I've watched tons of videos on keyword search and so far, your video is the only one that suggested a unique way! I'm definitely going to try this, and will watch your other videos, so I've just subscribed!
Wow Kara, I can't wait to try this. I can't afford another expense right now like marmalade, so maybe this technique will help me get my views up a bit. Can we now hide this video (just kidding)
I really love your videos, you explain things very well and I never feel like I'm being sold the (if you really want to know what I said this video would teach you buy my) speech. Thanks for all your help!
Good one!! I see I am not spending enough time figuring out my keywords - often sit there and can’t think of any more. I don’t know difference between a short tail and long tail. Thank you, Kara!
Hello, thank you for your valuable information. I've watched hundreds of videos on UA-cam and tiktok videos learning how to use Etsy effectively to be successful for a month now. It has been exhausting and overwhelming but after watching your videos, I'm ready to go at it and open my shop with ease. I've been binge watching all of your videos. They are extremely helpful and the best channel I've found that's straight forward without trying to sell something to get the best of the necessary info. I have a few questions below When creating the title, do I put a comma after each keyword? I'm using an account I created in 2011 that I never opened a store with but I used to purchase from other Etsy sellers. I changed the name and email address to my new shop name. Is it safe to use this account? I'm sure it will be successful because I'm prepared to do the work to make sure it's a success.
You can use your old account, and just write your titles like normal sentences that tell what the thing is. Don't just put a list of keywords, that's not good for customers or the search engine. And thanks for watching!
@@KaraBuntin Ok. Great. I’m sure after watching all of your videos, I’ll have success with my shop. I’ll check in with my results when I get my first sale 🙂 I decided to sell on Etsy because of the handmade item I created, I’ve already sold 100+ in a Facebook group. This is the next step to other eyes on it before I create a website.
Thank you for this. How would I be doing this in eRank ? And how long would I give a listing to see if the updated keywords/tags are a success ? I've heard everything from a few hours to half a year...
I don’t use erank, i only recommend Marmalead. I would give it a couple of months if you’re getting traffic at all, but there’s no rule about that that works for everyone.
I struggle with longtail keywords and it's 20 character limit. Most of my fragrances are longer words so the most I can get is a 2 word phrase. That said, I've had good sales on listings with one sentence descriptions and 3 keywords out of the 13, while other fully filled listings get no love lol.
Good video 👍 when you said low competition keywords, could they be low comp because there is no search volume? How do we know if those keywords are even being searched for ? Do you use google for that part ?
I use Marmalead for that part, but if you know that the main part of the keyword does get searched, then you can assume that variations on it also do have some traffic.
Hello Kara, I used to watch a lot of your keyword research videos and I wanted to know if going for 1000-2000 competition keywords is worth when creating a NEW Etsy shop. As always good content so I leave my like.
Hi when putting your high medium and low words for seo such as in your title ..do they have to go in order such as low medium high? Or do they all have to be low competition because I am pretty new to Etsy. thanks so much in advance. Donna
They're red green and yellow like stop lights. There's no connection between the levels that I chose and Marmalead, the colors are just to give you a quick visual.
I have an older Etsy store and a New Store, Due to Supply shortages, I am going to have to close my older store. Or would I be better off closing my new store and transferring all my new items over to the old store as it has a much better ranking. Would that be better for my SEO and traffic? Old store ranks 24,314 New store is ranking at 313,000 or does store ranking matter? Thank you.
Etsy doesn’t hand out store rankings so that figure is probably meaningless…But if the older ship has more sales, it would make sense to switch things there.
@@sweetbeep I've tested all of the research tools because they're always writing to me to try to get me to promote them on this channel. I usually put all three of my shops into them to see if the data they spit out is accurate, and it never is. And it's off by A LOT. Marmalead is the most accurate one that I've used.
I have noticed a few things that lead me to believe that I win high competition keywords mainly when a customer has already favorited or purchased one of my pieces. I’m not sure if there’s anyway to take advantage of this.
I don't know, the low-mid-high is kind of random for everyone, because some people's shop can compete for harder keywords. If your shop is new you should go for the low competition and set the ranges lower.
How important is search volume? I found a few long tail keywords with only a couple hundred search results and several best sellers but using Etsy tools the search volume is very low
Since listings are found for more than one keyword, and since all of the tools that estimate traffic are low when the search volume is on the lower side, I would jump on that keyword like crazy. You'll get more searches than the tools say, and there will be related searches that it's also found for.

I mean could it allow me to do keyword research automatically? and still regarding the keywords I wanted to know if the keywords for etsy are the same as for Google, Facebook, Amazon...
@@cgc2300 I don't use Ai for keyword research at all, but some people do. I think it's better to use your brain because keywords are just words, but it gets tricky when you look at how long tail keywords work. A tool can tell you that "Gift for a chicken coop owner" is a bad keyword to use because the search is low, but if you use your brain and see that there's also "chicken coop owner gift," "gift for owner of a chicken coop," "Chicken owner gift for coop" as things that people search for, they all add up. AI only looks at the most likely next word based on what it's been trained on, so this is one situation where you don't want to be lazy about it. Keywords are just words, like I said, but you have to think about why people search on different platforms because that will change the things they type in. I use similar keywords across different platforms, so things that work in one place will likely work in other places, but when I do Google keyword research I don't go to etsy to look for that, I go to Google.
