- Severe and aggressive behaviours may require the use of antipsychotic medication. As with any medication, there are risks and benefits. Learn more…
Benifits -> Big pharma stays one of the richest companies on planet earth. Risks -> The list is really too long for me to type
These pills barely cost anything you act like your spending alot
@@r.r9864Dude; this has NOTHING 2 DO RE: patients' out-of-pocket costs @ all & EVERYTHING 2 DO w/adverse effects from psych meds. Un4tun8ly though; the pharmaceutical companies (i.e.: "Big Pharma," IS MAKING LOTS OF $$$$$ from psych meds & patients whom r on psych meds r "paying the price" via adverse effects caused by psych meds.
It would be nice if antipsychotics were used this way, cautiously and only minimally but that’s simply not the case for the vast majority here in the USA. Patients are thrown on meds, often at high doses without really understanding them, without being informed about the severe side effects and even death they can cause and often for years at a time. I’m basing this off of years in psych hospitals, community mental health centers and clinics in 4 states. In all cases, they were used as a primary treatment without looking at other factors like their living situation, etc, at high doses and without proper follow up.
The same things are happening here in the United Kingdom as you have mentioned. Also something else to point out is that a psychiatrist said in private that here in the United Kingdom,it is very easy for a psychiatrist to section somebody when given the chance and prescribe the patient antipsychotics of which have very harmful damaging effects.A vast number of people don't even need sectioning.
It all depends on a persons needs.
Some of the antipsychotics appear to have some pretty chilling side effects but medical treatments and not 100% safe for everyone.
They are safe for the large majority of people. And it’s the same with any kind of medication even paracetamol.
They all carry risks for the wrong person.
But overall it just depends if someone needs antipsychotics then they should probably take them
In the UK you will be parked on neuroleptics for the rest of your life if antidepressant placebo effect fails to treat you.
I agree but what is a doctor supposed to do about your living situation? There is no pill that can bring back a dead relative or help you escape poverty. At the end of the day, when you go to a doctor, you are asking for their help, whatever that may be. If you feel like they can’t help you, don’t go.
@@remotefaithThere's also no pill that can treat abuse, bullying, & harassment committed against some1 by other people.
Informed consent is vital with anti psychotic usage.
Unfortunately, in America its common for non-criminal, non-violent people to be drugged with antipsychotics without their consent.
Recovering from taking vraylar
@Guy Whose opinions will offend you Thank you. Will do 🙏
One of the UA-camr's male who lives in Australia. He is being forced to take antipsychotic meds because as mental illness in Australia they treated him and others as criminals. I feel bad for him.
@@codypomeroy9040Likewise w/those in the USA on a court-order 4 involuntary mental health "treatment" RE: being treated like criminals.
Antipsychotics ruined my life completely , life over in my 20s terrible brain damage they are dangerous dangerous drugs
I been in a mental hospital for schizophrenia well soon as I left the hospital cuz I knew what they was up too I haven’t took the meds since I got out they said I would have a episode an fall back to insanity but look at me 4 years later they just wanted my insurance money 300$ worth of pills I flushed down the toilet
Are you still doing ok off the medication?
How are you doing now?
how you doing?
what was it like your schizophrenia if you were to describe it briefly?
We are all so proud of you.
What was they up to bro!? Expose em
Too many risks, not enough benefits.
Kim Lec; More like "ALL RISK; NO BENEFITS"!!!!!
Thats never been my experience. Antipsychotics (especially in Denmark) are used so liberally. For years and years, and often with three or four of the same type APs.
Denmark is the happiest country in the world
@@sayehsh8935 where 1/6 is on a psych drug, and has the highest teen alcoholism rate.
Happy times indeed.
@@elisabethandersen1102 perhaps these are the low times of humanbeings i history i believe but statistically speaking Denmark is the first in the list in terms of happiness, imagine when the happiest country is so sad, what is happening in the countries that are with highest rate!
my country is 85th happy country in the world and I am from Iran.
(needless to say the african countries are the saddest ;( hope we'll all be happy and loving someday soon enough)
YES THEY ARE TRYING TO KILL ME SLOWLY I ALREADY HAD STROKE I HAVE ANXIETY DUE TO INITIAL STROKE HEMIPLAGIA IS A GIFTIS THE CAUSE INSTEAD LETS MEDICATE ME DOWN SO I GO QUIET!
Yup; psych meds r "chemical pacifiers" (i.e.: designed 2 silence u; especially when standing up 2 & defending urself against those whom abuse, bully, & harass u).
I ended up with TD and psychosis from seroquil and olanzapine prescribed at the same time for "bipolar" even though the doctor knew i was living in a extremely abusive relationship, had past trauma, and was heavily abusing weed and alcohol. I first quit the alcohol, then meds, then weed. Im 4.5 years into my true recovery journey. Havent been depressed or had psychotic symptoms since holistically treating myself. Thanks BIg Pharma but no thanks.
It's sad there's a pill for everything these days.

Same here do you drink or smoke?
I think it's safe to take antidepressants for a short term 30 days and no more because long term take antidepressants med will cause various unhealthy side effects and cause Parkinson diseases due of low dompaine.
Really a pyramid in the back ground with an eye !
There r NO BENEFITS @ ALL RE: PSYCH MEDS!!!!! Only risks.....
WHY doctor so erg to write you rispeidone ? they cant find the real problem and just throw you in the same basket with nuts cases. One of those missed doctor (missed diagnosis) shame to their principle
It says 63 comments yet it only shows 15 ??
they were most likely deleted
I got pre diabetes and a cholecystectomy from taking anti psychotic's and they have me on involuntary treatment against my wishes
talk to the psychiatrist calmly work with them best you can if they still give it to you atleast ask to be tapered to low doses and ask for something else
there’s some crazy ppl out there but there’s also good ppl (psychiatrists) who just want you to be okay it’s rare tho
Yeah I just believed that maybe some psychiatrist's feel that their pursuing a meaningful occupation to help stabilize some in society. But I generally believe they only are wanting the great financial salaries. They are more communist with involuntary treatment orders. I don't think they have any consideration since were strangers to them, were not even humans were just a patient it's like the holocaust in some strange way to justify suffering. They are more criminals in my opinion, their drugs are so flawed and I think that they should be only allowed to prescribe low doses legally, It should be a global government legislation. @@lorddoggo5854
Yes I'm only under a lower dosage of Haloperidol currently and when I was telling my psychiatrist about my financial concerns, it only caused him to prescribe Fluxomaine too and I didn't want it too. He took my realistic concerns and tried to suggest the anxiety would cause me a relapse. Even though I don't agree with my diagnosis that I was given ten years ago.@@lorddoggo5854
