I heard about the sling almost 2- 3 years ago when I got my 12.9 tablet. For those interested, there are less expensive versions. But more importantly, be aware that when you’re not using the pencil, and you have the tablet cover folded over, it’ll create a sandwich bump. Possibly making it feel awkward to hold. If you have the sling hooked to the cover flap, the subtle thickness of the sling will remain in contact with your tablet’s screen. You could always test it by simply taping your pencil to your cover to get a feel for it.
After seeing him put it on and folding the magic keyboard shut there clearly wasnt a visual problem.
I used to use a sling mainly because I use pencil grips (or a sleeve) that don't fit into pencil holders built into those cases with one. There are also adhesive pencil "pocket" holders that do the same thing but without slingin' it. They just stick to the case where you want em. I did mine closer to the edge so that when the case was opened and in landscape it would give a slight viewing/drawing angle.
I can buy some elastic and some fabric and make it myself for a couple dollars. This is great because it shows how it goes on.

I’m sure the sling is tight enough... but for the price of the Apple Pencil itself, I just wish the sling had a flap over the top with a velcro snap as an extra precaution. Just saying I can’t afford to lose it. I’m poor yo 😂

I bought the magic keyboard already for my iPad and I love the feel of the keys. Overall its a great low-profile keyboard-case from Apple, but it's like they didn't even think about how easy the pencil comes off. I thought about getting a sturdy case with a pencil holder, and just switching between the two when I want the keyboard. This sling seems like a decent alternative to that, and I get to keep using this nice keyboard without having to switch.
I’m sure it’s easy to sew one out. You could even get it for 4$. All you’ll need is an elastic band some nylon (and a Velcro to secure the pen)

I just like using the cover buddy along with the MK. I have a silicon sleeve on my Apple Pencil, so when I fit it into the compartment, it’s nice and snug as the sleeve gives it more grip in there.

Since you're on the subject of iPad accessories, I'm finding a hard time locating a sling or backpack that allows mobility to hold the iPad up as i walk. I'm an on the go type of person [and I also would find it easier to play Pokémon Go while walking 😁🤣]. Any suggestions or reviews? The only thing I've come across was the iBackflip Somersault ... for much older and smaller iPads. [I have a 12.9 4th Gen]

It's gonna thicken inside space between ipad and the case. Unless anyone talks about it from the company I won't buy it.
