Actually the song is a Motherhood ode full of symbolisms and methaphors. EAEA addresses the issue of the importance of family' s cultural heritage, epitomised by his grandmother's red fringed manila shawl.
It winks at part of Spanish culture above all inspiring in Federico Garcia Lorca's poetry and Carlos Saura ' s cinematography with a kind of ancestral ritual .
Definitely, Spain wishes to share this small art work with all Europe this year.

Thanks for the meaning, it's beautiful. I think that it’s a lullaby of protection and eternal connection. This is similar to Conchita's feelings. All that folklore that is the ritual.

Blanca Paloma's song is a play, a performance made to be represented and with the staging it makes sense, using Spanish (Lorca) but also universal symbolic references. It is an invocation, a call, a song to what makes us feel safe and strong at the same time, which makes us enter a hypnotic trance.
She relates it to her grandmother, to that maternal thing that takes care of us and protects us. The red fringes that hang down and that she already explained were engraved on her grandmother's shawl, form a circle that is like a maternal womb that illuminates and nourishes us. She goes through the uterus that is fertilized (this is how I understand those hands that surround her and hold her for a few seconds). Then the miracle of life is done.
The moon is the symbol of the feminine, which engenders, nourishes and makes it grow. It is present every night except when it goes out on a new moon. During the performance, the sound "ea, ea" is repeated loudly and rhythmically, which is the lullaby that mothers sing to children when they are afraid, when they cry, to reassure them and give them strength. Nothing bad is going to happen... The dancers also imitate the movement of the arms that they cradle in a spasmodic way. It looks like a sway of waves... Because the sea also lulls and transforms with the phases of the moon and is the quintessential feminine element. The base that sounds below the telluric song and the allusions to the heartbeat complete the visual and sound elements of the set.

I am honestly interested in which region you're from. I (and I expect most people from outside of Spain) don't know much about the cultural differences between the different regions of Spain. Germany, after all, isn't all identical to Bavaria, though that's the impression everyone outside of it has. And France is far more than just Paris.
So tell us about Spain and it's regional differences.

I do know about the Basque. Basque is such a _weird_ language … so different, it apparently dropped out of the sky and landed near the Pyrenees! 😂 It's like a grab-bag of linguistically unusual features!
I know that Galicia, in the northwest, is going to be heavily-gaelic-influenced (I mean, it's right there in the name). But I was not aware that any continental Gaelic survived the Roman Conquest.
So you said the southeast … would that be bordering the Pyrenees? _edit_ I'm an Idiot. I was thinking northeast. Southeast … I know nothing about. Though I do recognize the name Benidorm. 😉
Again, I'm truly interested in some of the differences, beyond just language or DNA.
_Edit:_ Okay, I went and looked it up. Gallician is not a gaelic language, but part of the Romance languages. It's closer to Portuguese than it is to (Castilian) Spanish.

Conchita tiene mejor gusto musical que todos los españoles acomplejados que son incapaces de conectar con esta maravilla. Para que luego digan que "fuera no lo iban a entender'
No sé si eres una persona muy joven o muy soberbia para afirmar de una forma tan alegre que los españoles que no conectamos con esta canción somos personas acomplejadas. Siempre he oído que para gustos se hicieron los colores. Y el color (el tono) de la voz de Blanca Paloma cuando sube el volumen, no es cálido. Por eso a tantas personas no nos resulta agradable y a otras que prefieren esos tonos más agudos, les encanta. No es una canción, es una propuesta poética teatralizada y musicalizada y, te gusta, o no te gusta. No tiene término medio. Y no se trata de que sea algo basado en el flamenco. El flamenco puede gustar a muchísima gente de todo el mundo, porque apela a los sentimientos y eso es algo particular y subjetivo. De hecho, conozco andaluces a quienes esta canción no les gusta especialmente, por no decir nada. Le deseo a "Eaea" lo mejor, pero, si lo que queremos es que nuestra canción encante a todo el mundo, primero, eso es imposible y segundo, creo que la versión acústica hubiera llegado al corazón de mucha más gente.

You have known how to see beyond the melody, the timbre of voice or the arrangements.
It's enlightening to hear you say these things even though, like this song, Eurovision is not the most appropriate place for these words.

I don't know why I can't post there, I've already tried to write a comment, pushed the send button, but my UA-cam app wouldn't allow me to post it. But I think, it's an issue with the app. Anyways, nice eong, it's really magical, almost as if these women were witches who summon all of their magic and are casting spells in order to make everyone addicted to their song. I'm totally under their spell. And this isn't just me. Actually almost everyone except for a few exceptions.

El flamenco recoge una tradición musical religiosa judeocristiana y musulmana y el LAMENTO del pueblo egipciano, y ahora se introduce un elemento pagano, qué es el ritual a la LUNA , (astro femenino sea madre o sea la muerte, a la que ella invoca para poder cuidar del niño depues de muerta) y el presentimiento de que ella va a MORIR pronto ,, todos ellos elementos típicos de Federico García Lorca
La canción de Chanel nos llevó a Hispanoamérica, sin embargo Blanca Paloma nos lleva al flamenco, a la España Andalusi ( AL-ANDALUS que iba de Cádiz a Zaragoza) y la música de los pueblos que en ella coexistieron
Finalmente, EA, Ea se usa para arrullar a un bebe pero también para animar (RAE) , y así en los tablaos flamencos se usa para decir :vamos, vamos, por eso el movimiento de la mano de ella, y el diferente ritmo entre la nana dirigida al niño y el resto de la canción (BP lo usa para arrullar pero también para jalear.)
lo importante fue que el flamenco es patrimonio cultural de la humanidad según la UNESCO y estuvo representado dignamente el sábado en Eurovisión.

Agoney era mejor opción para representarnos en Eurovisión.
Pues yo soy española y a mi no me conecta con nada, no me gusta nada la canción, pero nada. Me da igual lo bien que canta, y me da igual la puesta en escena, la canción es insufrible y no hay ningún momento de mi vida en que la escucharía. A mi me conecta con el universo la belleza de la canción de Marco Mengoni, que me apetece escucharla en cualquier momento. El año pasado con Secreto de agua era una de mis favoritas porque esa sí que es una belleza de canción, mágica, pero esta no.
Pues lo tienes muy fácil. Cuando le toque el turno a España te vas al baño o a hacerte un cafecito y luego vuelves , y al momento de las votaciones votas por Italia. Mientras tanto, los españoles y no españoles que amamos el arte de la voz, canción y espectaculo que ofrece este año Blanca Paloma estaremos pegados a la pantalla disfrutando con ella.

@@Alexander-jn3ek casualmente la mayoría de los que odiaban la canción cuando salió (o sea, el 99,9% de los que la escuchamos en diciembre), se subieron a su carro cuando vieron que era la preferida del jurado en las semifinales y ya sabían que era la que iba a ganar y también casualmente les hacía más felices que Agoney no fuese, que la canción elegida que nunca les gustó. Yo no soy chaquetera, si una canción no me gusta desde el primer momento no me gusta, y nada cambia eso.
