If Xenoverse can make new combos for DBS 17, it should be no trouble for Sparking Zero. They can center DBS 17's moveset around barrier techniques, that was his fighting style in ToP. Z 17 fought differently compared to ToP 17. It'll be a wasted opportunity if they're not separate characters.

Regarding the video; I'm sure Z 17 will be playable & he & DBS 17 will be separate unless they give us the option to select more than one Android 17 within 17's icon itself. Meanwhile I'm just sitting here wondering if we're going to get GT 17 &/or Hellfighter 17. 🤔

I’m hoping for it just being a team ultimate, since that would open up another spot on the roster, and since getting team ultimates would be awesome. Idk how likely that is though, since the speed vs strength scan indicated that Jeice and Burter’s ultimates both summon the other, which makes it sound like “summoning another character for an ultimate” is just going to be a thing for this game.
If yall played bt3 yall would know 17 ultimate was him with 18. Same with jeice and burter. It’s no different for this game. 17 z and super are different

@@Gfromda23 and Street Fighter 6 is a direct sequel to Street Fighter 5, but those games are very different. All that said, I’m NOT expecting the 17s to be the same character, and I’m NOT expecting the attack with 18 to be a team super. I do believe they’ll be different characters, with Z 17 having a super that summons 18, and Super 17 having a super by himself. I just personally think that it’d be an improvement if they didn’t do that.
If they do BT5, I hope they they bring this back from RB2. I never liked characters just showing up for cinematic attack. lol

I remember people saying that there was ONLY going to be DBS Future Trunks with the Sword and not the Z version. Even some claiming that DBS Future Trunks was the costume. Then this trailer comes out to heavily disprove that. I imagine its the same for Android 17 (Z) & (DBS). Especially since both versions fight very differently from each other, or at the very least have distinguishing move sets to set them apart from each other. This is what I believe to be the case so far.

The line during the Sadistic dance scene sounds like a story line "Hm not what I was hoping for, lets have some fun" it sounds similar to the anime when Gohan knocked them into the rubble during their fight.

Inb4 we get Android 17 (Z) and Android 17 (GT) and Super Android 17, making it 4 types of 17s because why not
I have a feeling we might get an 'Artificial Beings' type trailer, one focused on the androids, since we have 5 in Z (Cell having 3-4 forms makes it 7 or 8), then Super 17 from GT AND 17 from Super, Android 8.
There are virtually 3 versions of GT 17
The only GT 17 that would be a different character is Super 17. Hell Fighter 17 is the exact same as Future 17 in Trunks' timeline. The original GT 17 is the same as Z, just with a jacket.
We don't even know if this game will include gt yet lol. There's been no indication that it will so far

Most likely, either completely DLC or just focus on the more important GT characters as base and include more for DLC.

Im 100% positive 17 will have two versions. The character deserves it and besides, Z and Super had very differente demeanors, Z was a more villanesque character while Super was a very calmed and chilled character. Besides, they both have enough different attacks to fill both iterations.
Meanwhile 18 only needs a skin for her Super iteration. She just didin´t display enough different techniques for her to have a whole new character, sadly.

Only reason for 17 having two slots on the roster is if one is Super 17 from gt. If they add him as the 2nd 17 cool. If not then he should be one slot with 3 different skins

Not sure if it was intentional but the timing of the Tenkaichi 3 beat drop and 18 and 17 ult was chefs kiss 5:41
This is 18's ultimate in Raging Blast 2, 17 has another ultimate in Raging Blast 2, and if we have both on the team we can do a joint ultimate, if we do it with 18 this ultimate comes out that came out in the trailer and if we do it with 17 another final set comes out, therefore what was shown was 18 not 17 so it makes sense that they don't show it yet

@@Gfromda23 The fact that it is a reboot of the BT3 saga does not mean that they do not use things from Raging Blast, in fact they already did it with that of diverting powers, it was also the most similar game to BT in all this time and practically I think Spike did it too did.

personally from what I understood when the sky is dark is that an ultimate attack is launched, the ultimate attack of Android 17 (super) we saw it, that of Android 18 (z) we saw, so for me in the trailer we see the ultimate attack of Android 17 (z) which is similar to the ultimate attack of this character in Budokai Tenkaichi 3, but I don't know why they didn't put it in the trailer roster I didn't understand but I'm sure there will be an Android 17 (super) and (z) otherwise they wouldn't specify a (super) next to Android 17.

They had move customization in the RB series and are taking aspects from it, though even if I want them to, they probably are not going to have it here.
Besides, certain variants would match well. I don't see DBS 17 doing Sadistic Dance if they were 1 character and just skins.

My money's on the idea of team supers/ults, hopefully if he is a skin then it's the xenoverse way of doing skins with different super/ults with each skin but same feel on basic animations and combos

im kind of rooting for skin tbh- with characters like future gohan and master roshi havig two slots, im a bit worried how many individual characters we'll actually have at this rate
i also just never really cared for how android 17 seems to get a lot more attention than android 18 these days, itd be nice for them to be even again
not to mention, having android 17 be one slot opens up a slot for android 16 or android 21 or any android or another cell form

I have a feeling that we’re going to be able to choose our own supers which can possibly explain why 17 might have only 1 character slot, kinda like the ninja storm games and how you can change the ultimates between certain characters

I am pretty sure that is gt 17’s ult before he transforms into super 17 and we are getting either a gt themed trailer soon and this would’ve spoiled the surprise OR android themed one and that would again spoil the surprise

I'm on the side that thinks Android 17 and Android # 17 (Super) are two different characters. The distinction between Z, Super, or GT(?), wouldn't be made unless some other variant of the character is/is planned to be playable. Plus there's enough material between the Android Saga and the Tournament of Power for them to have their own individual movesets.

This is the most unlikely theory of them all but this made me hope that they'd add the skill slots from Budokai 3 to Sparking Zero and the reason why he has two ultimates is because you can swap between them.... This is definitely not happening but I'll still hold on to the smallest bit of hope that Budokai will get some love this year too
They have move customization in RB1 and RB2, but you couldn't change the ultimates.
They most likely won't bring that over, but I really want them too.
About the "doesn't fit the theme" arguments,even tho it does make sense but at the same time does Jiece really fit in the "Power VS Speed" theme
I mean he is not really known for his Speed nor his strenght he was just there because Burter was there so we really can know why he wasn't confirmed

Focusing only on the ultimate move is the problem, they both clearly have different fighting styles and it makes 0 sense for future 17 to fight like top 17.

What if they just made variants for the characters like in the xenoverse games where, for example, Goku had different variants that had other moves and another costumes than the goku's base variant. So Android 17 just might have another variant with the Z costume and moves

Both Burter and Jeice's ults in BT3 were Purple Comet Attack with one summoning the other, so most likely they're just getting carried over to Sparking Zero.
What doesn't make sense to me is why they would bother distinguishing 17 as 'Super' from the start while 18 is just 18. They could have just called him Android 17 as a starting point and make changes to accommodate the development later, but noooo...

Yeah, until the site updates, I'm going with Z 17 just being a skin, and that Sadistic Dance is probably just a Raging Blast style Team Ultimate. Only thing holding that back is the fact that it emphasizes on 17 *(SUPER)* like it does with other characters but that might be because they're making 17 a composite character and prioritizing his DBS self like FighterZ did. We shall see.

I still think android 17 is being saved for a theme with trailer with red ribbon army or dr gero's creation trailer cell is confirmed too but has no trailer yet and no gameplay trailer yet or showcase of his other forms.
The reason why people say 17 and 18 were not the focus is because they get no name introduction. They are the only in the trailer that do not get introduced due to not being master and student.

I think with characters like this. They should be 1 character and you can change around their moveset like in the old game abd raging blast. Saves space and gives customization🤷🏽♂️ you could unlock the moves as you progress in the story.

I think the android 17 we see in the new trailer isn't the playable character, he appears in android 18's supers just like burter and jiece do, and maybe the cutscenes we saw were of android 18. So we need to see more trailers to be sure 17 (Z) is a playable character or not.

Piccolo, Yamcha, and Krillin all got re-revealed in the last trailer, so it's not like 17 can't be re-revealed in a later trailer with Z version, Super version, and 18.

Even if the ultimate is a team attack I still think Android 17 Z could be a different character. In Super he's a lot less sadistic so the evil expression on his face, the one in the thumbnail wouldn't fit with Android 17 Super.
So it could still be a team attack, but the version of Android 17 you pick will determine his facial expressions, and change the expression of Android 18 too since she's changed since Z as well.
