No any road of kolkata is free from encroachment. You will see half of road even full road is occupied by the vendors. Further cleanliness is also a problem.
on my Calcutta visits I used to go to New Market in my evenings since I was from Hyderabad for my Audit work as I worked in a PSU near Esplanade On one visit one Audit assistant from an Audit company invariable pestered me to offer him Cake and Pastries from Flurry the iconic Pastry shop near New Market.I footed the bill and my Finance controller graciously reimbursed me when I told him my story.
New Market area. Couldn’t tell you how crowded and dirty the entire place was. Sadly govt should do restrictions on people who spit literally everywhere as they like. The only best thing there were the street shopping and the mutton biryani from the Nizam’s. I went continuously 2 days straight just to eat the biryani when I went there for a recent trip.

Beautiful City of lndia 🇮🇳 .Excellent video coverage .Broad road so many shops like Readymade garments and cheppals are shown in roadside People are very busy in purchasing their needs at the shops in Readymade garments and various items.ln front of every shops the roof has been covered on top of the platform to avoid rain and sun hot among the people for their easy walking on the platform to purchase in the shops.All community people are deeply concentrating to purchase their needs at the shops in a mask. Calcutta looks modern beautiful educated civilized lively agile and active reasonably well prosper but made ma sad when I saw people carrying carts having passengers onto those! That an utter shame for the mighty India claiming the third largest economy of the entire globe! Can't govt or wealthy individuals or organizations provide rickshaws to those who work in place of horse or ox or whatever the animals for this purpose of earning bread for themselves and family! Please India be like what you claim to be!
Govt tried to give them the e-battery ricksaws just like in the other Indian cities..But they refused to transfer to it saying this cart has feed their families for ages and they will continue to live their life with the earnings of their pulling rickshaws..They are emotionally attached to it and don't want to move!!!
