In today's video, I give you my most important tip to Never Miss Free Throws! These simple basketball shooting tips are super easy to implement for players at every level. By implementing these shooting tips into your game you can almost immediately skyrocket your shooting percentage!
My first tip is to make sure you are finding the rim as early as possible in your free throw routine! If we look at the best shooters in the NBA think of guys like Stephen Curry, and James Harden. Both are great free throw shooters and just happen to be two of the best scorers in the league. If you breakdown their shooting routine at the line they both keep it simple and target the rim early in the process. By doing so it gives them the best possible chance to make a high percentage of the free throws which is why they rarely miss at the line!
My second tip when it comes to shooting free throws is to condense your routine. If you do to much at the line it can negatively affect your shot keep it short and sweet. Lastly stay calm and focus on knocking down the shot.

Some people say I'm one of the best shooters in my year but I've always been a average freethrow shooter. I always looked at the basket last second as I was bringing the ball up. Now I'll look up at the basket once I pause for a second just before I shoot. Thanks Collin!

Why does the ball tend to go backwards when people shoot even if it’s one motion? For example if someone’s set point was at there not it would go backwards and towards their nose. Yours and all professional players I see do this. Thoughts?
Coach, I have this little issue with my hand that I wanted someone's opinion on. it's most comfortable for me to hold the ball in between the on-top and on-side positions. but when I go to shoot, I have a hard time keeping my hand flat and under the ball (I simply cannot do it) and although I am a middle finger shooter( I watched videos of myself shooting the ball and it always comes off my middle finger) my index finger always ends up on the middle of the ball at my set point but I will end up releasing with my middle finger. What can I do?

Hi coach, I can shoot using split finger and middle finger what should I use and master?
Watch Delle Donne and Larry Bird. They raise the ball to eye-level and steady there, taking aim, before going. They don't start their shots with the ball at wait or chest height. Steve Nash does, but he repeats his pattern so perfectly it doesn't seem to matter much. It's the 50-40-90 club!
Also another issue is you said to have you middle finger bent down while the others are just a bit up. When I shoot the ball my middle finger keeps touching my thumb after me shoot it and I'm not sure what to do

I’ve been trying to figure out what finger release i should have. Both middle finger and split work but since I don’t know what to use my shot gets inconsistent. I usually load the ball by my right quad since I’m right handed. I have a straight shot line starts from quad up to my right eye etc. I’ve had a tough time with this for a while and i feel that my shot is not progressing because of it. What should I use? When you release make sure it comes off your middle finger. Your middle finger should always be pointing down when you flick. It’s ok if it comes off your pointer finger sometimes but you want to get in the habit of using your middle finger to flick the ball and make it consistent
