha
I've seen people do the same thing! But it probably would just be "for fun" I don't think it's going to change the sound much honestly.
No no lol it’ll sound like a broadkaster if I do that to it right? I’m kidding yeah it would be for fun
@@kjeason6508 maybe your right! The real great Gretsch sound.
Cool man! Nice job
Thanks for checking out Spencer!
Nice job! Does it sound better?
I can't say I actually notice any sonic change.
Great job.
Thanks for checking it out! Part two of this one comes out next Monday, stay tuned.
That was great!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice job
Thanks Serge!

I don’t see any need to repaint ones that already have it, but yes, I believe it’s nothing for than this and maybe a coat of satin poly on top.
@@malonedrum No poly, leave it as is, just clean it up with a damp rag.
Of course there is no sound difference. It's paint.....just like the actual silver sealer.nothing special, all placebo
