Sharing my knitting and crafting journey. I am still learning, this is all a learning curve, but wanted to share some of my creative projects with the lovely knitting community.
Will be sharing knitting projects (of course!), but also sewing and other crafting.
I am interested in trying to make more sustainable choices and this is also something I am learning about.
Occassionaly I sell some of the crafts I make. If you are interested, I recommend giving me a follow on instagram as this is where I am most present.

The socks are so cute. You know what was great with our baby, but which you didn't see that often, little leg warmers!
Oh, and I love the egg carton idea! I have an advent collection from Sweet Sparrow that I need to do something with and I’ll definitely keep that storage idea in mind.
I remember my daughter having the same problem with her sons pants riding up in the baby carrier. She used store bought leg warmers and those worked well. Maybe you could knit a pair of those instead of socks? Also, the socks you made are adorable. Hang them on your Christmas tree!
Another option would be to add a waist channel and a small drawstring inside so you can have the option of loose or fitted, but it's also hidden x
Yes!
Is it the Anthea blouse?
Yes
I need to sew me some bob pants. I have the pattern but also a wriggly 6 month old. I'm just so fed up of the three outfits that currently fit me!
Urgh I do know what you mean about being fed up with what fits- I'm enjoying the couple of things I've made tho
Honestly, it makes me feel so much better that even an experienced crafter like you makes some "mistakes" when you hack things together. Enjoy your baby time.
Oh I make mistakes all the time. Especially when I experiment! Most things can be saved if you have the patience though
Thank you so much for using your precious baby-free time to share with us! Love your podcast! I think your Ovis sweater is marvelous just as it is. The puffy sleeves suit you! Lucky baby to have a Mommy who creates adorable outfits to wear!
Thank you !
That's a shame about your new dress. I was going to suggest taking off the skirt and putting days in the bodice as well. I hope you can fix the dress and make it more wearable for you. The Bob pants look great on you! 🤎 I really like the look of these pants and have checked out a few on Instagram, however I'm a bit worried about how wide the legs are and whether they would suit my plus size body. I look forward to seeing more of your making that you can achieve in those stolen moments around carrying for your baby!
Could you make up a pair in some old bed sheets or thrifted material to see if you like the shape? If you search the hashtag on instagram do any come up on a similar body ? I will work on the dress when I get a chance !
@@orchidsheart yes. I recently cleaned out my linen closet and have kept some old sheets for using as toiles 😀 thanks for your suggestion. It's much appreciated! Happy making! 💜
I really like the Ovis sweater on you! I think the colours and the circular yoke look super flattering. Also the sleeve length is something I'm beginning to see more of lately. Called 'bracelet' length sleeves, they again look very flattering and are apparently very practical too for housework. I really like the look of the Bob Pants - they have this easy breezy look to them and feel like they would be great for hot weather in some light linen material. Do you think the pattern is easy to follow for a beginner though? I've heard good things about the Pamona Pants too and not sure if that would be a better one to purchase for a beginner seamstress? Thanks for uploading and it's always nice to hear from you <3
Oh the bob pants are super easy to make! Go for it! Thanks!
I suggest looking up the magic heel sock. It’s very forgiving.
Oo good to know. I have socks down for me but not him!
Ohhhh I love your sweater/cardigan. If you think the sleeves are too wide, why not rip them back a bit and decrease several stitches while you knit them longer. I can’t do 3/4 sleeves, as I’m always freezing. It’s a gorgeous pattern. Hope you finish it 🙂
I decreased rapidly on the sleeves already which is why they are an odd shape :( at this time of year, a shorter sleeve does me well but it wouldnt be a winter one
So nice to see you doing so well. Thank you for sharing your wips and your time with us. For the cardigan: it looks beautiful, I would add another greyish yarn to the mix so you can comfortably make the sleeves the length you like, and the body too. It's worth it, you'll be wearing it for years. Love your knits, love your style. ❤
Thank you
All those jumpers are lovely, lucky baby.🙂👍
Awww thanks
The cardigan looks really gorgeous on you!
Thanks! Hopefully I'll finish it
The mushroom embroidery is adorable! I'd take the time to remove the skirt and add darts to the bodice. The fabric is so lovely that it would be a shame to have a dress that you don't reach for. I don't think you'll regret taking the time to add darts:)
Thanks yes I probs will have a look at the dress, I want to wear it!
Love, love, love your knitting you are so talented.🙂👍
Thanks!
I am in awe of what you can knit, they are absolutely beautiful. Keep on doing what you are doing.🙂👍
Thank you, I will
Could you put some belt loops on the dress and cinch it in that way? Might be more flattering and still adjustable for a changing post partum body
Deffo could- good idea. Prob wont this time but will save the idea for a future mishap
Love love love your petiteknitter cardigan, the sleeves work and I hope you are going to love it again at some point and continue to knit on it when you do
I'm sure I will eventually. I'm obsessing over another project then will go back to it
I love your creations. You have wonderful taste in clothes. Would darts be possible for your dress?
Thanks. I think so. Going to hopefully try tomorrow
Haven’t seen you for a while so the baby was a surprise - congratulations. The egg box idea is genius, well done.
Ha surprise baby,! Thanks
Junasukka sock pattern on Ravelry is a free pattern for baby socks that stay on. There is a sweet story behind the creation of this pattern too. It may help to keep baby’s feet from escaping his socks. ❤
Thanks for the info! :)
So lovely to see you again and catch up 😊
Thank you! 😊
I really liked this cozy podcast episode, thank you so much for sharing it. The little baby socks were so adorable 😍
You are so welcome!
Lovely video. I enjoyed watching. May have a go at the bob pants. Congratulations on the baby. You look so v relaxed. ♥️♥️♥️
Thank you! 🤗
I highly suggest you learn on a spindle and then you’ll start to understand how spinning works. That’s how I did it and spinning really fun now.
@@Serenity-fu8xz I tried and hated it :) but have managed to get going on my wheel now!
Lovely video! I would love to see your Arenite Pants and hear about the pattern from you. Lovely wishes from Germany!
Thanks, I fear this would be quite a boring video tho as I've not made any mods on any of them
The incredibly sticky stick seed heads are called “hitchhikers”Sending you love from California.
@@Serenity-fu8xz ahhhh, they are horrid 😆😬 thanks!
It would be helpful if you added links.
Hi sorry these videos take ages to make and edit and I dont have the time to add all the links too. You should be able to get patterns quickly on google tho with the names in the description. Thanks!
Your description is missing the Alaska pullover! Camille ? In Gotland wool. It is gorgeous and that chart is just what l am needing for a panel with a varigated pink/white/blue yarn in the background . . . Planned to be like winter trees and sky here in southern Sweden.
Hi there, oops! Yes its Alaska Sweaterby Camille Descoteaux ooo that sounds lovely
What a sweet video with your little one, too! So glad to hear all is well, and love seeing your knitting progress as always.
Thank you so much!
Congratulations on the arrival of your baby - what amazing hair! With regards to breastfeeding, by next Summer your bust should have settled down and not feel as big as it does now so your tops may well fit. I love the M&M floral cotton. I’ve been talking myself out of buying some since I first saw it. Personally, I’d probably wait until Spring before using it. You should have an idea of your body shape by then. Lots of love. Laura
Yes I think at this point its prob for the best:) thanks
Thank you for a wonderful podcast Ophelia! So good to see you looking beautiful happy and relaxed…and all your lovely makes!!Well done and congratulations to you all on the arrival of your beautiful little boy💕🤗
Thank you!
30:12 Henry’s pebble vest would be perfect with your first homespun! And it would be a nice memento of both your first baby and your first yarn!❤
Oooo will look it up thanks
Omg Baby Boy has an amazing head of hair, congratulations ❤. I love if he gets a hole in the brown cardigan you will embroider a bug on it!! Mad3 me lol. Love your aesthetics 🎉I would wait till next summer to do your blouse, as your breast will change dramatically wgen you finish breatfeeding ( I feed both of mine for 13mths and 8mths respectively ....a longggg time ago now) 😊🎉
Good to know ! And glad it made you laugh:)
What is worth doing whilst breastfeeding is putting a brooch or safety pin on the last side you feed on so you are not lop sided at the end of breastfeeding, my god mum gave me a safety pin with a small ribbon on it, and I thought it was silly, did not use it, and favoured one side, over the other, and now, one breast is bigger than the other😉, take care! 😊
Ah no didnt realize that was a thing!
Wow, look at that hair! Congratulations!🥳 You look great!😊
Thank you!!
Congratulations 😊what a lovely podcast (as usual) you are always knitting interesting things😊thank you
Thank you! 😊
Congratulations to you all and what an amazing amount of hair. I bet you suffered from heart burn when carrying him 😊
Thanks, and no not at all! :)
Ohhhhhhh bless. He looks like a beauty! Love the hair : ) So nice to see you again. Lovely knits as usual
He really is if I do say so myself 😁 thanks
Omg been waiting for this update on the newborn hat saga
Hahha tbh I think hes prob out grown most of them 😬🤦♀️
Congratulations and I hope things continue to go relatively smoothly for you. With your first spin, you could do some weaving and maybe turn it into a pillow case. It is a lot more forgiving of uneven yarn that knitting.
Ah good idea thanks !
Congratulations on your sweet baby! I had baby number 3 in April and I can tell you easy oversized clothes are the way to go. Once you loose the baby weight (or breastfeeding boobs go away) you can always take the clothes in. I made myself a couple of knitted cardigans that are purposely oversized. I also just live in overalls and boxy dresses like a size too large hinterland.
Good to know thank you !
What a thrill to see you had posted a new episode! I am in awe of you little one's hair, beautiful like his mommy's . Thank you for sharing your creations with us. As always your choice of yarns and fabrics and colors are masterful! you are so very inspiring. Thank you!
Thank you!
Aaaah no apologies, you look really relaxed doing podcasting while parenting, love the socks and the rusty ranunculus! Great you arranged some me time for spinning and sewing, this Bob pants looks really nice and esp also comfy! For the top: if it is fitted, wait, cause your body will change a lot, if there is wiggle room, I think you can go for it, it is nice to dress nice and esp have nice things that fit… love the cast on party you had, so prepared! And well done to carve me time to keep sane during the postpartum 😂 good luck!
Thank you ! It is a loose top so I'm thinking I will make it but probs in something different for now
@@orchidsheart Yeah, maybe it is indeed better to save the really nice/expensive fabrics when your clothes aren't under the big risk to being used as a gigantic bib anymore ;)
Ophelia...so good to see you both 😊 i think you should keep the fabric for next summer . I am a mom of 3, and i pretty much wore loose garments the entire first year. So much to get used to that i needed to just wear garments that i knew i could breastfeed at a moment's notice 😊 Later on, i began the process of getting in shape and returned to sewing once again.
Agreed! Give it a year or so
Good to know ! I'm starting to think I'll make the top in a different fabric so I can wear it but use this one for next summer
100% worth making the anthea, i wear mine all year round, pre pregnancy, during pregnancy and now breastfeeding, its the best top. Lovely makes as always 🌟 your ranunculus looks beautiful
Thank you and oo you are tempting me
Never apologize for grunts, spits, or bottom noises. 😂 Welcome little one!! Congratulations. ❤
Hahaha 😁 thanks
Congratulations to you and your family on your new baby! He’s got a lovely head of hair!
Thank you so much! Yes he has.got good hair :)
