I am a retired art/ art history teacher who farms on a property almost adjacent to where Tom grew up. I was able to teach some of Frederick Varley's relatives. Frank, "Franz" Johnson's relatives are now distantly related by marriage. Tom would have walked past our place every day on his way to work in Owen Sound. Many years ago our youngest son found a beech tree with TT carved into it in our bush. As regards the controversy of whether Tom is actually buried in the Leith grave, our old timer farmer neighbor's father was one of the ones to pick up the casket at the Owen Sound train station. They confirmed that it was his body. His grave has become a wonderful homage to him as an artist.

Tom Thomson' technique is amazing. And the foundation of it is LOVE. It's thrilling that Rassouli chose him for our inspiration this week! I love how he used daily painting and journaling with painting instead of words to demonstrate his thoughts feelings and emotions!

Even the paintings themselves reflect the changing landscape with the paint that expands and contracts along with the seasons.

I agree, I also never heard of this artist. But the documentary was very insightful and gave us a look at the man himself and the artist he was as well as his contributions.

It seems like beautiful pottery and maybe sculptures with spickets could be filled with ( DRY EASE) to collect excess moisture in the warmer season / humidifier in colder?
