- Clara was abandoned, scared, and found refuge under a house. She was fed by a kind woman who suspected she had puppies under her house. When she learned about #HopeForPaws, she called us for help right away.
I headed out to the rescue with Katie McKittrick and Idan Riek, and together, we secured the property that had many ways in and out.
One of the most important tools in our rescue toolbox is the soccer net that helps us enclose large areas, and in this case, Clara, in an attempt to escape from us, got herself entangled.
This sweet pocket Pit Bull was so scared... the look in her eyes was heartbreaking. I approached slowly, secured her, and assured her that everything will be AMAZING!

I am a vet tech/farm girl. I have been rescuing for 60+years. I rescued 2 dachshunds 11 years ago. A mother (DeeDee)13 years old and her daughter (Becky)11years old now. Becky was a diabetic and passed away on the 6th of December. Last Monday l rescued/adopted a 1&1/2 year old chihuahua/terrier mix named Trixie Jean. When you lose one it hurts. You can never replace them . But you can open your heart and home to save another one. I love the poem about death "The Rainbow Bridge. I love to think Becky is running, able to see(she was blind)and free from those awful skeeters ( insulin shots).😅
I also last died on a December 6th. It was in 1905. 🙂
I can understand you well. I have also taken in many animals and each one was unique, a soul like no other. I miss a lot of them, but I also think that of course I have then always a place for a new animal soul that can use my care and love and I can use his too. I am grateful for every little animal that spends my current life story on this planet by my side and makes my life more beautiful. They are angels. 🙂💕☀️

Clara wanted to be caught because she sensed Eldad was a good person. She was probably terrified of the street life. Clearly she was dumped as the breeder did not want her anymore. She deserves a loving home.❤ Happy holidays.

Wow! She settled in fast! And she has all those toys. She was so cute as she arranged her toys all around her. And to see her tail up and wagging was a joy to behold. I hope she finds her forever home soon!!!

All my pets here are rescues. I also feed and take care of what used to be four extremely feral cats. Three are now much tamer and the fourth one is getting there slowly. Clara is such a sweet girl.

Wow…hundreds of comments on this one. I don’t believe you could find a sweeter pittie ever! Shoot, I think she got into that net on purpose because she was tired of being alone! Easiest rescue yet. Thanks again for all you do & many wishes for a wonderful holiday and new year. Hope you find fewer & fewer animals to rescue in 2024! That people learn to take their unwanted animals to shelters.

I have said and hoped to encourage folks to make the monthly small donation. I am retired, on a fixed income, and the monthly donation and there are items in my weekly shopping trolley that show how affordable my donation is. The biggest reward is seeing our donations at work! The actual rescues, the wonderful baths, the blossoming of the animal or animals. One of my favorites is the rescue of Jordan, thrown into a river bed and sitting on a chip wrapped, one leg deliberately maimed past saving. Hope for Paws you guys redeem for humans a lot of the destruction and pain other human inflict including abandoning a creature with no way to comprehend being discarded.
