Found the shifting problem with my Z50 purchase

I found the problem why this z50 engine was disassembled. The lever/stopper/detent arm is cracked and bent, which caused grinding on the primary gear. I imagine that is was also popping out of gear.

This is a great vid man. I now see I have my kick start spring on wrong. I just tore down an 02 xr50 and its really bn a pain. Replaced the 3 speed that was blown up with a 4 speed and its been anything but cooperative. But its getting there. And i think my shifter little helper arm is tweaked or something. After assembling the trans just trying to shift it will occasionally jam. Working out the kinks. Its also dry and not bolted together(the engine casings) so I'm thinking assemble lube up and see how it acts. Ill be happy if it'll just shift for me.

I know this is an old video. I recently bought a zontes tiger 50. It rides fine except when I put it in second gear it makes a weird clicking sound and jerks the bike really hard. Any suggestions as to what the issue is??

my 50 wont shift and when i adjust the clutch all the way in it starts to shift but really hard to do you think i need a new clutch please reply thanks!

Need info on my crf50f won’t shift into gear. But starts in neutral. Stuck in neutral. No one has a video. Is it the same? The detent arm?

Common problem is star plate on LH side gets loose. Check that.

I have an odd situation. Working on a c70 clone, 20 years old. All shifts are down, N-1-2-3-4-N, keep pressing down 1-2-3-4-N. That’s not right. Right?

It should engage the clutch, but not go into N.

Check the shift drum bolt on left side of motor.

Possibly weak spring on the roller arm
