UPDATE AS OF OCTOBER 2020: Shortly after this video was uploaded, Gold Rush was finally dismantled and sold. The coaster was sent to ‘Family Park’ a small amusement park in France. It operated there for 4 days until a 63 year old park employee entered a restricted area, was struck and subsequently, tragically killed. The 40 year old roller coaster is yet again ‘standing but not operating’ across the English Channel in France. What an end to the fascinating story of Loudoun Castle and the historic rides it inhabited. I am thinking about recreating this video with deeper research and new updated information. Scotland’s Premier Theme Park’s history should be celebrated and remembered for many years to come.
@@themeparkgosling8897 no worries. I just wanted to let you know your pronunciation is correct and nobody has ever called it Loodoon lol. I went to Loudoun Academy which is a few yards away from the theme park x
@@themeparkgosling8897 yeah I have been to the theme park. I also used to go to the castle before the theme park was built. That was probably quite dangerous as the place was in ruins. People used to use the Loudoun Estate for shooting. I remember finding lots of shattered clay pigeons. Probably lucky I never got shot lol.
It's currently being relocated to Family Park in France and should be opening there later this year. Amazed they can get it working after being standing but not operating for almost 10 years! Update: The ride was open for 4 days before an employee was killed by it. How unfortunate a rollercoaster would be not operational for almost 10 years, finally gets a new lease of life and within a matter of days is closed again!

@@nclmkrr Wow the school really is close to it! Did you get a chance to visit the park before it closed?

Interesting video! I've subscribed!
@2:37 They have this Go Gator coaster at Flamingo Land now. Could be the exact train.
Can you do Former Coasters of Brean Theme Park?
Great suggestion, I’ll look into it.
Loudon was opened by Douglas Codona
I will include this information in the updated video I plan on making.
Last rollercoaster (Gold Rush) has been sold and removed in 2017.
Oh I didn’t know that! According to the roller coaster database the ride is still standing but not operating to this day!
Theme Park Gosling mate the place is abandoned and there’s nothing left

@@Komicklepto Absolutely tragic yet so fascinating. What are the odds? It’s almost as though Loudoun’s rides are doomed...
Emotional
The park opened in 1995
