With Darthmod, I'd play Empire over Napoleon any day. Vanilla Napoleon is loads better than vanilla Empire, but I actually hate vanilla Empire and dislike vanilla Napoleon as well. I don't know what it is, the guns sound weak, the uniforms aren't as good, the factions don't seem very polished, the unit variety isn't great... and this goes for both games. I really can't play Empire or Napoleon without Darthmod anymore.
Just my opinion, but yeah, Darthmod Empire beats vanilla Napoleon by a mile. When they both have Darthmod they're about equal, and when they're both vanilla, Napoleon is better.
Seems like an alternate history battle, when New York wasn't captured by the british army and the Thirteen Provinces became a dutch state, so the USA was fought their independent from Netherland :D

Nope. Medieval 2. Most of the mods come for Med 2.
I am sure you know about this but, there are a couple mods that bring all of the napoleon graphics to empire which basically turns empire into napoleon total war but you get the grand campaign map. So for me empire tw is the better game with the enhancements haha.

This is a total war center link, I use this with darthmod although you can use it by itself for just the visual appeals.

The Delaware troops are "light infantry", also known as skirmishers. The re-enactment folks of the American Revolution could tell you about them.
So here is the scenario : the Dutch are extending their trade possessions in South America and the newly independent United States are concerned over the Dutch expansion. The British have forsaken their alliance with the Dutch for economical reasons and now the young nation in America wants room for growth. The U. S. already has the necessary industry and suddenly comes upon a lone Dutch fort...
Good job lad. However, I don't know how likely something like this would happen since the Dutch helped the United States economically during the revolution.

5:29 , If you zoom in very close on the ground and then click on the button 'zoom to location' , it'll usually go directly to the spot where the general lies :P
Standard military knowledge. When it comes to laying siege always lead with your artillery, use your infantry to support and protect your artillery until they run out then send in your infantry to mop up

He wasnt even doing great in the defence. He seemed just to have too much luck till the attack
I often go out of a fortification to engage with enemy arty or other units towards the end of the battle, but i always keep reserve units inside the fortification.
I only send out what i can afford; typically i use cav to flank around behind a hill using defilade, while using about two units to march front on. The front on infantry units are just to keep the arty trained on them while allowing a free charge from cav, a few infantry do die as a result, but much better than using any kind of frontal assault only strategy.

NOOOOOOO.
Napoleon and Empire and Rome II and Attila have the shittest combat system. Kill moves, although intended to make the battles more cinematic, actually make it more boring to watch, because once you see two soldiers start a kill-move, nothing will interrupt it and after a few battles you'll know exactly what happens in said kill-move. Medieval II had unit collision, Napoleon and Empire do not and for a time period focused on cavalry charges and infantry combat, no unit collision would be crippling to the game. I'll copy and paste something I already said about this.
"Medieval 2's soldier animations, I believe, were the best. Rather than a very long elaborate animation which wouldn't happen in an actual battle ever, there were the standard swings and stabs that might or might not kill their opponent and then maybe a cool finishing move where they might smash their axe right into their foe's chest even after they raise a hand to stop it, or whacking their head back with a sword. That system was the most realistic and cinematic."
My favorite mod call of warhammer makes the medieval 2 combat even better and more fun to watch. Lots of new custom finisher animations and death animations seemed to be put in and the fighting is more fast pace and deadly (less harmless shield bashing attacks and so on)

I'm British and I still think that the US Marines have one of the coolest in the game.

The U. S. Army was working on the balance of combat arms at the time; Infantry needed sharpshooter and grenadier battalions in the mix with the heavy musquet regiments, Cavalry needed dragoons (mounted rifles) as well as lancers, and Artillery used mortars in addition to smoothbore field guns.

Having a ETW2 would be AMAZING! While ETW's release wasn't great and had its share of bugs, the idea and the potential is huge. I'd love to see this, but not in a RTWII/Atilla style, but rather like NTW

for those who want empire total war with napoleon gameplay,enhanced sounds and graphics,plus realistic smoke and a bunch of fixes,and a sub mod that makes random event like EU IV...the mod is called imperial destroyer and the submod vdm
and increased battle duration (troops have more morale) and tweaked stuff like range aaand reduced the gap between soldiers so the units look more powerful

Empire has the best duels ive seen i total war so far. The little musket fights that break out always look really good.

Napoleon campaign is not bad tbh,although it a simplified Europe map.The way AI react to your move is great.Like when attacking a small army.They will withdrawing.

I personally prefer shogun 2 (with all Dlc's) over all the total wars cause the combat system was beautifully done the best system iv'e seen. And the graphics were incredible. The campaign was amazing also. And the multiplayer... The best multiplayer iv'e played for total war

The artillery crews and marines all go home and get medals for being so bad ass. Not that all US soldiers aren't already bad ass, but they were just too bad ass for the Dutch to handle.

Have you seen the extended videos for Hobbits The Battle of Five Armies. The Dwarves got cavalries and chariots with automatic crossbow mounted. I hope they put those units in Rise of Mordor mod for Total War Atilla.

Hey Apollo US Marines still have the coolest uniforms to this day lol
The new U.S. Army uniform looks better. It's a nod to the classic WW2 era, and has golden embodiments, and the officer and NCO stripes are more golden than yellow now for the pants. Also they brought back caps, from that era as well. Looks beastly.
Glad they got rid of the dumbass dress blues that look like bus driver uniforms lmfao.
