Nothing like watching a pair of Jugs lift off and bounce enemy aircraft!

Oil cooler wide open just in case better to have a bit low temp then too high. And with water injection you can push 64" but not in every situation, always monitor your carb air temp.
Can't remember is it 40C or 45C but when your carb air temp goes above this value air fuel mixture temp is too high and it may cause self igniting or detonations.

Nothing beats a leisurely flight on the Channel Map in the P-47.

    Nice video.
I particularly appreciated the tech talk. I'm learning DCS in the Jug and while there seems to be a lot of info posted on how to make it run there is very little on how to optimize it.
I'm no where competent enough at basic flying to be doing MP yet. That's where all the juicy info is. (There's a while boneyard of Jugs I bent on takeoff 😃)

Great video. I *really* wish you'd thrown in an exterior view of the gear failure and landing. You barely took any hits, so I'm surprised you had gear trouble at all.

I really need to get into this game. Put in 10 year in Ace High II/III end up quitting do to massive decline in players.

Water injection is especially useful down low. I was wondering about your low manifold pressure durign the fight.

Wonderful work. How do you do the closeup flybys? Can seem to find the keys for this

Now I feel better about buying the Jug. Yeah, it's an enormous mussle machine with a cockpit aptly described as a bath tub and acres of panel filled with gauges. But elegance is not everything 😂

I noticed your altimeter is reading over 8,000 on takeoff? Missed it I guess

It's been a while. Does the P-47 have an emergency LG release? This would drop the gear using gravity and hard lock it in place. Love your vids. Wish they were longer. 🙂

There’s a hydraulic hand pump. That might have pumped the gear down if it was a pump issue.

One thing that REALLY annoys me is how you never use water injection/full power. With water injection, you should be able to easily run 67"+ mp no problem. There is literally no downside to running water injection at all. Its actually healthier for these engines to run wet than dry. Why you would not do that in a dogfight or when running really escapes me. Its like running mw50 in the d9, which you can do until the tank runs out without hurting the engine (because it lowers intake temps drastically, another reason why the brits never used direct fuel injection operationally. You would sacrifice the cooling effect of the fuel vaporization almost completely).
Hell, you can ram air 75" into it for a while and it will be fine...

What really annoys me is that you don't seem to have listened to the video
