@@wsab398 if both spouses are either active, retired or 100% disabled they can each get 6 tickets. Dependent IDs do not qualify for an additional 6 tickets
Absolutely! Once Disney releases the Salute ticket pricing which usually occurs around November we will make an updated video! Make sure you follow us on social media as we also post updates there as well. Thanks for watching!!
This is the video I needed! Thank you SO much for the great tips. We are going to Disney MLK weekend and this summer. It was overwhelming trying to figure out how to book a Disney vacation with military tickets.
We struggled through learning some of this as it is our first time using it. You put a lot of great info in one place and that helps a lot. Like you said, it is hard to glean the info and put it all together from the web. How does the access to waterparks thing work though? Scenarios?
Thank you so much for the feedback and for watching! You’re absolutely right, there is a learning curve to the salute program so we are so glad this has been helpful! We did cover access to water parks briefly in the video. You can purchase a 4 or 5 day ticket with the park hopper PLUS option for access to the water parks for 4 or 5 days depending on which one your purchase.
This program is for Disney World only. But universal does offer a fantastic discount known as the Freedom Pass! It’s good for a whole year. We plan to release a video on that one here soon. Stayed tuned!
It’s all Disney PhotoPass photos and videos from your trip for one price! The military gets a significant discount that can be purchased at the ticket center only. The military discount is not available online.
If you get the activated tickets at shades of green, does the military member need to be with you every day in the park. My dad doesn’t like to do parks every day because he’s disabled so wondering if we could go with our tickets if he wants a hotel day.
In our experience, yes, you can go to the parks without your dad once the tickets are activated. We have purchased our tickets for friends and they have been able to visit the parks by themselves with no issues.
This helped me! But, I still don’t know what the genie is for, is that something that helps you get through lines faster? The hopper plus is for everything with the water park? If they get rid of the reservation system, you won’t have to worry about selecting the days you can go to the park, right? Ugh, I’m so bad at this 🤣. Does shades of green apply sales tax?
Genie is a little tricky, just genie is free and helps you plan out your day and can suggest things that have lower wait times. Genie + does help you "skip the lines" you still go to the Lightning Lane line for the rides you have selected. The hopper plus gets you into all the parks and the water parks, allowing you to "park hop" after 2. Similar to Universals park to park ticket. Yes you will still need reservations to the first park of the day (unless that changes) but can go to any park after that. Shades does not apply sales tax and they can sell tickets over the phone as well.
Great question! If you would like a one day ticket there are the Magic Your Way tickets which are also known as a regular military discounted tickets. These can be purchased at your Base ticket office or Shades of Green. The discount for these are anywhere from 4-8% off the full price and can be purchased anytime. Unfortunately the Salute tickets, that we are covering in this video are not offered at the one day option. Thanks for watching!
Thanks, Lol I heard that when I was editing and chuckled to myself. Be sure to check out the updates for 2023 here. ua-cam.com/video/caZNcSJR5RE/v-deo.html -Lee
Thanks for your question! Did you buy your ticket at Shades of Green or your base office? If you purchased through your base office, you will still need to visit guest relations. This is because Disney needs to verify your military ID and then they will activate your ticket. If you purchased at Shades of Green, you’re good to go! No need to visit guest relations.
Just a friendly heads up. Make sure to pronounce Corps as "CORE" like marine "core". People get touchy with the sound of "corpse". Thanks for the great video.
Thank you for this! We are going in September and have friends coming but their tickets will already be activated and didn’t want to have them waiting for us to get our tickets activated. I have a question though, when you have 4 day hopper ticket, do you have to make a reservation for every day you plan on using the ticket or just one initial reservation?
Yes you do need to make a reservation for any day that you plan to use your ticket. So for a 4 day park hopper, you will need to make 4 park day reservations. It can be at the same park or different parks and they don’t have to be consecutive. If you have any other questions feel free to email us or send a DM on our instagram. 😃😃 Thank you so much for watching and for the feedback!
Lol blame that one on Lara, she’s the spouse and not in the service, I’m sure she’ll see this comment and feel embarrassed! Thanks for that clarification 🤣
Is it $349 per ticket? Or $349 covers for the 6 tickets? Also, is it just one person that needs proof of military ID? Or does everyone involved need to show some relation to the military?
Hi! Quick question, I have purchased 4 tickets because I am a military spouse. when you go to guest services at Disney springs the day before to activate tickets, can you activate all tickets for each family member without them being present and do you have to activate tickets at each park?
Also, our tickets were purchased at the MWR. My husband purchased them with his military ID. At the top of the confirmation paper it says “Your Tickets are activated” does this mean I won’t have to visit guest relations or do I still need to?
Hi Katelyn! In our experience in the past, everyone had to be present when the tickets were activated, however….our last trip to Disney (this last August), we visited guest services at Disney Springs and they activated all tickets without everyone present. So, it would appear, Disney may not be requiring all members to be present anymore. Also you can activate them at the park but out advice is to do it the day before if you can at Disney Springs. It was super quick for us!
Great question, there are lot more levels as to who can be eligible and our video goes over the basics! Therefore the answer to your question is “it depends.” 😃 The program is not available for veterans unless you are currently active, retired or 100% disabled. However, there are other discounts available to you depending on how you were separated, please feel free to email us or DM on our instagram for more info (see our bio) and we can see if we can figure out what you qualify for! Thanks for watching!
Appreciate the feedback! We actually do have a video in the works for Disneyland. We just recently traveled there where we used the Salute program tickets as well and we wanted to give our viewers an accurate overview of how to use the program now that we have experienced it first hand. 😃
Clarification: the video says 6 tickets per military member not per ID. If both spouses meet qualifications, then each would get 6.
how do you know if both qualify?
@@wsab398 if both spouses are either active, retired or 100% disabled they can each get 6 tickets. Dependent IDs do not qualify for an additional 6 tickets
Does one 4 day ticket count as 4 tickets out of the 6 allotted? Or can you buy 6 four day tickets?
@@nickapodaca7888 One 4 day ticket counts as one ticket. Yes you can buy (6) 4 day tickets.
I had no idea how much was involved with this. This video just made my life a lot easier in planning our trip! Thank you! 👏👏

Great video! Thank you for the information!
Just got hired at Disneyland and I’m in the Army Guard really excited about the services that Disney offers.

Where is guest services located in Disney springs?
In Town Center near the Welcome center and D’Luxe Burger.

Correct. Tix from shades of green are pre activated so service member does not need to be with others to enter the parks
Awesome video! If you get tickets shipped from the base does the person who is eligible has to be with you at Disney for activation?
Yes, that is correct! The eligible service member must be present for activation.
Is 350 ticket per person for 5 days or per 6 people for 5 days
Thanks for asking. The 2022 Salute ticket price is $349, one ticket (per person) for 5 days. 2023 Salute ticket prices have not been released yet.

It is! Retired military!
Is it $349 per ticket? Or $349 covers for the 6 tickets? Also, is it just one person that needs proof of military ID? Or does everyone involved need to show some relation to the military?
