Congrats! Have you checked out NashKnits’ patterns? She has some of the classiest baby knits I have ever seen. I just tested her Zen Jacket Mini and I’m obsessed. Also I cried a little when you said you’ll get a year off for maternity leave. I had 3 months off at 60% pay and that is actually really good for the states 😭.
thanks- and i will deffo look her up! gosh is it that bad over there? in truth i think most people here can take a year off, but generally up to half of that is unpaid. i still dont fully understand what my situation is (i think i get half my pay for the year / potentially 3 months unpaid)- but i am lucky that my partner will sort us out whilst my income is so low. its such a mine field!

Just be careful who you say something like that to. You don't know what people are going through. I have a friend who has had her "baby bump" pointed out when she was going through a loss. If the person hasn't addressed it, leave them be.
Congratulations! That exhaustion and brain fog can be no joke, I have four and I can’t tell you the amount of times during pregnancy I would drag myself off the couch to go to the kitchen, get there, and not know what I was planning to do in the kitchen, and then go snuggle back up on the couch. I also kept getting stuck trying to suck in my stomach to squeeze past people or furniture and that baby does not suck in! That yarn for your hat is the most beautiful color, I’d save the leftovers for something you can see while wearing it. I always get a little sad about using my special skeins on hats because I can’t see the color when I wear it!
ahhh oh no!!!! ive gotten stuck lying down once so far ha, i had to kinda roll off like a beached whale!!! hahah. yes i think i will save for a colour work jumper or something!

I was very sick and felt rubbish on all four of my children so understand how hard it is ….. keep going it’s all well worth it for sure. I wasn’t planning on making baby knits because my baby is due in late April but so many of the podcasting knitters I watch are also expecting that I was influenced to knit a couple items 😂 current I’m making mini Augustins #1 in a bamboo cotton blend. I figured that way it was a light and airy pattern good for a spring babe.

thanks! to be honest i dont know the exact colours of the yarn, its a random standard dk wool from rowan in a bright green and drops mohair in a darker green. sorry they were really old stash so i am not sure!

I couldn't knit either time I was pregnant because my body wouldn't let me. I tried to knit baby socks with my second pregnancy, and I *still* can't look at the color those socks were without getting queasy and dizzy....8 years later.
This is lovely news! I do have to say that many of us probably guessed anyway because your face-shape changed! But you dont have to apologise about deleting someone's comment. It is considered quite an invasion of privacy to ask publicly whether there is a baby on the way or not. Hope the rest of the time goes a bit better for you. 💕
I am sure your neighbours are not watching but I have to admit if I was your neighbour I wouldn’t be too happy about you filming the front of my house and the view into my windows and posting it online. Might be courteous to blur the view in post production.
Hi there, I know the neighbours here, they know and dont mind, plus I have no idea how to do that :) (they see me sat up here all the time) also I suspect my very basic set up isn't able to do that.
@@orchidsheart It’s very easy if you are using premiere pro. Just use a mask with Gaussian blur. If using something else to edit I’m sure you can find a tutorial on UA-cam. I’d be worried about your safety too. Are you not concerned people will be able to track down where you live? Maybe I’m just a worry wart 😂
@@emilysmith2784 I use a free basic software and am afraid I deffo dont have the time to learn new editing at the moment. Nor do I have the luxury of really recording anywhere else where there is decent light at the moment because we are trying to sort out for the baby 🤷♀️ I just wanted to easily be able to record something whilst I had the time/light /energy and cant sit on the floor in here so easily to record like I used to. Sorry if it stresses you out but I have limited easy options at the moment.
