It’s easy for me, because I know what I’m doing, and I know how to bend the game to my will now, but for beginners, they’ll definitely need a few heads ups.

@@Nic_2751 It was very minimal. @@jerryalexis576 it is still a remake. Because it was made from the groundup. From the new graphics engine to the sound and character design. There are more changes in Japanese version like you don't take damage when falling off from a high platform and all the ghosts are normal (like the ghost that shoots tranquilizer dart they were replaced the normal ghost) except the ghosts in the spooky island they stay the same.
How ironic that Japan got Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels, the hardest Mario game ever made, and then they get a Pac Man World 2 where it only has an EXREMELY easy mode compared to the other regions which is more difficult but fairly challenging .

Lol, filled bottomless pits, reduced hitpoints for bosses and much easier platforming. Weird how they gave up on editing the game after the rollerskating level though, I remember having a lot more trouble with the game after that. I even took a break from the game as a kid, as I couldn't even figure out how to beat the level! It wasn't until months later that I figured out that you had to hold down a specific button to make Pac-Man run with the roller skates, making him jump further forward! Oh, by the way, how do you think "Pac-Man World 3" holds up compared to the first two? I'm just going by my memory here, but I absolutely hated that Pac-Man would talk and make cringy jokes in the third game. Wasn't a huge fan of the "open world" approach they had to the game either, especially since it involved more switch pressing and backtracking.
Pac-Man World 3 is obviously the worst in the Trilogy. Loved Pac-Man's Voice but Hated the things he would say (like his awful jokes. The environments are dull and boring and the Gameplay isn't exactly compelling either. The Music is absolutely beautiful though. It's not that great of a game imo and definitely doesn't hold up as well as 1 and 2 do.
Because basically, Japanese people have poor reflexes and need an extra easy mode for their game to handle it. It's not like Japan's not the master of platforming gameplay or anything.
A lot of it has to do with how video game rentals were handled back then. In America, it was pretty popular (hell I remember when grocery stores rented out games- that's actually how I first got my hands on this game when I was like six or seven) but in Japan IIRC that was illegal. Therefore, games would be made harder in America so kids couldn't beat them on a weekend rental. Granted, that was more of a thing in the NES era but this game is sort of proof that a similar mentality persisted until the idea of renting games just fizzled out.
The "Pacman World Trilogy" needs a over haul "Remake" because it is flawed. Just flawed and Pacman World 3 isn't a real Pacman World game and needs a huge mega over haul plus more. If it only it could happened though unfortunately never heard again just like "Sour Puss" from Pacman World.
Maybe not a complete overhaul, but the original could especially use some QOL updates. It had the same problem as Crash Bandicoot 1 with the depth perception- nothing that couldn't be fixed. As for World 3, it was originally going to be a lot more interesting (Dig Dug was going to be there as well as some other Namco characters IIRC). I'd gladly take a definitive edition as it could've been a good game- it just got hit hard with development hell plus it got handed over to Blitz partway through.
