I think the main culprit is younger people playing a game that is meant for an 18+ audience. The reason a game gets an 18+ rating is, yes, because the game contains blood and violence but also because these games are addictive. If younger people (whose brains aren't fully developed), get addicted to these games, the people who obeyed the age rating suffer as a result. The lobbies get more octane-fuelled and sweatier. I guarantee BO6, and possibly, any other shooter, would become a more enjoyable experience if only adults with full time jobs played them in their spare time 🤷♂️. Just my two cents.
Wow! I never really thought about it that way. I know developers sometimes bring in specialists to design addictive systems, but I hadn’t considered that the 18+ rating could also tie into that aspect. And you’re absolutely right-it would be so much more enjoyable if we could just play casually. But it feels like that’s not what they want anymore. I guess it’s all about maximizing profits, but the way they’ve done it feels incredibly player-unfriendly.
Brilliant analysis! You are quickly becoming one of my favorite gaming content creators, and your opinions have valuable implications for societal shifts as a whole. Excellent work and don't stop doing what you are doing.
I really appreciate your opinion on my content. Am just thinking about what content I can upload soon. Theres so much to choose from. Atm I am trying everything to avoid SBMM lobbies, by not using a VPN or 2Boxing. I am joining random servers around the world. If I get this to work without the game kicking me out every single time, I might do a video on it - and I already found interesting information already on matchmaking. Stay tuned and thanks again :)
Good video, made me rethink how I was hooked onto valorant comp for so many years, with no valuable outcome (same feeling as when doomscrolling reels or tiktok)
Do you guys think modern gaming is starting to feel more like TikTok? Have you noticed how repetitive and addictive it’s becoming? I want to hear your thoughts-are games losing their spark, or is this just the future of gaming? Drop your comments below and let’s talk about it!
iIt's akin to biohacking, where the flashy animations and vibrant colors, coupled with rapid movement and short-term gratification, can deplete dopamine levels. Dopamine is essential for basic life functions and happiness.
@@ruwas369 That makes total sense. When I think about older games that weren’t oversaturated, titles like MW2, Arma 2, Battlefield 3, and CSGO come to mind. Even Fortnite, back in the day, had a more muted style. Now, it feels like every game is filled with overly vibrant colors, flashy effects, and exaggerated sound animations. What’s worse is that you often can’t adjust these settings in-game-I always have to tweak my monitor just to tone it down. It’s frustrating. These design choices feel so short-term-focused, as you mentioned, and they really take away from the experience. People like to say, “You’re just getting older, that’s why you don’t enjoy games anymore.” But I don’t think that’s the case. It’s the way games are designed now-they just don’t serve the same purpose as they used to. As you said, it’s all about short-term appeal now, with no focus on long-term enjoyment. Looks like I’ll have to stick to indie games-hopefully, they’ll take over the industry one day. It’s encouraging to see more people waking up to this. What’s really interesting to me is how adults who played COD back in the day, like me, tend to hate the new releases, while younger players seem to love them. The way these games are designed now, they mainly cater to people who get hooked and stay in the loop. If you don’t question what you’re playing and how the algorithms manipulate you, you’re stuck in that cycle. But the moment you start questioning the garbage we’re being served, you begin to see just how bad it’s become.
Exactly! Not every topic needs to be stretched out for hours. Sure, I could talk at length, but sometimes a topic can be covered in just a few minutes. I prefer to keep it focused: introduce the topic, share my perspective, think critically about it, and invite others to share their thoughts. That’s it-short and to the point! :)
@@mikeyknight292 I got a text chat ban just for saying 'you suck ahh.' Like seriously? It wasn’t even aggressive, just a basic comment, and bam-banned. It’s wild how sensitive people have become these days. To be clear, I’m 100% against racism or discrimination-that stuff has no place anywhere-but we’ve reached a point where no one can say anything anymore. I got my first text chat warning on Nuketown 24/7 for saying, 'the game sucks bad!' Instant warning. It’s honestly ridiculous and hilarious at the same time.
Ngl, sometimes I play one game and log off. If I happen to drop a 3+ k/d game I feel like I beat the game that day and satisfied enough to quit. Knowing SBMM is likely to ruin the rest of the session lol
I miss it. The authenticity.. the real enjoyment. Now its all artificial. It just does not feel right anymore. And I would give anything, to get back that feeling from the gold ol days.
If you don’t make more type of videos like this, bad things will happen, I don’t want to spoil what will happen but here’s a spoiler, “diddy 😈” ( sorry for the brain rot insult buddy 💔😞 )
I feel like your commentary here is thought provoking but it comes from a negative foundation. Alternatively, with a positive foundation, a game is just that. The value in it is up the one playing. Have fun with your friends or dont. Have fun solo or dont.
Thank you for your comment! You’re absolutely right-it does come from a negative foundation. I totally understand your perspective that the key is to enjoy the game on your own terms. That said, my critique comes from personal experience as someone who has been playing games on PC for 18 years, particularly as a Call of Duty veteran. I completely agree that playing with friends enhances the fun, but that’s precisely where I see the issue. If you’re playing solo, the experience often feels punishing, with solo queues repeatedly putting you at a disadvantage. Back in the day, I could hop into a game alone and still have a great time, but it feels like that’s no longer the case. And it is hard to enjoy a game, when you feel the algorithm is working against you. It is more like that you play the game, know it is going to be bad, but still play. Exactly what I said in the video. Behavioral addiction: you compulsively engage in an activity, despite it no longer being enoyable. Thank you again! :)
Good video im definately burnt out from the brainrot

that's not the game its the devs manipulating people and also having AI monitor everything we say so people choose to be quiet

Man i miss the old cod lobbies. Now basically nobody talks anymore, games feel ghostly
I think part of it is because we are getting voice chat banned IN A RATED M GAME.

because the AI bans you over anything you say

we should boycott cod until they make a good game and remove micro transactions and sbmm
Aim assist and woke bs in games is the issue and to many lgbtq blah blah
