If you are in Mech, I highly suggest to move to IT or Management related domains if your sole reason is to make money. Mech fields are only rewarding in personal satisfaction. Salaries and growth are really bad. Unless it is Product based then only proceed.

If you want to go in core, you can do BE. If not then go for BE in computers and give campus placement or TCS , Infosys, Accenture, etc. You will definitely get a job in it better than mechanical

It depends on company usually they have 1 year projects when client facing but when it comes to product based companies if you are working on their product then good exposure but don't expect work life balance but pay is immense. So usually you have to switch everytime in case of IT field not only because of pay but project matters a lot. I am speaking from my experience.
