LOVEBITES was formed in 2016 by Miho(Ba) and Haruna(Dr), members of the band "DESTROSE", which went on hiatus in 2015.
The girls made their major label debut in 2017 (March 24) with "THE LOVEBITES EP".
On 18 June 2018, LOVEBITES won 'BEST NEW BAND' at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods 2018 awards organised by the British metal magazine METAL HAMMER.
On 4 August, LOVEBITES performed on the W.E.T stage at WACKEN OPEN AIR 2018, one of the world's largest annual metal festivals in Germany, with the 10,000 capacity venue almost full.

On August 20,2018, LOVEBITES announced that it has partnered with X-ray Touring, one of the largest players in the UK booking agent industry.

Classical jazz blues trained first metal gig. If Freddie Mercury held stage presence court, she would represent all of Asia..New bass, FAMI ) is 20 and should be put in jail. Both guitars are SELF trained at 17, 20yr respectively. MYAKO (stage left) is a world class concert pianist. MIDORI is a technical monster. Then you have drummer HARUNA, tiny and nuclear . So many fantastic videos along this road, when you travel with the 'White Wolves'
Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they waited out the pandemic and searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later.
They did their first live performances in more than two years in summer of 2023, with their new bassist Fami. Their very first show was commemorated on the DVD “Knocking on Heaven’s Gate”. They have posted three performances from that DVD-“”Hammer of Wrath”, “Judgement Day” and “Nameless Warrior”. All of them are barn-burners.
Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet).
Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing.
In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. The instrumentalists studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining.
They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band."

Miyako is also a virtuoso concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. She is self-taught on the guitar. All 3 of them tap each time, they just highlight one each time. As for Asami, the singer, you would be surprised at how many people say they don't like her singing.

@mythsteps I just saw that Charismatic Voice reacted to them a month ago. So, I went and listened to her reaction to see if I was wrong about Asami. I had to laugh because she said some of the exact same things I did but, she REALLY breaks down her singing and she loved it. (Elizabeth of the Charismatic Voice is a professional Opera singer and coach).

I must confess that for me it took a few listens until a felt in love with Asami’s voice. But since then i need her every day!
@@stand.and.deliver.5man, since I watch bunch of animes for over 10 years, I also listen to their opening or ending song, and I really had enough of Japanese female singer singing with a cute voices.
so, when I hear Asami, it's like a fresh air to me.
I was like, "finally, Japanese singer who didn't singing with a cute voice".
Tbh, I used to be a metalhead back then, and idk why I ended up liking anime so much, even I prefer Japanese metal music rather than western metal lately.
I think Lovebites change me a lot.
