Ahhhhh......the Provence region. Toured in late June '24 (Banon, Manosque & Valensole). The lavender fields were in bloom. Spectacular. obtw the Gorges du Verdon & the numerous "balcony" roads in Francia are just incredible 🏍️✌🏼🏍️
'24 r1250 gsa. There's just too many lakes, waterfalls & vineyards just 5km - 10km off the tarmac that must be explored. Ride safe 🏍️✌🏼🏍️@@TheMissendenFlyer
You two spark very well…. Measuring a bathroom by the cat method, then a check tap to bring you back under control…. You pair have been married quite some time and the fun is still there….. !
It's a great feeling riding a big ole cruiser through the French twisties, thinking you're pushing quite hard until you realise you're slowing the progress of Aunt Monique in her 10 year old Clio behind you. Happens every time. Loving the series guys, looking forward to next Saturday.
Thanks for the great show, love it 🙏🏼 Fun fact : Napoleon ordered the lining of roads with Plane trees (and other tall trees like Ash, Elms and Chestnuts) to provide ample shade for his marching troops. 🌳🌳🌳
Almost missed the outtakes at the end and happy to see that Mr Flyer, just like me, has a little bit of OCD vis a vis the beer glass. Another great dose of summer fun. Many thanks.
Nice to watch on a cool damp blighty morning. Love France although south obviously can get hectic . Yes the road work lights countdown is great for relieving impatience 👍👍
Lovely to see the gorgeous sunshine and brilliant vista's. Thought I was watching a Freddie Dobbs video with the city visit. As far as packing, we use pannier inner bags that you just grab and carry into the hotel but I guess everyone does whatever they find easiest. Thanks for taking us along.
Yes nice to see a bit of sunshine on a wet Saturday morning isn’t Richard! The ‘Wing has odd shaped panniers so we tend to fill every nook and cranny….
Morning Andy, you need to get Freddie Dobbs to book your accommodation, he always seem to get amazing places to stay for not much money. I would of thought you'd have shown us all the fountains before moving on 😂
Enjoying the trip so far folks, thanks for sharing it with us.😀👍 . Some trivia for you, aile d’or is French for gold wing ! Pilots who wear the ‘wings of gold’ are considered by many to be the best in the world, so there you go Andy perhaps one who rides the gold wing also qualifies lol 👏😀👍
Another nice tour video, liking the balance between on and off bike footage. Is it normal for hotels to charge motorcycle garage parking in France? My only experience was Italy and Switzerland where I've used underground hotel parking, both charging fees for cars, but they told me it's free for bikes. One tip I've worked out for packing is to have a go-bag separate containing just what I need for the hotel/ferry etc. So it's quick to take off the bike. The rest of the clothes etc stay on the bike. Hopefully the shoulder is better now (seen your recent hospital photo update) and you'll be back to 100% for next year's big rides Thx G
Seems it is normal to charge for parking (at least on this trip) - some were free but underground seemed to always charge. Keeping my fingers crossed on the shoulder front 🤞
The Stop signs in rural France are mainly for traffic calming. That one you mentioned (15:56) was probably because vehicles coming the other way cut the corner so, hopefully, you are travelling slow enough to avoid a collision.
Another lovely insight into your trip, 2 things I learned were, sexy fountain town, and always be nice to Carol or she might not pack your underwear.😀 Good to see Honda have become a channel sponsor. Really hope your op went well and you are on the mend.
Lovely bit of footage, and yes the roads around here are well maintained and usually very nice surfaces for bikes. Am waiting to see if you ride the gorge road itself, and which side you choose, as your footage is always nice. Hope you get a clear day for it. The plane trees along so many main roads were apparently a tradition started by Napoleon because he knew his troops could march further in the shade……and I see you’ll be joining the “route Napoleon” at any moment. We ride mostly on a multi V4s on these sweeping roads, but have a 996 for the warm Sunday blast, a 701 for the tight tarmac, and an FE350 for the dirt.
Some of the bars in Belgium will give you your beer 🍺 for free if it’s served in the wrong glass! Awesome as always and I am now getting my paper maps out and planning next year’s trip!! Still inspiring me! 😁👍
Hi guys, I ve been touring Europe with my old school pal for the last ten years (2 to 3 week trips) we always try & book into the IBIS hotels green/red/blue 8-10 have underground safe parking , if not good well lite cctv parking. I’d guess ave price over the trip €100 per night inc parking & breakfast .
Another great video, thank you. A question, was there ever a time that Mrs Flyer did not want to ride as a pillion and if so, how did you tempt her to ride with you? I ask because I would love for my wife to ride pillion and she will not entertain it. When I first met her in 1972 I had a bike and it was my only mode of transport and we rode everywhere together. After getting married and having children the bike was ditched for a car. Roll on to 2013 when I got a bike again. My wife called me mad and that I was having a midlife crisis for getting it, and no way would she get on the back of it. After 11 years of being back on the bike she still will not ride pillion. She knows like you I am sensible on the bike but will not budge on her views. Any ideas to persuade her otherwise?
I think you just have to let her decide - Carole was dead against me ever having a bike, then dead against going on the back - now look at her! At no point did I suggest she give it a go, she just noticed the fun I was having….think you have to let folk decide for themselves. Feel for ya! Riding together is great fun….
Beautiful Roads drove it while meandering when driving back from Portugal/Spain in the Summer .... found the French didn't want to serve or be hospitable at all to English families, the Spanish and Portuguese were completely the opposite, no closed restaurants when you walk in while others are eating !!! Can see why EU and The Rivalry is worse then ever since the fake departure of Unions as we're all played and payed for by us again as Tax !
You two are hilarious together, typical married couple, contradicting eachother😂.......I love it👍
Glad you enjoyed it David!
Loving the Saturday morning TV ☀️🍻
Glad to hear that Stu!
Makes for a great weekend start 👍👍
Another fab episode of this adventure! Enjoyed watching x
Glad to hear that Hel!
Love these vids Andy you and carol are so funny !!! Keep up the great series 👍
Glad you like them!
Brilliant breakfast with the flyers.

Wing Commander TMF rides again. What a wonderful way to live your life, as a famous Scotsman may say.
No complaints from me!

Great idea that isn’t it…
Very easy viewing music good as well 😊
Thank you!
Loving your latest adventure.🤠
Delighted to hear that….
Wow that road looked amazing . Nice. Keep em coming. Hope you are both well.
Will do and thanks for watching!

You got yourself a good wife and a Goldwing, what more does a man need?😁
Nothing!
@@TheMissendenFlyer Too right. Cheers 🍻

Nice video love the montage and the packing, 1 issue for me I have the poor mans Goldwing with no paniers just a frunk for the underware🤣👍👍
"Poor mans Goldwing"? You mean the NC750?? ...great bike....
👍 Great video
Perfect accompaniment to my bacon sarnie and mug of tea
Glad to hear that!
Enjoying the trip with you both. Now I'm looking at Goldwing's for sale 😅
It’s a fantastic machine if you love two up touring - really fell in love with the bike on this trip - she’s a keeper for sure….
good times
Sure are!
A video to inspire travel. Great views. The gold wing looks the biz for this trip. Would you provide a summary at the end of the video series please?
We certainly will!
The Stop signs in rural France are mainly for traffic calming. That one you mentioned (15:56) was probably because vehicles coming the other way cut the corner so, hopefully, you are travelling slow enough to avoid a collision.
Makes sense!

Cheers David - thanks for watching once again!

That sounds like an excellent rule!
Mate and I stayed at the La Galice Hotel in 2017. Great secure car park. Cours Mirabeau is very stylish and typically French isn’t it!
Lovely ride, I do love your tours, only thing is that 360 distorting the vision, kinda makes you queezy watching it..
Cheers
Sorry about that - it gets better through the tour as I suss out how to use it I promise!
@@TheMissendenFlyer glad to hear it lol.. good tour though, I prefer your tour videos
Very nice, never been to the south.
You should - completely different character to the North….
Music suggestion for the Alps
On Days Like These by Matt Monro we always sing this when we are in any mountains
Love the tour videos
Glad to hear that - sadly I am limited to copyright free music (and evebn the stuff I play on these videos still costs me a licence to use!!)
👍👍

I don’t have a aix to grind, but your pronunciation of French towns and other places is merde ! 😜 Love Castellane . Been going there for years .
Sorry about that!
I see what you did there hahaha cheeky!!
Great video as usual. What is the MPG on your travels this trip ?
I didn't work it out - on a normal touring day a tank a day - on the motorway blats there and back 2/3 tanks a day....
8:54 damn its the road i take everyday to work 😂
14:31 its the CEA , commissariat à l'énergie atomique (nuclear research center)
Nice commute!
Warning! Andy’s shirt may contain flashing images 😅
You can’t have beer in the wrong glass. It doesn’t taste right.
Exactly!
What a sad world we live in when you have to prioritise the safety of your motorcycle 😢
Did you say tea bags in trainers, must make for interesting tea. 🤮
What are you implying about my trainers! 😬

We had no such bad fortune and found the French to be very hospitable (as were everyone else on the trip….).
