Regarding the ‘advertising’, there’s been lots of bad press regarding product reviews on UA-cam (and some of it justified), however in this case full disclosure at the start made everything clear and the link provided offered the chance of a free gift to those who used it. Not a problem IMHO.

Agreed, I have no problem if the person is honest about the review being paid for by the manufacturer. There seems to be a group of people who think You Tubers should be happy amateurs, but still provide regular content, using high quality equipment, however they probably have no problem watching their favourite programs on the TV with highly paid presenters and production crews and facilities, and if its the BBC they don't even have to stand or fall by the revenue they can generate.

I can’t see a problem with sponsored videos. You were very clear about it at the beginning. Respect Sir, for standing up for your principles and refusing to be directed to say this or that by contract.
They submitted the product for your review, they can hardly expect you to say it’s good, if it’s not as good as advertised.

this...and no clickbait. I saw the title of the video and immediately knew it wasn't my cup of tea. As long as it's clear and identified as advertisement, it's fair game. Channel owners also have bills to pay, I respect that especially when said creators are also respectful to their viwership

Nice to hear that your favourite bike is the old GS. Just a proper bike with the right things you really need when you are on the roads. No apps and electronics that doesn’t work when you need them, No quickshifter, just a clonk when you shift gear, not +150 bhp etc.etc. For us who’s been in the saddle for a long time, (myself 50 years) this is what motorcycling is all about. When I want to go comfy I take the car.

Could not agree more. Just went from 900gs back to 800gs. I believe new bmw bikes are too much money, too much unnecessary things on it. Too much posh. I dont need it. Its like having newest iphone. You can perfectly live with few years old one and couldnt make a difference.

People criticising content around advertising clearly don't realise that UA-camrs do need to have an income and that their time isn't free. It's bizarre to me that anyone would not understand this but there you go...

A different side of the coin...
!st, I like Flyer, I've been tuning in to him for a very long time. Not all his videos but quite a few. He is a great guy.
2nd, Why does UA-cam have to be a "Job" for people? It used to be that people just used the ad revenue to update their camera and computer gear, not make a living, It reminds me of the Uber/Lyft people, that started out as a way of extra income but then they bastardized it demanding unreasonable benefits. Thankfully taxis still exist.
So, if they are trying to use this social platform as a form of income then they should to cater to their consumers.
I Pay for a Premium UA-cam membership. So, that puts me at a different level than someone that doesn't pay to watch content. These manufacturers have found a way around the premium membership with these embedded commercials.
So, as a paying customer I feel that I'm within my right to ask a content creator to put the ads at the end of their program or at least put time stamps so I can quickly zip past their ads.
If thery don't then I exercise my other perogative of not watching their content. Which is what I've done with quite a few channels.
Flyer announced that his video (which I didn't watch) was an advertisement at the get go. I also didn't watch RyanF9's video which was an ad for insta.

I live close to Cairngorms national park and try to ride all year round. Problem is it’s a tad cold so heated grips and seat make it all possible. Doesn’t make any difference to the crap road surfaces but it helps.

The small roads without white lines are mostly ‘U’ graded roads, referred to colloquially as lanes (the French call theirs ‘ les chemins’). In many cases these roads are hundreds or thousands of years old having been used since before the bronze age, but many laid by the Romans (the straighter ones). Most have been paved of course. But many remain as dirt tracks and can be enjoyed as ‘green lanes’ and are enjoyable for off roading. ‘B’ roads may have similar history but are now double width and lined, usually the most paved fun, ‘A’ roads being the heavy lifting roads before motorways/highways

Im 60 years old, I do not believe it myself, where have all the years gone. I lived yes. Well back to ailments, last year in January I had a shoulder issue, damn it was painful night without sleep. Then I went to Osteopath and started doing Pilates. All of this helps, still have some pain on some days, but can ride. In January 2024 we were at the Penguins in Valladolid, on one tour I was not even able to ride my bike, so much pain. But as I said Pilates and Osteopath have helped.

Totally random comment. But seeing your list of topics taped to the tank reminded me of the time about 25 years ago when I used Blu Tack to stick the directions on the tank of my Ducati SS750 (not a very bright idea, I know). My wife was driving down to Cornwall with the kids and I was taking the bike down so we could do some 2-wheeled trips whilst there. Of course the directions blew off after a few miles at around Beaconsfield on the M40 with nearly 290 miles to go to St Ives. No SatNav or mobile phones back then. I got lost several times and arrived very late in the dark to an extremely unsympathetic other-half. I've not really used Blu Tack for anything else since. It was a good ride though - I enjoyed every minute of it.

Ref your shoulder…and thinking outside the box. My wife suffered from shoulder pain for a couple of years. Drs diagnosed frozen shoulder due to using a walking stick, or lying on it and gave injections, etc. Nothing worked. However, not sure if you know, but you can get referred pain in the shoulder, similar to frozen shoulder pain, due to issues in the area of your diaphragm. They eventually found “stuff” in her abdomen pressing up on her diaphragm and removed it. Miracle and instant cure for her shoulder pain! Just a thought? Of course, if you have had damage confirmed by MRI’s of your shoulder then ignore the above. A quick heads up, shoulder ops are “quite” painful due to the numerous neves in the shoulder and tend to take a while to recover after an operation. Good luck. 🤞🏻

You got a very natural way with you when you’re talking to us all or at least the camera…. And you’ve got a really nice easy voice to listen to…. Always interesting and always keeps my attention….. I really appreciate your content and your views and okay some people have different views. That’s just the way it is but I enjoy you…. Looking forward to the future content and yes, who should you get on for an interview?… Nathan the postman, tomboy a bit, Darcy and the old man, that biker Simon, of course Freddie…. maybe ultimately itchy boots and got2go…. Looking forward to more of your content, mate.

Hi Andy. Sorry to hear about the shoulder, hope you get it sorted eventually. Enjoyed this vlog update and general natter, looking forward to the NEC show next month. I’m interested to see what changes are planned for the CF Moto 450MT and Himalayan 450 for 2025, and looking forward to seeing the brand new KTM 390 Adventure and Enduro R. Another bike I’ve had my eye on is the Kove 800X, supposedly better than the Yamaha T7. Enjoyed the first two episodes of the bike tour, I did a trip to France myself back in August with Nathan Millward, staying not too far from Castellane. As for guests, it would be great to see a conversation with Nathan on your channel, and I think you should have myself as well, I love a good natter about all things bikes and what’s happening in the motorcycling community (only a small channel, not posted for quite a while, feeling inspired to restart again about my W800, bike building project, and travels). Go on, it might be good to feature a new person, like an unknown actor in their first screen role! 😂 All the best, Richard from Cornwall!

Andy, please don't apologise - you're always upfront and give unbiased reviews, and produce a good video. I've always been drawn to the character of BMW's (but only got as far as the cars so far, still got plenty of time - I'm only 61 :) ), and been thinking of a GS or R nine t's, also the V85TT has a lot of character - just about to watch your video from about 5 years ago. I know you said your 1200GS is a keeper, but wondered if you ever thought about upgrading it for a 1250GSA - or do you think it's not really worth the expense. Keep up the good work, and best of luck with the shoulder - seems to be a bit of a pain (no pun intended) 👍

30 000 miles is barely broken in, as BMW boxers are made to make 120 000 miles. So you are good for the next 30 years (bikewise that is). I have a XR with over 50 000 in 4 years and last year I bought a 2009 K1300GT with 15 000 miles on the clock (payed 7000 for it with 1 year dealer warranty) , to use as a winter bike. Put an extra 6000 in a year. BMW's are mostly traded in because the owner grew tired of them and want something new.

The standard new one in green looks really good but what were they thinking with the Adventure? Awful. I'll stick with my ST1100 for touring! Think I'll spend the 20K savings on a Triumph next year. Ethanol does harm plastics. I do tend to recommission old(er) bikes and leakages in the fuel system are quite common. Usually because the bike was parked for some time with E95 in the system. I would assume your GS is too young to have problems with it. Later plastics are better with ethanol. I no longer take risks and use E98 in all my vehicles... All the best with your shoulder.

Another very decent video! I know what you mean about riding the lanes, I live very close to Holmfirth and I have recently re-discovered all the lanes around there that are on my doorstep. I've been trying to build my channel here on UA-cam (NOT easy!) and been posting pretty regular(ish) videos of my Yamaha Tracer. Recently though I bought a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and experienced a surge in subscribers, people obviously love the Royal Enfields. I'm not talking maasive viewing numbers or subs, but a lot more than I expected!
Keep bringing the videos, keep on with the banter, and do the advert stuff if you need to, after all it's your channel and viewers don't HAVE to watch do they.

Have both a 1200 and 1250, both brilliant bikes for your budget. The 1250 only just pips the 1200, gearbox not as clunky, and just smoother. For the dollars/pounds the 1200 is fantastic price for what you get. Great for single sporty fun and 2 up tours.
for others, Chigee nav is not great in Oz due lots of limited ph reception in rural areas. Nav 5/6 works better, uses direct satelite.
Thanks for your YT efforts, I appreciate it on numerous fronts. Also add, I don't have the skills to YT, but bike experience much of.
