I'm not sure but I think it's just a mirored rotated (90° to the right probably) video of them talking; certainly for absurdity reason (idk because something weird makes the explanation clearer/ more interesting perhaps)

This is an incredible explanation of an RF filter, awesome stuff!
thanks a lot :)
Two interlocking forks on top of quartz… Thats, thats the whole device 😂
it's true! absolutely bonkers. I wonder how many other simple devices like this are out there to invent
@@KnowArt From my memory, delay lines are like that as well, pretty much the same but different construction physically.
EDIT: wait, no, they are EXACTLY the same device from what I found out...
@@Kalvinjj can you give me a little more info? What's that and what's its use? Sounds interesting! This structure is also used in many types of sensors because the output is very sensitive to deformation of the structure
@@KnowArt Found what I remembered, and it's actually an interestingly different construction: PAL video glass delays.
It delays the color signal by 64 microseconds (I don't know the entire specifics, just remember how the whole color signal in PAL is an off-phase, or was it fully time delayed, wave superimposed on the signal), and that allows comparison between previous and current scan line.
Works with a piezoelectric transducer in two corners, one as a transmitter, the other as a receiver, and the signal travels through the quartz glass for those 64 us until it reaches the other end.
As UA-cam loves deleting comments with links, I'm not gonna post one but if you check "Delay-line memory" on Wikipedia, the specific part on the PAL crystal delays shows the device, "ultrasonic delay line" on Google shows some good pictures as well.
@@KalvinjjOoo I hope he makes a video about CRT TVs now

Yo, the INTEGRATION between your audio, your video/animations, & your explanations is INSANE.
This is the most unique & memorable educational content I've seen on UA-cam, well done!
damn, thanks!
@@KnowArt of course! I watch a lot of educational content, even quite complicated stuff & read research papers.
But I'm excited to watch your videos & shorts for their more unique, nuanced, & yet quite deeply understandable content (:
Amazing. I learned so much. Forget about coffee filters, air filters, and oil filters: SAW filters are my new favorite
thanks a lot!
my low attention span millenial brain loves this format, please keep doing these.
one piece of advice, for the mirrored mouth section, exaggerate your facial movements. itll be funnier but more importantly, believable and readable.
thanks for the feedback :)
u welcome m8 :]
I was having a hard time understanding saw filter, i already saw 3 or 4 videos but this one was amazing, the format, the 3d animations, and the deep understanding is amazing.
Incredible video, concise format with great visuals and music, I loved it! Though the mirrored mouth segments looked a bit uncanny, I think I would have preferred if it was just one bit and not a recuring talking format in the video. Great job overall it made me think of Posy if you know the channel (and if you don't, you'll love it).
thanks! And one more thanks for the feedback :)

I saw one of your shorts recommended a bunch, but ignores it for a while assuming it was another content farm piece w/ an AI voiceover and poor research.
I'm glad I finally clicked on it and found out I was wrong.
Liked, commented, and subscribed. Einstein said that if you can't explain something simply, you don't understand it. Very simple explanation, great animation, fun. Rock on brother
thanks a lot! welcome
This video format reminds me of Posy. You did well, mr. Know Art!
thanks! He's great
Absolutely amazing, the content and that music were simply superb 👍
thanks a lot!
Love the video, super great format and very informative. Fun fact: this is how frequently/wavelength modulation is performed. Our phones also use CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) for many networks, in which many many users can use the same frequency, and you can decode the signal with some clever math tricks. Go check that out, looks like magic.
thanks a lot. yeah, like all this stuff is just pure brilliance.

Actually, my microwave and I have great conversations during the water boiling process

i love your way of explaining things, and i always get so excited when i see a new video or short from you in my feed!
That's really nice to hear thanks
Amazing explanation! Thank you.
I love the video! The music got a bit too loud at 5:46 but I think I understood what you said
thanks :)
Should be noted that the whole tradeoff you are talking about between the bandwidth of the signal (set of frequencies you are interested in) and the amount of information that can be transmitted per second through that signal, is a consideration shared by the source of the signal and not just the receiver, and does not necessarily have anything to do with the physical mechanism of this device.
Was waiting for the long form of these
yeah it took quite a while...
I swear this channel teaches me more 6 minutes and 39 seconds than my college has done in 3 years
Dude laying on the desk absolutely made me gut laugh

idk about this one dude, this didn't hook me in like previous vids, and the whole mouth thing was kind of off-putting, and at the end of it all, i don't feel like i truly learned the tech, which kind of just misses the whole point then?

I cant believe i just discovered your long form content. These videos scratch an itch in my brain i didnt know i had!
thanks! this is basically my first real long form video in years
You have a damn unique channel bro. Your shorts are fire, I just worry that they are not yet converting into the main video view you deserve. Perhaps people don't realize that you have more detailed videos. However I do think in the long term this strategy will likely work as long as you can hold out for the success.
Thanks! Most shorts viewers are not long viewers. I simply have not built an audience for long form yet. At least... That's what I hope is the case hahaha
These videos are so good! Thank you for making them. Please keep it up

Love seeing longer form content from you🎉. For the exteriors, it might feel more natural if you recorded background audio and mixed it in with your dialog re-record, so it felt less like a studio read. Excited for the next video!

BRILLIANTLY SIMPLE 💡
01:00 Did you just explain in about ten seconds how Quadrature amplitude modulation works, which had been a mystery for me for decades?
haha I guess so
This channel feels like Posy's style but more chaotic and I love it just as much :3
Posy is great! maybe I should collab with him sometime. Thanks!
These are really good educational videos. I NEED MORE!!!😢
Incredible video! I never knew about this, but the concept is so intriguing!
A lot of people were talking about the mouth thing, and i didn’t even give it a second thought until i saw the comments complaint about it, it just seemed to flow with your style or something, so i just went with it. I wasn’t able to make out what you were saying though, was it synched up with the speech?
As always, incredible animations though, I think this channel really packs a punch when it comes to teaching things, the visualization helps so much! How do you do these animations‽‽‽
thanks for the kind words. I make my animations using bigbrain1996 running on cheese sandwiches. I sometimes use advanced calculators for the final polish. But I've found them pretty clunky
Make this channel popular rn like and subscribe this is insane quality
thanks a lot :) I sure hope the algorithm sees this comment
Can you do a follow up short explaining how new data standards can transmit more data? For example comparing 3G, 4G and 5G. How do they get a performance boost, is it from these filters mostly or a combination of things?
could be interesting! Bandwidth is determined by a lot of factors, but I guess the leading cause of faster speeds with 5g is the (much) higher frequencies used. So high even that these saw filters don't work anymore I believe!
Amazing explanation
Big fan of your videos. I have a suggestion though. When you do outside recordings, don't be afraid of capturing a "less clean" audio track there and then. It's a bit distracting when your voice sounds overdubbed!
It's completely fine, and more natural sounding, to go between field-captured audio when you're on the screen, and studio audio when we're seeing animations.
Thanks! These long form videos are a whole process to figure out. I have since bought some lav mics so hopefully no more overdubbing
How does this video have a better soundtrack than most movies?
Wow the human model used in this video is so good :0
lol
A crystal is a small tuning fork that is tuned to one frequency.
Why does this have only 7017 views? Actually good explanation

Idk how i feel about the mouth edits lol, but i promise one thing, I will never forget how devices filter signals.
I think those could be BAW filters you are looking at.
Oh? You've peaked my interest. I'm pretty certain they are SAW filters, but...?
Dude, THIS IS AWESOME!
thanks!
i don't remember much school past "the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell", so I'm unaware if there is some reason directionality doesn't matter here. Would it not matter if the filter is situated perpendicular to the wave?
